NFL Waiver Wire Week 10

NFL Waiver Wire Week 10 2015 by Utter-Fantasy Writer & Illustrator Doug Bowles

Only 2 more weeks of Byes to contend with, Weeks 10 & 11. With 6 teams off on a bye Week 9, some of your Waiver Wire Week 10 fill ins may be players dropped last week, particularly with the QBs that were off.

Bye Teams Week 10:  ATL- IND- SD- SF

WASH K Cousins- Unlikely impressed anyone Week 9 with 217 yards passing and only 1 TD, but Week 10 Washington is at home vs N.O. and the Saints can’t stop anyone- top QB Waiver Wire Week 10

DET Matt Stafford (at GB) – The Packers defense has been exposed the past few weeks, and reports are surfacing that Stafford is glad OC Lombardi is gone-only owned in 65% of Yahoo leagues

BALT Joe Flacco ( vs JACK)– Much needed Bye week for Flacco, who has only thrown for 10 TDs this season. Only owned in 53% of Yahoo leagues

HOU Brian Hoyer (at CINN)- Another name that could have been dropped Week 9 due to Bye week. Tough match up Week 10, but better option than KC QB A Smith ( at DEN) or game-manager STL N Foles

IND Matt Hasselbeck- Andrew Luck has been diagnosed with a lacerated kidney, and will be sidelined 2-6 weeks ( IND has Week 10 Bye)

GB James Starks- A fumble and an injury sent RB Eddie Lacy to the bench, so Starks stepped in and had 10 carries for 39 yards. He also added  83 receiving yards & 1 TD. Only owned in 16% of Yahoo Leagues. Lacy hasn’t been Lacy all year-Starks is a must own

BUFF Karlos Williams- Back from concussion protocol, Williams had 110 yards on only 9 carries with 2 TDs

TENN Antonio Andrews- HC Whizenhunt is gone, and hopefully so is RBBC in TENN. The Titans may have finally found a workhorse in RB Andrews- 20 touches/111 total yards Week 9- owned in 51% of leagues

HOU Alfred Blue- Named the starter for Week 8, Blue ended with 19 touches for 72 total yards vs TENN. Week 10 Blue gets a pretty stout CINN defense. A Blue only owned in 75% of leagues before the Bye- Now only owned in 68% of leagues because of the Week 9 Bye

PITT Jordan Todman- RB DeAngelo Williams Williams (foot) isnt 100% but should be ready for Sunday’s game against the Browns. Who ever runs for PITT has a good game, so getting Williams handcuff not for just this week but for ROS is a good idea

NE James White/ Brandon Boldin- RB Dion Lewis OUT for the Season (ACL) so someone has to fill in. Will Belichick make it White? Bolden? Both? Only he knows

Deeper League Options- SF Shaun Draughn– The 49ers are apparently rolling with RB Draughn (16 carries Week 9) over Pierre Thomas

Wide Receivers

HOU Nate Washington- In the 2 games Washington played before the Week 9 HOU Bye, he had 201 yards a 3 TDs. Even w/ WR Cecil Shorts returning soon, Washington is sure-handed and QB B Hoyer likes throwing to him

GB Davante Adams– Back Week 8, but only had 2 targets. Week 9 Adams saw 11 targets, hauling in 7 of them for 93 yards. QB Aaron Rodgers needs all his weapons if they are going to back on track. Look for Adams to see plenty of targets ROS

BALT Kamar Aiken- WR Steve Smith’s season ending injury Week 8 puts WR Aiken into the #1 WR spot in BALT. Off Week 9 on a Bye Week. Don’t forget about him, this #1 WR in BALT is only owned in 4% of Yahoo Leagues

SD Stevie Johnson- With K Allen OUT for the season, and Malcolm Floyd ( shoulder) injury Week 9, Johnson is the #1 WR in SD and available in 27% of league right now

WASH DeSean Jackson- slow start back in Week 9 with only 15 receiving yards, but a dream match up Week 10 home vs the sad Saints

CAR D Funchess ( at TENN)- Has this rookie finally decided to show up for the 2015 NFL season? 3-of-4 targets for 71 yards and a touchdown in Carolina’s Week 9 win over the Packers is a nice sign that he may have but not a guarantee ( he’s had 6 other games where he has done nothing)

Tight Ends

WASH Jordan Reed– QB K Cousins has always looked for his TEs, but WASH has had trouble keeping their TEs healthy. Reed is back and had 72 yards – 2 TDs Week 7- only 18 yards Week 9 but he did have a TD

ATL J Tamme- 28 targets in the past 3 weeks. ( Bye Week 10 however)

DEN Owen Daniels– Despite the addition of TE Vernon Davis, Daniels has a lot of time w/ HC G Kubiak ( In HOU, in BALT & in DEN) so Daniels will still be part of this offense. In Week 9 Daniels had 9 targets/ 102 yards and 1 TD
