Week 12 Sleepers Fantasy Football

Week 12 Sleepers Fantasy Football by Utter-Fantasy Football Writer & Illustrator  Doug Bowles

Week 12 Byes: None.

There are no teams on a “Bye Week” in Week 12, so injuries are your major concern this week that may have your options to Start and Sit limited. Some players in question this weekend are OAK WR Michael Crabtree, NE TE Rob Gronkowski, NO RB Mark Ingram and SD WR Travis Benjamin). Regardless of the league, the waiver wire has likely been picked over. Fantasy sleepers are NFL players who may exceed their statistical expectations, and may be available and options for your fantasy football team roster this week.

Each week Utter-Fantasy tries to find the sleepers which may be available for you, leading up to the NFL Week 12 regular season game. Here are a few player suggestions that may still be available in your fantasy football league.

Week 12 Sleepers Fantasy Football

QB Week 12 Sleepers Fantasy Football

PHIL QB C Wentz ( vs GB )- Packers defense is BAD.

BUFF QB Tyrod Taylor ( vs JACK )- QB Taylor doesn’t put up a ton of points, but this is a great match up.

MIA QB Ryan Tannehill ( vs SF )- I rarely recommend Tannehill, but another good match up. The 49ers are the #26 defense in the NFL.

Deep League Consideration: CLEV QB Josh McCown ( vs NYG )- McCown will start Sunday’s game against the Giants. ( Cody Kessler has his second concussion in a month ). At least McCown is playing at home this week.

RB Week 12 Sleepers Fantasy Football

PHIL RB Wendell Smallwood ( vs GB)- With RB Ryan Mathews likely out, Smallwood is expected to “play a lot” against the Packers on Monday night. Still only owned in 67% of Yahoo leagues.

BUFF RB Mike Gillislee ( vs JACK )- RB McCoy is expected to play with a surgically repaired thumb, but Gillislee should see plenty of action in Week 12.

NO RB Tim Hightower ( vs LAR )- Although RB Mark Ingram is suppose to suit up, Tim Hightower rushed 12 times for 69 yards in Week 11, adding eight receptions for 57 additional yards.

DEN RB Kapri Bibbs ( vs KC )- Bibbs has been given some opportunities in recent weeks, rushing 7 times for 22 yards in the Broncos’ Week 10 win over the Saints.

WR Week 12 Sleepers Fantasy Football

JACK WR Marqise Lee (at BUFF )- 25 touches over the past 3 games and a TD catch in Week 11.

NYG WR Sterling Shepard ( vs CLEV )- Getting more involved in the Giant’s offense every week and a great match up. TD receptions 3 weeks in a row.

CHI WR Cameron Meredith ( vs TENN )- This is going to be a rough outing for the Bears, who have to start QB Matt Barkley. Meredith is a candidate for a trash TD late in the game when Chicago is trailing badly. Meredith caught 4/4 targets for 49 yards in Week 11, where Meredith was the nominal No. 1 receiver. Only owned in 55% of Yahoo leagues.

NO WR Willie Snead ( vs LAR )- QB Brees will have to get everyone involved to win this home game vs a good Ram’s defense.

TE Week 12 Sleepers Fantasy Football

CLEV TE Gary Barnidge ( vs NYG)- QB Josh McCown knows to get TE Barnidge involved in the offense. A touchdown reception in Week 11.

SF TE Vance McDonald ( at MIA )- One of the few decent weapons on the SF offense. Miami is #15 vs opposing tight ends.

HOU TE C.J. Fiedorowicz ( vs SD)- 6 receptions ( most for the team) in Week 11 for 82 yards. Fiedorowicz (shoulder) will play in Week 12 against the Chargers. QB B Osweiler finding it necessary to find his TEs when pressured.

Week 12 Fantasy Football DEF Sleepers

NYG ( vs CLEV)- Any team vs the Browns.

MIA ( vs SF )- The Dolphins should be able to control this game.

BUFF ( vs JACK)- Great match up for the Bills.

Week 11 Byes: Atlanta, Denver, NY Jets and San Diego.

Particularly in the larger 12-14 team fantasy football leagues, these four teams on a “Bye Week” may have your options to Start and Sit limited heading into Week 11. You also may be dealing with some fantasy football injury or suspensions concerns in your line ups (such as NE TE Rob Gronkowski, HOU WR Will Fuller or CHI WR Alshon Jeffery). Regardless of the league, the waiver wire has likely been picked over. Fantasy sleepers are NFL players who may exceed their statistical expectations, and may be available and options for your fantasy football team roster this week.

Each week Utter-Fantasy tries to find the sleepers which may be available for you, leading up to the NFL Week 11 regular season game. Here are a few player suggestions that may still be available in your fantasy football league.

Week 11 Sleepers Fantasy Football

QB Week 11 Sleepers Fantasy Football

CLEV QB Cody Kessler ( vs PITT )- HC Hue Jackson said Cody Kessler “is the quarterback” and the Steller’s secondary is actually pretty bad this season.

BUFF QB Tyrod Taylor ( at CINN )- QB Taylor doesn’t make a lot of mistakes and the Bengals are 20th vs the pass, 20th vs the run.

BALT QB Joe Flacco ( at DAL)- The Cowboys are 25th worst team vs the pass.

Deep League Desperate Consideration: KC QB Alex Smith ( vs JACK )-

RB Week 11 Sleepers Fantasy Football

DET RB Theo Riddick ( vs JACK )- RB Riddick is back from injuries, and due for a big load vs a weak Jacksonville defense.

OAK RB Jalen Richard ( vs HOU)- Rested from a Week 10 Bye, Richard had 8 carries for 62 yards and caught 2/3 passes for 10 yards in Oakland’s Week 9 win over Denver.

JACK RB C Ivory ( at DET )- Tough to trust any Jacksonville running back, but the Lions are the worst defense in the NFL.

BALT RB Kenneth Dixon ( at DAL)- RB Dixon will get more carries this week against the Cowboys following his strong performance Week 10.

WR Week 11 Sleepers Fantasy Football

OAK WR WR Seth Roberts ( vs HOU )- Averaging 5+ targets per game and has 4 TDds on the season so far. WR A Cooper is less than 100%.

CHI WR Eddie Royal ( ay NYG)- Although Royal (toe) was limited in Thursday’s practice, he will suit up for Week 11. With WR A Jeffery on suspension, Royal will get targets.

KC WR Tyreek Hill ( vs TB )- WR Jeremy Maclin (groin) has been ruled out for Week 11. Expect Tyreek Hill to see the biggest bump in playing time in three-receiver sets alongside Albert Wilson and Chris Conley.

JACK WR Marqise Lee (at KC )- 14 targets over the past 2 games.

NYG WR Sterling Shepard ( vs CHI )- Getting more involved in the Giant’s offense every week.

MINN WR Adam Thielen ( vs ARI)- ESPN’s Britt McHenry was told by a Vikings coach that WR Adam Thielen will be “targeted a lot” Week 11 against the Cardinals. Tough match up.

TE Week 11 Sleepers Fantasy Football

PITT TE Jesse James ( at CLEV )- The Browns have allowed 9 receiving TDs to opposing tight ends…most in the NFL.

SF TE Vance McDonald ( vs NE )- One of the few decent weapons on the SF offense. TE McDonald caught 4/6 targets for 50 yards in the 49ers’ Week 10 loss to the Cardinals..

BALT TE Dennis Pitta ( at DAL)- The Cowboys are the 8th worst team defending opposing tight ends, and the ravens will likely be trailing for most of this game.

Week 11 Fantasy Football DEF Sleepers

PITT ( at CLEV )- Any defense vs the Browns.

OAK ( vs HOU)- The Raiders are the 5th worst defense in the NFL, but this is great match up at home.

Week 10 Sleepers Fantasy Football by Utter-Fantasy Football Writer & Illustrator  Doug Bowles

Week 10: 4 teams on a “bye’ this week, Buffalo, Detroit, Indianapolis and Oakland.

Heading into Week 10 with players from any of these teams, you may be having a shortage of options to Start and Sit. You also may be dealing with some fantasy football injury concerns in your line ups (such as WASH WR DeSean Jackson, NYJ QB R Fitzpatrick or KC WR Jeremy Maclin). Regardless of the league, the waiver wire has likely been picked over. Fantasy sleepers are NFL players who may exceed their statistical expectations, and may be available and options for your fantasy football team roster this week.

Each week Utter-Fantasy tries to find the sleepers which may be available for you, leading up to the NFL Week 10 regular season game. Here are a few player suggestions that may still be available in your fantasy football league.

Week 10 Sleepers Fantasy Football

QB Week 10 Sleepers Fantasy Football

CHI QB Jay Cutler ( vs TB)- Should be forced to throw a lot if the running game doesn’t catch on early.

DEN QB Trevor Siemian ( at NO)- The Saints are 28th vs the pass. Siemian doesn’t make a lot of mistakes.

Deep League consideration: HOU QB Brock Osweiler ( at JACK )- QB Osweiler will be missing WR Will Fuller.

RB Week 10 Sleepers Fantasy Football

TB RB Peyton Barber ( vs CHI )- With RB Antone Smith now on IR, who else is there? RB J Rodgers isn’t back and RB D Martin isn’t ready. Barber generated 31 yards on 11 carries and caught 4/5 targets for 24 yards in Week 9 loss to the Falcons.

WASH RB Rob Kelley ( vs MINN )- Coach Jay Gruden called the Washington’s RB Kelley the ‘ “1st-string” running back. Tough match up but at home with opportunities.

JACK RB C Ivory ( vs HOU )- Easily had the most action last week over RB Yeldon, and is playing at home vs the Houston #28 run defense .

WR Week 10 Sleepers Fantasy Football

PIT WR Eli Rogers ( vs DAL)- Calling WRs Wheaton and Coates “disappointments in 2016″ is an under-statement. WR Eli Rogers is healthy now and caught 6/10 targets for 103 yards in the Steelers’ Week 9 loss to the Ravens.

KC WR Tyreek Hill ( at CAR )- WR Jeremy Maclin (groin) has been ruled out for Week 10. Expect Tyreek Hill to see the biggest bump in playing time in three-receiver sets alongside Albert Wilson and Chris Conley.

JACK WR Marqise Lee (vs HOU)- Brutal match up in Week 10 but WR Allen Hurns is in the league’s concussion protocol and QB Blake Bortles has preferred WR Lee all season so far.

LAR WR Kenny Britt ( at NYJ)- The Jets will be without QB Fitzpatrick, so the Rams should have the ball a ton. The Jets are #30 vs the pass.

Also consider NYG WR Sterling Shepard ( vs CINN)- 3/6 targets for 50 yards and a 1 touchdown in the Giants’ Week 10 win over the Eagles.

TE Week 10 Sleepers Fantasy Football

CHI TE Zach Miller ( at TB )- Miller is a favorite of QB Cutlers and should see 7-9 targets Week 10, including shots in the end zone.

SF TE Vance McDonald ( at ARI )- Vance McDonald snagged 3/6 targets for 84 yards and a 1 touchdown in Week 9. Tough match up in Week 10.

Week 10 Fantasy Football DEF Sleepers

CHI ( at TB )- The Bucs are without so many weapons due to injuries, and QB J Winston will likely try to do too much and make mistakes.

GB ( at TENN )– QB M Mariota isn’t 100%.

I also like KC ( at CAR)

A lot of teams on a “bye’ this week, 6 to be exact…Arizona, Cincinnati, Chicago, Washington, New England and Houston. Heading into Week 9 with players from any of these teams, you may be having a shortage of options to Start and Sit. You also may be dealing with some fantasy football injury concerns in your line ups (such as BUFF RB LeSean McCoy, GB WR Randall Cobb or SF RB Carlos Hyde). Regardless of the league, the waiver wire has likely been picked over. Fantasy sleepers are NFL players who may exceed their statistical expectations, and may be available and options for your fantasy football team roster this week.

Each week Utter-Fantasy tries to find the sleepers which may be available for you, leading up to the NFL Week 9 regular season game. Here are a few player suggestions that may still be available in your fantasy football league.

Week 9 Sleepers Fantasy Football

QB Week 9 Sleepers Fantasy Football

KC QB Nick Foles ( vs JACK )- QB Foles can get the ball downfield, whereas QB A Smith either can’t or won’t. Very friendly match up.

MINN QB Sam Bradford( vs DET )- Detroit is the #32 defense in the NFL….dead last!

Also consider DEN QB Trevor Siemian ( at OAK )

RB Week 9 Sleepers Fantasy Football

SF RB Dujuan Harris ( vs NO )- RB Carlos Hyde (shoulder) is out for Week 9 against the Saints. RB DuJuan Harris is expected to start. Nice match up.

GB RB/WR Ty Montgomery ( vs IND )- In some leagues, Ty is still considered just a WR. In any case, he’s in the line up Week 9, after sitting out Week 8.

NO RB Tim Hightower ( at SF )- The Saints will have both RBs ( RB M Ingram) getting carries. Ingram is expected to get the start and the majority of the work, but Tim Hightower will get his chances as well.

PHIL WR Darren Sproles ( at NYG)- In Week 8, Darren Sproles rushed 15 times for 86 yards and caught 5/7 passes for 17 yards in Week 8 against Dallas.

WR Week 9 Sleepers Fantasy Football

KC WR Tyreek Hill ( vs JACK)- Hill had 98 receiving yards in Week 8 along with 1 TD. Hill also had a TD reception in Week 7, and now 4 on the season. Only owned in 3% of Yahoo leagues

NYJ WR Quincy Enunwa ( at MIA )- Enunwa caught 4/11 targets for 93 yards and 1 TD in Week 8 and is a favorite of QB Ryan Fitzpatrick.

OAK WR Seth Roberts ( vs DEN)- Averaging almost 6 targets a game, Roberts had 69 yards and 1 TD in Week 8.

TE Week 9 Sleepers Fantasy Football

BALT TE D Pitta (vs PITT )-  Before their Week 8 “Bye”, Dennis Pitta caught 4/10 targets for 40 yards in Week 7.

MINN TE K Rudolph ( vs DET )- Had 3 weeks in a row with a TD reception before the MINN Bye Week, should get back on track Week 9.

Week 9 Fantasy Football DEF Sleepers

DAL ( vs CLEV )- The Browns are still playing musical chairs with their QBs. McCown Week 8…..QB Cody Kessler will start Week 9 against the Cowboys.

LAR ( vs CAR )– The Panthers do not look anything like the 2015 team that went to the Super Bowl.

A lot of teams on a “bye’ this week, 6 to be exact…Baltimore, Miami, NY Giants, Pittsburgh, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Heading into Week 8 with players from any of these teams, you may be having a shortage of options to Start and Sit. You also may be dealing with some fantasy football injury concerns in your line ups (such as BUFF RB LeSean McCoy, ARI WR Michael Floyd or WASH RB Matt Jones). Regardless of the league, the waiver wire has likely been picked over. Fantasy sleepers are NFL players who may exceed their statistical expectations, and may be available and options for your fantasy football team roster this week.

Each week Utter-Fantasy tries to find the sleepers which may be available for you, leading up to the NFL Week 8 regular season game. Here are a few player suggestions that may still be available in your fantasy football league.

Week 8 Sleepers Fantasy Football

QB Week 8 Sleepers Fantasy Football

CLEV QB Josh McCown ( vs NYJ)- McCown will start Week 8 against the Jets. This may not be such a bad option Week 8. WR T Pryor is healthy ( heathier) and the Jets are 31st vs the pass.

HOU QB Brock Osweiler ( vs DET )- Brock is playing at home in Week 8, vs the #32 Defense in the NFL. Yes, the Lions are dead last in defense.

Also consider KC QB Alex Smith ( at IND )

RB Week 8 Sleepers Fantasy Football

MINN RB Matt Asiata (at CHI )- It looks like RB McKinnon will sit out Week 8, so Asiata has the duties all to himself. Not a bad match up either.

HOU RB Alfred Blue ( vs DET )- With RB Lamar Miller ailing, the NFL community is wondering why the Texans would even put Miller on the field. RB Blue should see plenty of action.

very deep leagues DEN RN Kapri Bibbs ( vs SD )- RB CJ Anderson is OUT, so RB D Booker will take over, and he will need to be rested a few times during the game. RB Bibbs is next up on the depth chart.

WR Week 8 Sleepers Fantasy Football

ATL WR M Sanu (vs GB )- The Packers have said this week that WR Julio Jones would be the top focus for the GB defense. If Jones is double covered all game, this may open up opportunities for WR Sanu.

DAL WR Cole Beasley- Even with WR Dez Bryant coming back, there’s no denying that QB Dak Prescott likes WR Cole Beasley. Still only owned in 58% of Yahoo legaues.

OAK WR Seth Roberts ( at TB)- In what looks like to be a shoot out in Tampa Bay, and Roberts has 3 TDs so far this season. ( 15 targets the past 2 weeks)

TE Week 8 Sleepers Fantasy Football

IND TE Jack Doyle (vs KC)-  WR Donte Moncrief is likely to return, but TE Doyle is still a great weapon for QB A Luck. How is Doyle still only owned in 53% of Yahoo fantasy football leagues?

MINN TE K Rudolph ( at CHI)- Rudolph has been quiet of late, but before the Minnesota Week 6, he had TD receptions in 3 straight games. This is the perfect game for Viking tight end to get back on track.

Week 8 Fantasy Football DEF Sleepers

CLEV ( vs NYJ )- Ryan Fitzpatrick ( the INT machine) will be the Jets’ starting quarterback after Geno Smith suffered a torn ACL in Week 7. The Browns Defense at home is an interesting play.

BUFF ( vs NE)– The Bills shut out the Pats in Week 4…can they give the Pats fits in Week 8 even with QB Tom Brady?

Carolina and Dallas are only two teams off Week 7 with a “bye’, but you may be heading into Week 7 with players from these two teams, or with some fantasy football injury concerns in your line ups. Regardless of the league, the waiver wire has likely been picked over. Fantasy sleepers are NFL players who may exceed their statistical expectations, and may be available and options for your fantasy football team roster this week.

Each week Utter-Fantasy tries to find the sleepers which may be available for you, leading up to the NFL Week 7 regular season game. Here are a few player suggestions for especially for those in very deep leagues, or heading into Week 7 with injuries concerns (such as PITT QB B Roethlisberger, SF RB C Hyde or GB RB Eddie Lacy )

Week 7 Sleepers Fantasy Football

QB Week 7 Sleepers Fantasy Football

KC QB Alex Smith ( vs NO)- Even Alex “Deacon Dunk” Smith should put up nice stats vs this horrible New Orleans defense.

Deep League QB C Kaepernick ( vs TB )- Kaepernick will remain the 49ers’ starting quarterback for Week 7 and plays at home vs Tampa Bay. The Bucs are the #23 ranked defense and they give up a lot of points.

Also consider BALT QB F Flacco ( at NYJ )

RB Week 7 Sleepers Fantasy Football

NE RB LeGarrette Blount (at PITT)- Blount was kicked off the Steelers team in 2014, and this is Blount’s first game back to Pittsburgh. HC Belichick will feed Blount in a revenge game. Also, With QB Big Ben OUT, the Pat’s ought to have the ball of offense a lot.

TB RB Jacquizz Rodgers ( at SF)- With Doug Martin (hamstring) out, Rodgers is expected to start Week 7 against the 49ers. The Bucs showed before their bye week that they will give Rodgers the ball 20+ times.

SF RB Mike Davis ( vs TB)- RB Carlos Hyde has his right arm in a sling last week. If he’s not ready Sunday, RB Mike Davis (averaging 1.8 yards a carry) likely to start. RB Sh Draughn will laso ger touches.

Mike Gillislee ( at MIA)- Even if RB LeSean McCoy (hamstring) plays this week, he will be limited. Mike Gillislee should see plenty of action.

WR Week 7 Sleepers Fantasy Football

NO WR Michael Thomas ( vs KC)- In Week 4, prior to the Saint’s Week 5 Bye,  Thomas caught 4/9 targets for 44 yards and a touchdown Week 4 and 78 yards and 1 TD in week 5. Thomas has a TD reception in 3 straight weeks. KC secondary can get burned.

BUFF WR Justin Hunter (at MIA)- will be the Bills’ starting receiver opposite Marquise Goodwin Sunday at Miami. WR Robert Woods (foot) isn’t going to play. Hunter has caught a touchdown in back-to-back weeks.

MINN WR Adam Thielen ( at PHIL )- WR Stefon Diggs (groin) did not practice Monday, but Diggs is expected back this week. Remember however, that 6’2″ Thielen was the QB Sam Bradford favorite in Week 5, with 7/8 targets for 127 yards and 1 TD.

TB WR Cecil Shorts ( at SF)- With WR Vincent Jackson OUT on IR, Shorts will have an immediate impact on the Buc’s offense.

TE Week 7 Sleepers Fantasy Football

IND TE Jack Doyle ( at TENN )- With TE Allen injured, QB A Luck will lean on TE Doyle plenty. WR P Dorsett is also OUT Week 7. Only owned in 29% of Yahoo leagues.

MINN TE K Rudolph ( at PHIL)- Prior to the Vikings Week 6 Bye week, Rudolph had a TD reception in 3 of 5 games in 2016. QB Sam Bradford likes him as a weapon.

Week 7 Fantasy Football DEF Sleepers

NE ( at PITT)- HC Belichick will give new QB Landry Jones fits all day.

OAK ( at JACK)– JACK QB Blake Bortles has 7 INTS already this season, ( vs 8 TDs) and the Jags running game has not been impressive

There are only two teams off Week 6 with a “bye’, Minnesota and Tampa Bay, but you may be heading into Week 6 with players from these two teams, or with some fantasy football injury concerns in your line ups. Regardless of the league, the waiver wire has likely been picked over. Fantasy sleepers are NFL players who may exceed their statistical expectations, and may be available and options for your fantasy football team roster this week.

Each week Utter-Fantasy tries to find the sleepers which may be available for you, leading up to the NFL Week 5 regular season game. Here are a few player suggestions for especially for those in very deep leagues, or heading into Week 6 with injuries concerns (such as HOU WR Will Fuller, WASH TE Jordan Reed or DET RB Theo Riddick.)

Week 6 Sleepers Fantasy Football

QB Week 5 Sleepers Fantasy Football

HOU QB Brock Osweiler ( vs IND)- The Colts secondary is in shambles, so if Osweiler can avoid hurting fantasy football owners with INTs, he is likely to have a good day. He may be without WR Wull Fuller however in Week 6.

BUFF QB Tyrod Taylor ( vs SF )- The good news about Taylor, if you have to start him this week, is that he only has thrown 2 INTs this season, one of the fewest for any starting QB.  Owned in 62% of Yahoo leagues. ( San Francisco is 19th vs the pass)

CHI QB Brian Hoyer ( at IND)- Hoyer has a very decent match up at home in Week 6 vs the Jacksonville Jaguars. Hoyer completed 33/43 passes for 397 yards and 2 TDs in Sunday’s Week 5 loss to INDY.

I also like BALT QB F Flacco ( at NYG ) if available.

RB Week 6 Sleepers Fantasy Football

DET RB Justin Forsett (vs LAR)- Not the best of match ups, but his workload should be heavy, with injuries to RB Theo Riddick and with RB D Washington likely out. RB Forsett will split carries with RB Z Zenner, but expect Forsett at all goal line carries.

MIA RB Jay Ajayi ( vs PITT)- RB A Foster is expect to test out his injured hamstring in pregame warmups. This doesn’t sound like a healthy player to me, therefore, expect RB Ajayi to handle most of the backfield. UPDATE: NFL Network is reporting that Arian Foster (hamstring) will play in Sunday’s Week 6 game against the Steelers.

JACK RB TJ Yeldon ( at CHI)- Yeldon was amazingly effective before Jacksonville’s Week 5 Bye, and RB C Ivory was just the opposite. Only owned in 73% of Yahoo leagues.

NE RB James White (vs CINN)- White had nearly 100 total yards in Week 5, playing with QB Tom Brady back from suspension. It’s clear Brady likes White as a weapon. Only owned in 56% of Yahoo leagues.

OAK RBs DeAndre Washington/ Jalen Richard ( vs KC)- Each had 14 touches in Week 5, and RB DeAndre Washington received the goal line carries. RB Latavius Murray is OUT for Week 6.

WR Week 6 Sleepers Fantasy Football

PITT WR Eli Rogers ( at MIA)- With WR Wheaton out and Sammie Coates doubtful, Rogers will play play along with Antonio Brown. – Only owned in 4% of Yahoo leagues.

CHI WR Cameron Meredith ( vs JACK) – Despite hauling in 130 receiving yards and 1 TD in Week 5, WR Cameron Meredith is still only owned in 49% of Yahoo leagues. Great match up.

BALT WR Kamar Aiken- ( at NYG )- Last year when QB Flacco was OUT with injuries, Aiken was the star receiver for the team down the stretch. For some reason, Flacco has not jelled with Aiken, but perhaps in Week 6 he will have to. WR Steve Smith Sr. (ankle) is doubtful for Week 6 against the Giants and WR Mike Wallace is less than 100%.

OAK WR Seth Roberts- While defenses are concentrating on shutting down WRs A Cooper and M Crabtree, Roberts is slipping thru coverages and scoring touchdown. He has 3 TDs in 5 Weeks so far this season.

NO WR Michael Thomas ( vs CAR)- In Week 4, prior to the Saint’s Week 5 Bye,  Thomas caught 4/9 targets for 44 yards and a touchdown Week 4 against the Chargers and  actually led the team in targets.

HOU WR Braxton Miller (vs IND)- WR Will Fuller fantasy football owners are not happy, with Fuller likely out in a senasational match up. Perhaps Miller can ease their pain a little.

TE Week 6 Sleepers Fantasy Football

PITT TE Jesse James ( at MIA)- James has already had good rapport with QB Ben Roethlisberger, and has receiving touchdowns. With injuries to WRs Sammie Coates and Wheaton, his targets should increase in Week 6. Only owned in 47% of Yahoo leagues.

IND TE Dwayne Allen ( at HOU)- The Texans will pressure QB A Luck often which will likely mean quick looks for his Luck’s tight end. Allen has been more involved in the INDY offense of late. Only owned in 68% of Yahoo leagues.

Week 6 Fantasy Football DEF Sleepers

TENN ( vs CLEV)- CLEV QB C Kessler is beat up but will try to start in Week 6. The Titan’s defense are licking their chops.

BUFFALO ( vs SF)– SF QB Colin Kaepernick hasn’t started an NFL game in a year. He will be rusted and he will make mistakes.

Week 5 Sleepers Fantasy Football

Week 5 Sleepers Fantasy Football by Utter-Fantasy Football Writer & Illustrator  Doug Bowles

You may be heading into Week 5 with some fantasy football injury concerns in your line ups, especially in deep leagues and regardless of the league the waiver wire has been picked over. You may also have roster difficulties resulting from the 4 teams on the week 5 Bye. ( JACK, KC, SEATTLE and NEW ORLEANS). Fantasy Sleepers are late-round picks or waiver-wire selections who may exceed their statistical expectations.

Each week Utter-Fantasy tries to find the sleepers which may be available for you, leading up to the NFL Week 5 regular season game. Here are a few player suggestions for especially for those in very deep leagues, or heading into Week 5 with injuries concerns (such as OAK RB Latavius Murray, DAL WR Dez Bryant or DET TE Eric Ebron.)

Week 5 Sleepers Fantasy Football

QB Week 5 Sleepers Fantasy Football

PHIL QB Carson Wentz ( at DET)- Wentz had a bye week in Week, but proved more than capable in Week 3…completing 23/31 passes for 301 yards and two touchdowns. Only owned in 37% of Yahoo leagues. ( Detroit is currently #32 vs the pass….dead last!)

CAR QB Derek Anderson ( vs Tampa Bay)- QB Cam Newton (concussion) is not practicing Friday, leaving Derek Anderson to get the start. The Panthers will release an official injury report Saturday. This is a nice matchup.

CHI QB Brian Hoyer ( at IND)- The Colts defense is bad as usual, currently ranked #30 in the NFL. Hoyer is making the most of his opportunity and could get you through this Bye Week for either JACK, KC, SEATTLE and NEW ORLEANS.

I also like BALT QB F Flacco ( vs WASH) if available.

RB Week 5 Sleepers Fantasy Football

OAK RB DeAndre Washington (vs SD)- My #1 Sleeper for Week 5. RB Latavius Murray (turf toe) is out for Week 5 against the Chargers. Washington is the starter and should be considered a borderline RB2 in a plus matchup.

MIA RB Jay Ajayi ( vs TENN)- Coach Adam Gase said using a four-running back committee the past two weeks was “some bad coaching by me,” and he plans to scrap it. IF he commits to Ajayi, he could have a very good game vs the Titans who are ranked #17 vs the run.

NYJ RB Bilal Powell ( at PITT)- Powell rushed 4/26 yards and caught 6/9 targets for 54 yards in Week 4 in loss to the Seahawks. Powell has now touched the ball 10 times each in Weeks 3 and 4. Powell should be owned in all formats, especially with Forte reportedly carted to the X-rays room after the loss. Only owned in 22% of Yahoo leagues.

CAR RB Fozzy Whitaker  (vs TB)- Fozzy Whittaker caught 9/9 targets for 86 yards and rushed 3 times for 6 yards in Week 4. If QB Cam Newton ( concussion) cannot play in Week 5, the Panthers will likely lean on the rushing game. Whitaker is also the preferred receiving back for Carolina, an option QB Derek Anderson may also lean on.

NYG RB Bobby Rainey- With Rashad Jennings (thumb) expected to sit, Rainey should play a big role Week 5 against the Packers.

TB RB Jacquizz Rodgers- could get the start Monday night if Charles Sims (knee) is not able to play.

WR Week 5 Sleepers Fantasy Football

DAL WR Brice Butler ( vs CINN)- Despite currently boasting the #7 defense in the NFL, the Bengals secondary is vulnerable, and WR Dez Bryant is still not healthy and will sit out Week 5. Butler caught a TD in Week 4, and he will likely get another in Week 5. Also consider WR Terrance Williams- Only owned in 9% of Yahoo leagues.

SD WR Dontrelle Inman- ( at OAK)- Inman caught 7/11 targets for 120 yards and a touchdown in the Chargers’ Week 4 loss to the Saints. ( WR T Benjamin had a costly fumble in the 4th qtr which may have cost the Chargers the game and QB P Rivers trust)

deep league sleeper NYJ WR Robby Anderson- One of the preseason stars, is expected to have a signifcant role in Week 5 with WR Eric Decker’s (shoulder) absence and now it looks like WR Quincy Enunwa (knee) was added to the injury report Friday and is questionable for Week 5 against the Steelers.

deep league sleeper OAK WR Seth Roberts ( vs BALT )- While defenses are concentrating on shutting down WRs A Cooper and M Crabtree, Roberts is slipping thru coverages and scoring touchdown ( 3 TDs in 4 Weeks so far). WR A Cooper has none.

Also consider MINN WRs Charles Johnson and/or C Patterson ( vs HOU) – Both are getting more targets than ever did in the past 2 years, and new QB Sam Bradford and WrR Stefon Diggs do not seem to be on the same page as of yet.  UPDATE:  Stefon Diggs (groin) is doubtful for Week 5 against the Texans.

TE Week 5 Sleepers Fantasy Football

SD TE Antonio Gates ( at OAK)- Gates (questionable, hamstring) will attempt to play Sunday. The last time Gates was out for an extended period of time, QB P Rivers hit his ‘ol buddy for 2 TDs as defenses put their attentions elsewhere that game.

CHI TE Z Miller ( at IND)- Although listed as questionable for Week 5 against the Colts, Miller did practice Friday’s and should be in no danger of missing Sunday’s game in Indy. Miller has snagged 3 touchdowns over his last 2 games.

PHIL TE Zack Ertz ( at DET)-  Ertz (ribs) is practicing in full for Week 5. Ertz will return this week after missing the last two games with a displaced rib.

I also like TB TE C Brate ( at CAR)-

Week 5 Fantasy Football DEF Sleepers

PITT ( vs NYJ)- QB Ryan Fitzpatrick is throwing more INTs than any one else in the league.

GREEN BAY ( vs NYG)– On top of WR Odell Beckham’s tantrums, NYG QB Eli Manning is having having his own bad start to the year, failing to throw a TD pass in 2 of his 4 games so far. ( 4 INTs)

Week 5 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football

Week 5 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football by Utter-Fantasy Football Writer & Illustrator Doug Bowles

It was a tough for injuries to NFL quarterbacks in Week 4 and for fantasy football owners. ARI QB Carson Palmer was escorted to the locker room after his head bounced off the turf late in the game vs the Rams. DEN QB Trevor Siemian suffered a left shoulder (non-throwing) injury in the 2nd qtr. CAR QB Cam Newton could miss Week 5 after taking a helmet-to-helmet hit on a 2pt conversion in the 4th qtr.

NFL injuries are inevitable, and fantasy football owners must roll with the punches and use the waiver wire to survive losses to their rosters and to improve them. Bye weeks can also create many roster problems for fantasy football owners, especially if they did not pay attention to them during the drafts and have many players from their team off on the same bye week.

First Bye Week is in Week 5: Jacksonville, Kansas City, New Orleans and Seattle

Quarterbacks Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 5

DAL QB Dak Prescott ( vs CINN )- Prescott completed 23/32 passes for 245 yards and 2 touchdowns against the 49ers in Week 4. He is currently the #17 QB in the NFL and only owned in 59% of Yahoo leagues.

CHI QB Brian Hoyer ( at IND)- Brian Hoyer completed 28/36 passes for 302 yards, 2 TDs and 0 INTS in the Bears’ 17-14, Week 4 win over the Lions. Nice match up Week 5 vs the Colts. ( Note: Bears coach John Fox said Brian Hoyer could keep the team’s starting job regardless of Jay Cutler’s (thumb) health.)

deep leagues- ARI QB Drew Stanton (at SF)- The Cardinals travel to San Francisco for Thursday Night Football, and with QB Carson Palmer in the league’s mandatory concussion protocol, it’s fairly unlikely that he could play on Thursday.

deeper leagues CAR QB Derek Anderson ( vs TB)-  IF QB Cam Newton cannot participate in Week 5 due to the league’s mandatory concussion protocol, Anderson has a favorable match up in Week 5 and was impressive in his short duty in Week 4 ( 17/23…172 yards and 2 TDs). ( Cam has an extra long week to recover, with the Panthers playing on Monday Night Week 5.)

Running Backs Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 5

CHI RB Jordan Howard ( at IND)- Some fantasy football owners jumped on the Howard train in Week 4 waivers, while others wanted to see proof first. Still owned in 82% of Yahoo leagues. HC John Fox said Jordan Howard was “outstanding” and “we’ll ride him pretty good moving forward.”

BALT RB Terrance West ( vs WASH )- Unless HC J Harbaugh pulls a Bill Belichick, the Ravens might finally have settled on a running back. Terrance West rushed 21 times for 113 yards and a TD in Week 4 vs the Raiders. Only owned in 29% of Yahoo leagues.

MIA RB Jay Ajayi ( vs TENN)- Coach Adam Gase said using a four-running back committee the past two weeks was “some bad coaching by me,” and he plans to scrap it. Fantasy football owners agree!

Whitaker is also the preferred receiving back for Carolina, an option QB Derek Anderson may also lean on.

deeper leagues PHIL RB Darren Sproles/ Wendall Smallwood ( at DET)- Prior to their Week 4 bye, Sproles led the Eagles in Week 4 in targets, catches and receiving yards. He caught all 6 of his targets for 126 yards. In Week 3, Smallwood had 79 yards and a touchdown against Pittsburgh. He is a great speculative add in deeper leagues. ( RB Ryan Mathews was dealing with stiffness and swelling in the ankle he injured prior to training camp and came out of the game in Week 4 and never returned.)

deeper leagues ARI RB Andre Ellington- With RB Chris Johnson (groin, injured reserve) is undergoing sports-hernia surgery, the 2nd RB duties should fall on Ellington.

Wide Receiver Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 5

BALT WR Steve Smith (vs WASH)-  After a slow start, Steve Smith Sr. has 9+ targets in 3 of 4 games. In Week 4 Smith caught 8/11 targets for 111 yards and a TD. Only owned in 63% of Yahoo leagues.

DAL Terrance Williams/ and Brice Butler- Even before WR Dez Bryant’s injury, new QB Dak Prescott was passing the ball around to everyone, including WR Williams. Terrance Williams caught 4/6 targets for 44 yards and a TD in Week 4. Only owned in 9% of Yahoo leagues.   Bruce Butler- Caught 5/9 targets for 41 yards and a TD in Week 4.

IND WR Philip Dorsett ( vs CHI)- Week 4 Utter-Fantasy Waiver Wire Recommendation- WR Donte Moncrief is expected to miss about another month with a broken shoulder blade. Although Dorsett only had one reception in Week 4, it was a 64-yard touchdown catch. Only owned in 53% of Yahoo leagues.

CLEV Terrelle Pryor (vs NE)- An integral part of the Cleveland offense, Pryor has a tough match up in week 5 however. Owned in 82% of Yahoo leagues.

Other candidates-

CHI WR  Eddie Royal ( at IND)- Royal has out-produced disappointing WR Kevin White all season so far, and now White needing an MRI on his injured ankle.

CAR WR Ted Ginn Jr ( vs TB)- WR Devin Funchess left the Week 4 game with a toe injury late in the 4th quarter & did not return. Toe injuries can linger, so Funchess should be considered highly questionable for Week 5.

Tight Ends Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 5

PHIL TE Zach Ertz ( at DET)-  Ertz (ribs) had his MRI came back clear and he plans to play Week 5 against the Lions. Only owned in 63% of Yahoo leagues.

SD  TE Hunter Henry ( at OAK)- –Week 4 Utter-Fantasy Waiver Wire Recommendation- Two nice games in a row for the SD tight end, and likely a very good tight end for fantasy football owners moving forward. Henry caught 4/7 targets for 61 yards and 1 TD in Week 4 against the Saints. Only owned in 30% of Yahoo leagues, but this will drastically change this week. Get him while you can.

CHI TE Zach Miller ( at IND )- Week 4 Utter-Fantasy Waiver Wire Recommendation- new QB Brian Hoyer is on the same page with his TE Miller, who caught 3/3 targets for 31 yards and 1 TD in the Bears’ Week 4 win over the Lions. Only owned in 60% of Yahoo leagues.

TB TE Cameron Brate ( at CAR)- TE ASJ is gone (thankfully) and Brate finally gets the starting gig by himself. 18 targtes in thepast 2 weeks, and 2 TD receptions in Week 3. Tough match up however in Week 5.

GB TE Richard Rodgers ( vs NYG) – Before their Week 4 Bye, the Packers TE Jared Cook suffered a high-ankle sprain Week 3 against the Lions. In Week 3 Rodgers had 2 receptions for 9 yards and 1 TD. UPDATE: Jared Cook (ankle) will not play in Week 5 against the Giants.

More Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 5 coming as the week progresses.

Week 4 Sleepers Fantasy Football

Week 4 Sleepers Fantasy Football by Utter-Fantasy Football Writer & Illustrator  Doug Bowles

You may be heading into Week 4 with some fantasy football injury concerns in your line ups, especially in deep leagues and regardless of the league the waiver wire has been picked over. You may also have roster difficulties resulting from the 2 teams on the week 4 Bye. ( PHIL and GREEN BAY). Fantasy Sleepers are late-round picks or waiver-wire selections who may exceed their statistical expectations.

Each week Utter-Fantasy tries to find the sleepers which may be available for you, leading up to the NFL Week 4 regular season game. Here are a few player suggestions for especially for those in very deep leagues, or heading into Week 4 with injuries concerns (such as TB RB Doug Martin, BUFF WR Sammy Watkins or NYJ WR Eric Decker.)

QB Week 4 Sleepers Fantasy Football

DEN QB Trevor Siemian ( at Tampa Bay)- The new Denver quarterback is getting more comfortable every week, and has plenty of weapons. He completed 23/35 passes for 312 yards and 4 TDs in Week 3’s win over the Bengals. If you have PHIL QB Wentz or GB QB A Rodgers ( bye Week 4), this is a nice matchup.

MINN QB Sam Bradford ( vs NYG)- In only his 1st game with the Vikings, Bradford and Co got one in the “win”column” at Carolina, which ain’t easy.  Bradford went 18/28 for 171 yards and 1 TD ( 0 INTs). If he can that against the Panthers in Carolina, he should do well at home vs the #22 pass defense of the Giants.

RB Week 4 Sleepers Fantasy Football

NYG RB Orleans Darkwa (vs MINN)- RB Shane Vereen will miss the rest of the season with a triceps injury, so RB Orleans Darkwa is a waiver wire pick up once again. He rushed 10 times for 53 yards and a touchdown in the Giants’ Week 3. NOT an ideal match up Week 4 at Minnesota however.

TB Charles Sims ( vs DEN)- The match up was terrible vs the LA Rams in Week 3, but Sims racked up 124 total yards and 1 TD. Another terrible match up but once again, the workload will be huge. Now owned in 82% of Yahoo leagues.

NYJ Bilal Powell ( vs SEA)- The match up is terrible but the Jets are now without WR Eric Decker and Powell had 6 targets in Week 3…those should go up. Powell had 10 touches total in week 3 for 71 total yards.

WR Week 4 Sleepers Fantasy Football

DAL Terrance Williams/ Brice Butler- ( at SF )- It’s looking like WR Dez B will either be out for a few weeks or constantly playing injured. Little WR Cole Beasley is a PPR machine, but he doesn’t get into the endzone. Williams at 6’2″ should take over that role with TE Witten.

NYJ Q Enunwa ( vs SEA )- WR Eric Decker has been rules OUT for Week 4, and likely longer. WR Enunwa will play opposite WR Brandon Marshall.

also NYJ WR Robby Anderson- One of the preseason stars, is expected to serve as the No. 3 receiver in WR Eric Decker’s (shoulder) absence

OAK WR Seth Roberts ( vs BALT )- While defenses are concentrating on shutting down WRs A Cooper and M Cragtree, Roberts is slipping thru coverages and scoring touchdown ( 2 in 3 Weeks so far). WR A Cooper has none.

TE Week 4 Sleepers Fantasy Football

( TEs are the hardest position to try and predict.)

IND TE Doyle ( at JACK in London)- Doyle had a great Week 1, and had the 2nd most receptions and yardage from QB A luck in Week 3. WR D Moncrief ios oiut and Wr P Dorsett is injured.

CHI TE Z Miller ( vs DET) After totaling three catches for 35 yards on 12 combined targets Weeks 1 and 2, Miller caught 8/9 targets for 78 yards and 2 TDs in Week 3 against Dallas. Miller has been more involved since QB Brian Hoyer took over in QB Cutler’s absence and faces the Lions who cannot cover tight ends.

SD  TE Hunter Henry ( vs NO)- Henry caught 5/5 targets for 76 yards in the Chargers’ Week 3 loss to the Colts. TE Antonio Gates (hamstring) “wasn’t close” to suiting up against the Colts, and will likely miss another game.

I also like TE C Brate for the Tampa Bay Bucs.

Week 4 Fantasy Football DEF Sleepers

WASH ( vs CLEV)- Now NFl teams have a week of tape on CLEV rookie QB Cody Kessler. This one shouldn’t be as close as Cleveland made it in Week 3.

LA Rams Defense– Rams should try to capitalize on gun-shy QB C Palmer’s horrific 4 INTs in Week 2, and he has a beat up receiving corps.

K Week 4 Sleepers Fantasy Football

WASH D Hopkins ( vs CLEV )- 11 Field goals in the first 3 Weeks on the NFL season, 0 misses.

SD K Josh Lambo ( vs NO )- The Chargers should be able to move the ball plenty vs the Saints, but it won’t be a surprised if they were stalled a few times near the endzone.

Start Em Sit Em Week 4 2016

Start Em Sit Em Week 4 2016 by Utter-Fantasy Football Writer & Illustrator Doug Bowles

Like other fantasy prognosticators, below are my Start Em Sit Em Week 4 2016 players, minus the obvious. ( No one needs to read that I think fantasy football owners should start WR Antonio Brown at home vs Kansas City) For the Record- I don’t claim to have anymore insight on the games than the fantasy league owners reading these, but I do enjoy sharing my “IMOs” on them, as well as reading yours :) Good Luck this week!

NFL Start Em Sit Em Week 4 2016

Quarterbacks NFL Start Em Week 4 2016

SD QB Philip Rivers (vs NO) – DC Rob Ryan wasn’t the only problem in 2015 for the Saint’s defense. New Orleans D is so bad, every offense is a must start against them.

WASH QB Kirk Cousins ( vs CLEV )- Capt. Kirk is the #2 QB in the NFL for yardage, only behind NO QB D Brees. If the TDs were there, he’d be one of the biggest steals so far in fantasy football drafts.

JACK QB Blake Bortles ( vs IND in London)- The Colts will get DB Patrick Robinson back this week, but they are still bad. Outstanding week for QB Bortles to look like 2015 QB Bortles.

BALT QB Joe Flacco (at BALT ) – Flacco had a great match up Week 3 and did very little with it. At home vs OAK ( #28 vs the pass and run)..if he doesn’t produced, he can’t be recommended again.

I also like HOU QB Brock Osweiler ( vs TENN)

No Brainers….IND A Luck  (at JACK in London)

Running backs NFL Start Em Week 4 2016

NE RB Le Blount ( vs BUFF) – Start the #1 running back in the NFL so far at home.

CINN RB Jeremy Hill (vs MIA) – Hill had 97 rushing yards and 2 TDs vs a very tough Denver defense Week 3. He can do that against Miami Week 4.

SD Melvin Gordon (vs NO) – Few players I wouldn’t recommend Week 4 vs the Saints.

CHI RB Jordan Howard (vs DET) – The rookie fills in for injured RB J Langford and has a good match up vs the #27 Detroit run defense.

NO Brainer: HOU RB Lamar Miller ( vs TENN) and he had better deliver!…DAL Zeke Elliott ( at SF)….PITT RB LeVeon Bell ( vs KC)

I also like NO RB Mark Ingram ( at SD)- IND RB F Gore ( vs JACK in London)

Start Em if you must…….WASH Matt Jones ( vs CLEV)

RB Sleeper: CLEV RB I Crowell ( at WASH)

Wide Receivers NFL Start Em Week 4 2016

WASH WR DeSean Jackson ( vs CLEV ) – Still has the speed to break a deep one at anytime. Currently the #15 WR in the NFL.

JACK Allen Robinson/ Allen Hurns (vs IND ) – One has to be concerned about the slump QB Blake Bortles is in, although at this time last year, he had only thrown 5 TD passes as well. He has to capitalize on this bad INDY secondary.

HOU WR Will Fuller (vs TENN) – 3/7 targets for 31 yards in Week 3, but it would have been more if not for the “drops”. WR Braxton Miller is likely out, so the targets will be there. Great week for Fuller to get back on track.

IND WRs TY Hilton/ P Dorsett ( at JACK in London)- Both should have a very decent game vs a bad Jacksonville defense.

SD WRs T Benjamin/ Tyrell Williams ( vs NO)- Great match up vs a terrible defense.

No Brainers: NO B Cooks ( at SD)…CINN A J Green ( vs MIA)

WR Sleepers: ARI John Brown( vs LAR)….CLEV Terrelle Pryor (at WASH)….NYG WR Sterling Shepard ( at MINN)…DAL WR Brice Butler

Tight Ends NFL Start Em Week 4 2016

CHI TE Zach Miller (vs DET )- Huge game in week 3 ( 78 yards and 2 TDs). QB Cutler didn’t look for TE Miller, but QB B Hoyer does. DET is one of the worst NFL teams defending the TE position.

NO TE Coby Fleener ( at SD)- QB D Brees said that he would get Fleener involved in the offense, and he did just that in Week 3.

SEA TE Jimmy Graham ( at NYJ)- Seeing is believing, and we are seeing the old Jimmy Graham producing finally for fantasy football owners.

DAL Jason Witten ( at SF)- With WR Dez Bryant likely out for 3+ weeks, Witten’s ( and everyone else’s) targets can only go up.

other notable TE starts: IND TEs Allen ( at JACK in London)….SD TE Hunter Henry (5/5 targets for 76 yards Week 3)

No Brainers: )…WASH J Reed ( vs CLEV)…CAR G Olson ( at ATL)

Defenses NFL Start Em Week 4 2016

NEW ENGLAND (vs BUFF) – This Pat’s defense is for real, and QB Tyrod Taylor isn’t very good.

LAR (at ARI) – ARI QB C Palmer is “off his game” of late, throwing 4 INTs in Week 3. I would not be surprised if he threw 3 INTs Week 4.

No Brainer DEF starts: SEA at NYJ….HOU vs TENN

Quarterbacks NFL  Sit Em Week 4 2016

MIA Ryan Tannehill ( at CINN)- The Bengals are still stinging from the whooping they took in Week 3 from the visiting Broncos. I expect the CINN DEF to step up and make it one rough night for MIA Ryan Tannehill.

BUFF Tyrod Taylor ( at NE )- I know he had two long TD throws in Week 2, but I would not start a QB based on two busted-coverage passes. Tough, tough match up.

TN QB J Winston (vs DEN ) – Winston is struggling and he’ll struggle some more vs the pat’s staunch defense.

ARI QB C Palmer (vs LAR) – Palmer is not playing very well…I prefer a better match up.

No Brainers: NYJ Ryan Fitz (at NE)

Running backs NFL Sit Em Week 4 2016

MIA RBs  J Ayayi/ K Drake/ D Williams (at CINN) – Too many getting touches. Can’t start any of them at Cincinnati.

TB Ch Sims/ Jacq Rodgers ( vs DEN) – They are talented but…I prefer a better match up.

WASH RB Matt Jones (vs CLEV) – He may surprise because of the match up, but he has disappointed so far, and I do not expect anything different.

Others I don’t like in Week 4- BALT RBs ( vs OAK)-….J Forsett- T West- K Dixon- Buck Allen ( maybe)…too many to be success for any fantasy football owner but hey, the Ravens are 3-0 so good for them.

Sit Em if you can…….SF RB C Hyde ( vs DAL)….NYJ RB M Forte ( vs SEA)

Wide Receivers NFL Sit Em Week 4 2016

NYJ WR Brandon Marshall  (at SEA) – Marshal is not 100% and WR Eric Decker is likely OUT….and…QB Ryan Fitz is playing terrible. Add all that to a decent Seattle defense and you get a Sit Em.

NE WRs ( vs BUFF) – The Pat’s defense will likely be able to win this one. Whoever is under center for New England will hit WRs Edleman, Amendola, Hogan, TEs Gronk and/or Bennett, and RBs out of the backfield. I am not going to try to figure out which one.

PITT WR Sammie Coates/ Eli Rogers/ M Wheaton (vs KC ) – Of course WR Antonio Brown will have a good game, and TE Jesse James may get a TD reception, but so far in 2015, Coates/Rogers/Wheaton cannot be counted on by fantasy football owners.

KC WR  Jeremy Maclin ( at PITT)- Currently the #40 wide out in the NFL, and you didn’t draft him to be that. ( Only averaging 50 yards- has only 1 TD). The conservative offense in KC just doesn’t give Maclin very many opportunities to put up big games. Start him if you must.

Sit Em if you can…….WR Mike Evans ( vs DEN)

Tight Ends NFL Sit Em Week 4 2016

NE Martellus Bennett (vs BUFF) – Defense and the running game will win this game for the Pats. Buffalo is #2 in the NFL defending the TE position.

PITT TE Jesse James (vs KC)- I put TE James here because KC is so good vs the other tight ends, but James could get a TD reception without many yards to go with it. ( only 2 catches for 10 yards in Week 30

HOU TE  Ryan Griffin ( vs TENN)- Still not a weapon in this offense.

Defenses NFL Sit Em Week 4 2016

ATL (vs CAR) – They couldn’t slow down New Orleans and won’t stop Carolina.

BUFF ( at NE )- This is going to be a very safe game for the Pats, who have already won 3 games in a row without QB Tom Brady.

MIAMI ( at CINN )- I prefer a better match up.

No Brainers: Don’t start INDY, JACK, or OAK

Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 4

Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 4 by Utter-Fantasy Football Writer & Illustrator Doug Bowles

Another week of tough injuries for NFL teams and for fantasy football owners. CHI RB Jeremy Langford was carted off the field with a ankle injury and GB TE Jared Cook suffered an injury to his ankle as well in the Week 3 loss to the Cardinals. NYG RB RB Shane Vereen will miss the rest of the season. SEA QB Russell Wilson came into Week 3 with a banged up right ankle, and he suffered an additional sprained left knee. We’ll know more soon, but he’ll likely play again Week 4. NFL injuries are inevitable, and fantasy football owners must roll with the punches and use the waiver wire to survive losses to their rosters and to improve them.

First Bye Week is in Week 4: Green Bay & Philadelphia

Quarterbacks Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 4

DEN QB Trevor Siemian ( at Tampa Bay)- The new Denver quarterback is getting more comfortable every week, and has plenty of weapons. He completed 23/35 passes for 312 yards and 4 TDs in Week 3’s win over the Bengals. If you have PHIL QB Wentz or GB QB A Rodgers ( bye Week 4), this is a nice matchup.

DAL QB Dak Prescott ( at SF)- Prescott completed 19/24 passes for 248 yards and 2 touchdowns ( 1 pass/ 1 run) and the 49ers defense was exposed Week 3 by the Seahawks who had several injured players participating in this game. Only owned in 44% of Yahoo leagues.

NE Jimmy Garoppolo (vs BUFF)- Garroplo is “definitely making progress” and there is hope he can be ready for Week 4. More updates as the week progresses. ( QB Jacoby Brissett only suffered a sprained thumb but will not require surgery.)

Running Backs Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 4

SEA RB Christine Michael (at NYJ)- SEA HC Pete Carroll said RB Thomas Rawls (fibula) will miss multiple weeks. RB Christine Michael is officially the starter and a must own in all formats.

CHI RB Jordan Howard ( at DET)- RB Jeremy Langford was carted off the field Sunday night and spotted in a walking boot after the game. Howard is a must-add in all formats.

TB RB Charles Sims ( vs DEN)- A very impressive day for Sims, who ran 13 times for 55 yards and a TD, plus catching 6/8 targets for 69 yards in Tampa’s Week 3 loss to the Rams. RB Doug Martin Martin is week to week with a bad hammy.

DET RBs Theo Riddick/ Dwayne Washington- RB Ameer Abdullah (injured reserve) is done for the year with a torn ligament in his foot.

CAR Fozzy Whitaker/ Cameron Artis-Payne ( at ATL) – CAR RB Jonathon Stewart is expected to miss at least a couple games. C. Artis-Payne had 13 touches to Fozzy Whitaker’s 10 touches Week 3, although Whitaker did have a 50+ TD called back on a holding penalty. Nicer match up Week 4.

Wide Receiver Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 4

SD WR Tyrell Williams- An Utter-Fantasy Week 2 Waiver Wire recommendation- LINK– before RB Danny Woodhead’s injury. Williams is a big receiver…6’4″ and 205 lbs. William 6/9 targets for 69 yards in Week 3. Still Only owned in 63% of Yahoo leagues.

IND WR Philip Dorsett ( vs JACK in London)- WR Donte Moncrief is OUT, so WR Phillip Dorsett caught 3/4 targets for 27 yards in the Colts’ Week 3 win over the Chargers. His days will get better as he acclimates to being the clear #2 WR in INDY.

CLEV Terrelle Pryor (at WASH)- This guy did it all in Week 3…Terrelle Pryor caught 8/14 targets for 144 yards in Cleveland’s Week 3 loss to Miami and had a featured role with QB Josh McCown and WR Corey Coleman sidelined. He rotated snaps with QB Cody Kessler at quarterback, rushing for 21 yards on four carries and completing 3/5 passes for 35 yards.

NYG WR Sterling Shepard (at MINN)- More fantasy football points than OBJ- 3 weeks in a row. Owned in 90% of Yahoo leagues.

Other candidates-

deep league option-TB WR Adam Humphries ( vs DEN)- Targets…..Week 1/ 5…..Week 2/ 8…..Week 3/ 12. It looks like QB J Winston has a weapon he prefers over WR V Jackson.

DAL WR Cole Beasley/ Terrance Williams ( at SF)- PPR deep league must own

Tight Ends Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 4

NO TE Coby Fleener ( at SD)- Fleener caught 7/11 targets for 109 yards and 1 TD in Monday night game Week 3. QB D Brees was without WR W Snead and the Falcons shut down WR B Cooks, so Brees looked for Fleener. The connection should continue to grow. Nice match up Week 4 at San Diego.

CHI TE Zach Miller ( vs DET)- After totaling three catches for 35 yards on 12 combined targets Weeks 1 and 2, Miller caught 8/9 targets for 78 yards and 2 TDs in Week 3 against Dallas.

SEA TE Jimmy Graham ( at NYJ) – It took awhile, but Graham might actually be fantasy football relevant again! Graham caught 6/9 targets for 100 yards and a TD in Week 3. Owned in 73% of Yahoo leagues.

More Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 4 coming as the week progresses.

Week 3 Sleepers Fantasy Football

Week 3 Sleepers Fantasy Football by Utter-Fantasy Football Writer & Illustrator  Doug Bowles

You may be heading into Week 3 with some fantasy football injury concerns in your line ups, and regardless of the league, the waiver wire has been picked over. Fantasy Sleepers are late-round picks or waiver-wire selections who may exceed their statistical expectations. Each week Utter-Fantasy tries to find the sleepers which may be available for you, leading up to the NFL Week 3 regular season game. Here are a few player suggestions for especially for those in very deep leagues, or heading into Week 3 with injuries concerns (such as SEA Thomas Rawls, NO WR Willie Snead or recently released TE ASJ)

QB Week 3 Sleepers Fantasy Football

BALT QB Joe Flacco ( at JACK)- Only owned in 29% of Yahoo leagues. Flacco has a match up in Week 3 too tasty to ignore. The Jags are 30th vs the pass. I would start Flacco over Tannehill, Siemian, A Smith and Bradford, to name a few.

RB Week 3 Sleepers Fantasy Football

NYG S Vereen ( vs WASH)- RB Rashad Jennings (thumb) is listed as questionable for Week 3 against the Redskins. Although Vereen is not a 3 down back, he should be in there plenty with QB Eli  Manning. UPDATE: NYG RB Shane Vereen is expected to draw the start with Rashad Jennings (thumb) sidelined for Week 3 against the Redskins.

MIA Jay Ajayi/ K Drake ( vs CLEV)- I have not been big on Ajayi anytime in 2016, but we know RB Arian Foster (groin) has been ruled out for Week 3 versus Cleveland, so Ajayi should get lots of opportunities Week 3 at home vs Cleveland. This is his time to shine. A starting running back only owned in 38% of Yahoo leagues. UPDATE: NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports the Dolphins are “treating Kenyan Drake as the starter today” in the absence of Arian Foster (groin).

TB Charles Sims ( vs LAR)- The match up is terrible vs the LA Rams, but the workload will be huge. Only owned in 38% of Yahoo leagues.

IND R Turbin ( vs SD)- An option is very deep leagues, Robert Turbin rushed 3 times for 10 yards and a touchdown in Week 2.

WR Week 3 Sleepers Fantasy Football

NO Michael Thomas ( vs ATL)- Updating a previous item, Willie Snead (toe) was held out of Saints practice on Friday. The “toe” injury could conceivable indicate that Snead is dealing with a turf-toe sort of injury which is always a big problem. Thomas could finally see plenty of targets in Week 3 if Snead sits or plays sparingly.

NYJ Q Enunwa ( at KC)- Enunwa has been one of QB Ryan Fitzpatrick’s favorite targets all pteseason and into the regular season. WR Brandon Marshall (knee, foot) got in a limited practice Friday and is listed as questionable for Week 3 against the Chiefs.

TENN Tajae Sharpe ( vs OAK)- The Raiders defense is bad, but their offense is good. This is the situation in Week 3 that Sharper should be looking for to really excel and get his first NFL touchdown.

MIA Kenny Stills ( vs CLEV)- The Browns won’t be able to put up much of a fight in Week 3, so the Dolphins can pour it on until they get tired! WR J Landry is a PPR machine, but Stills has been who QB Tannehill has looked for in the endzone. Only owned in 9% of Yahoo leagues.

TE Week 3 Sleepers Fantasy Football

( TEs are the hardest position to try and predict.)

ATL J Tamme ( at NO)- 16 targets over the past 2 weeks. In what “should” be a shoot out, high scoring game… Tamme could serve fantasy football owners very nicely.

GB Jared Cook ( vs DET)- The Lions are currently “the worst NFL vs the Tight End position”. What an opportunity for QB A Rodgers to showcase the Packer’s new TE acquisition.

NO Coby Fleener ( vs ATL) – The Falcons are currently “the 2nd worst NFL vs the Tight End position”. If QB D Brees can’t find Fleener is Week 3, forget it! QB Drew Brees recently said Coby Fleener is “going to be an even bigger part of the offense” once the two find their chemistry.  (Find it already!)

SD Hunter Henry ( at IND) –Chargers TE Hunter Henry will start in Week 3.With Antonio Gates (doubtful, hamstring) sidelined and WR K Allen out, this is Henry’s opportunity.

I also like TE C Brate for the Tampa Bay Bucs.

Week 3 Fantasy Football DEF Sleepers

Miami Defense ( vs CLEV)- Cleveland, hit so hard with injuries, is sending out there 3rd round QB who isn’t close to being ready.

LA Rams Defense– Rams should try to capitalize on gun-shy QB J Winston’s horrific 4 INTs in Week 2, and he is without RB Doug Martin.

K Week 3 Sleepers Fantasy Football

CAR G Gano ( vs MINN)- The Panthers can move the ball, but the Vikings #2 defense might force them to kick a few field goals instead of getting touchdowns.

MIA A Franks ( vs CLEV)- The Miami offense should get plenty of opportunities.

Week 1 Fantasy Football Sleepers list

Start Em Sit Em Week 3 2016

Start Em Sit Em Week 3 2016 by Utter-Fantasy Writer & Illustrator Doug Bowles

Like other fantasy prognosticators, below are my Start Em Sit Em Week 3 2016 players, minus the obvious. ( No one needs to read that I think fantasy football owners should start QB Aaron Rodgers at home vs Detroit) For the Record- I don’t claim to have anymore insight on the games than the fantasy league owners reading these, but I do enjoy sharing my “IMOs” on them, as well as reading yours :) Good Luck this week!

NFL Start Em Sit Em Week 3 2016

Quarterbacks NFL Start Em Week 3 2016

SD Philip Rivers (at IND) – The Colts secondary is in tatters. Rivers will air it out all day Week 3.

ATL Matt Ryan ( at NO)- Your sister could throw 200+ yards against this Saints defense.

BALT Joe Flacco (at Jack ) – What was suppose to be an improved JACK DEF……isn’t. Pass Defense currently ranks 25th. -LINK-

TENN Marcus Mariota ( vs OAK)- Oakland’s pass defense is ranked last according to the Football Insiders. It’s bad!

I also like DAL Dak Prescott ( vs CHI)-

No Brainers….IND A Luck  (vs SD) even without Moncrief  , NO Drew Brees (vs ATL)

Start Em if you must…….MIA Ryan Tannehill ( vs CLEV)

Running backs NFL Start Em Week 3 2016

TENN DeMarco Murray (vs OAK) – Really like Murray at home this week.

LAR Todd Gurley (at TB) – Fantasy football owners have been waiting for weeks for Gurley to payoff for their 1st round selection….this is the match up to do it.

IND Frank Gore ( vs SD) – Gore showed why he still belongs in NFL starting line ups last week at Denver. Tasty match up Week 3.

NO Mark Ingram (vs ATL) – Another match up to good to pass up.

NYG Shane Vereen ( vs WASH)- NYG RB Shane Vereen is expected to draw the start with Rashad Jennings (thumb) sidelined for Week 3 against the Redskins.

other notable RB starts: ATL D Freeman/ Tevin Coleman (at NO) – Can both of these guys have good day, or will they steal too much from each other?

NO Brainer: DAL Zeke Elliott ( vs CHI)

I also like DET Theo Riddick ( at GB)-

Start Em if you must…….NE L Blount ( vs HOU)

Wide Receivers NFL Start Em Week 3 2016

SD Travis Benjamin. Tyrell Williams (at IND) – Playing a very bad INDY defense.

ARI Larry Fitz ( at BUFF ) – QB Carson Palmer’s go-to-guy in the redzone….and his on a roll…keep riding it.

IND TY Hilton/ P Dorsett ( vs SD)- Without WR D Moncrief ( out 4-6 weeks) these two should see a ton of targets.

JACK Allen Robinson/ Allen Hurns (vs BALT ) – Running is going to be almost impossible for the Jags, so expect QB B Bortles to throw Sunday 40-50 times.

BALT Mike Wallace ( at JACK)- QB Joe Flacco was OUT last year when WR Kamar Aiken was putting up big numbers near the end of the season. So far they don’t seem to have chemistry. Wallace and Flacco do.

No Brainers: NO B Cooks ( vs ATL)…PITT A Brown ( at PHIL)

I also like OAK Michael Crabtree ( at TENN)

WR Sleepers: ATL M Sanu ( at NO)….NE J Edleman (vs HOU)

Tight Ends NFL Start Em Week 3 2016

TENN Delanie Walker (at DET )- Walker’s 3/5 targets for 42 yards Week 1 against the Vikings won’t happen in Week 2. Detroit is the worst team right now vs the TE position.

PITT Jesse James ( at PHIL)- Not the best of match ups, but 7 targets in Week 1 and a TD reception in Week 2.

BALT D Pitta ( at JACK)- We will see if Week 2 was an abberation with a decent match up at Jacksonville.

DAL Jason Witten ( vs CHI)- A must win for Dallas on Primetime TV. QB Dak should lean on TE Witten and WR Bryant plenty, unless a solid running game proves all they need.

other notable TE starts: IND TEs Allen/ Jack Doyle- Should see even more targets without WR Moncrief.

No Brainers: TENN Delanie Walker ( vs OAK)…WASH J Reed ( at NYG)…CAR G Olson ( vs MINN)

Defenses NFL Start Em Week 3 2016

MIAMI (vs CLEV ) – The Browns will start third-round QB Cody “who” Kessler Week 3 against the Dolphins. I hope the Browns get some good news soon.

DALLAS (vs CHI) – How many times will the Dallas DEF pick off QB B Hoyer?

LAR (at TB) – TB QB J Winston has throw 5 INTS in just the two games this season.

No Brainer DEF starts: SEA vs SF….CAR vs MINN

Quarterbacks NFL  Sit Em Week 3 2016

BUFF Tyrod Taylor ( vs ARI )- I know he had two long TD throws in Week 2, but I would not start a QB based on two busted-coverage passes. Tough, tough match up.

KC Alex Smith (vs NYJ ) – Capt. Deacon Dunk will likely post in Week 3 what he posted in Week 2. Around 200 yards and 0 TDs. ( Even one TD won’t help much)

TB J Winston (vs LAR) – Winston looked REALLY bad in Week 2 throwing 4 INTS vs a tough Arizona defense. Tough defense this week as well.

Sit Em if you can…….A Dalton ( vs DEN)…HOU B Osweiler ( at NE)

No Brainers: Sit SF B Gabbert ( at SEA)

Running backs NFL Sit Em Week 3 2016

MINN  J McKinnon/ M Asiata (at CAR) – A nice waiver wire pick up but this isn’t the week to start him. ( or Asiata)

TB CH Sims/ Jacq Rodgers ( vs LAR) – More interesting waiver wire pick ups but as above….not the week to start either of them.

JACK TY Yeldon (vs BALT) – The Ravens are 4th best against the run and RB Chris Ivory is due back for a few carries.

Others I don’t like in Week 3- BUFF L McCoy ( vs ARI)…SEA T Rawls ( vs WASH)

Sit Em if you can…….RB J Hill ( vs DEN)…HOU L Miller ( at NE)….SEA T Rawls/ C Michael ( vs SF)

Wide Receivers NFL Sit Em Week 3 2016

SF ALL WRS (at SEA) – Low scoring game for the 49ers. A lot of RB C Hyde.

TENN Rishard Matthews ( vs OAK) – Currently the #86 wide out in the NFL with only 7 receptions on 10 measly targets.

CHI Alshon Jeffrey (at DAL ) – If I’m Dallas, the only player I am really worried about is Alshon Jeffrey, so I am going to shut him down.

BUFF Sammy Watkins ( vs ARI)- He says his foot is OK. It’s still not.

Sit Em if you can…….AJ Green ( vs DEN)

Tight Ends NFL Sit Em Week 3 2016

CHI Zach Miller (at DAL) – There is no one in Chicago I recommend in Week 3.

CLEV G Barnidge (at MIA)- Talented Barnidge couldn’t put any points w/ QB RG3 or QB McCown. Very doubtful he does with whoever Cleveland throws out there Week 3.

BUFF Charles Clay (vs ARI) – What have you done for me lately- Nothing!

KC T Kelce (vs NYJ)-  Always a tight end drafted too soon, only 34 receiving yards in Week 2- zero TDs in 2016.

SD A Gates ( at IND)- Gates is dealing with a hamstring injury, He may not even suit up.

Defenses NFL Sit Em Week 3 2016

ATL (at NO) – Should be high scoring game.

PHIL ( vs PITT)- The Steelers are playing so well, they can probably put up nice points on anyone,

TENN ( vs OAK )- I prefer a better match up.

No Brainer Sits: CLEV ( at MIA)

Good Luck Week Three!

START EM SIT EM WEEK 2 2016

Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 3

Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 3 by Utter-Fantasy Football Writer & Illustrator Doug Bowles

Another week of tough injuries for NFL teams and for fantasy football owners. SD RB Danny Woodhead was carted off the field with a knee injury and TB RB Doug Martin left and never returned. Bad news out of New England, where QB Jimmy Garropolo was injured after a hot start to the games, and he might be available for Week 4. NFL injuries are inevitable, and fantasy football owners must roll with the punches and use the waiver wire to survive losses to their rosters and to improve them.

First Bye Week is in Week 4: GB-PHIL

Quarterbacks Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 3

Deep leagues…HOU QB Brock Osweiler- The new Houston quarterback is getting more comfortable every week, and has plenty of weapons. He completed 22-of-35 passes for 231 yards and two touchdowns in Week 1. In Week 2, Osweiler 19-of-33 passes for 268 yards & one touchdown ( 2 INTS). Tough game Week 3 at New England however.

Deep leagues…LAR QB Case Keenum- I’m not sure what situation you’d be in to have to start QB Keenum…BUT…..it was a laugher Week 2 for Arizona taking on Tampa Bay ( 7-40 ) and the Bucs are hosting the Rams Week 3.

Deep leaguesCHI QB Brian Hoyer– CHI QB Jay Cutler left week 2 with a hand injury. More info on Tues/ Wed.

Deep leaguesNE QB Jacoby Brissett– completed 6-of-9 passes for 92 yards in the Patriots’ Week 2 win over the Dolphins. At home Week 3 vs Houston.

Running Backs Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 3

MINN RB Jerick McKinnon/ Matt Asiata- McKinnon got all of his snaps after Adrian Peterson left with a knee injury. McKinnon is the favorite to start if Peterson is out. Owned in 23 percent of Yahoo leagues. RB Matt Asiata will rotate in some, and likely get goal line carries. UPDATE: Peterson has a torn meniscus and is out indefinitely.

CAR Fozzy Whitaker/ Cameron Artis-Payne- CAR HC Panthers coach Ron Rivera said RB Jonathan Stewart (hamstring) will miss “at least a week or two.” Fozzy Whittaker put up 100 yards Sunday with Stewart sidelined and should get upcoming goal line carries

NYG RB Shane Vereen ( vs WASH)- NYG RB Shane Vereen is expected to draw the start with Rashad Jennings (thumb) sidelined for Week 3 against the Redskins.

TB RB Charles Sims- RB Doug Martin said he suffered a tweaked hamstring in the Week 2 loss to the Cardinals. Hammy’s do not heal quickly. RB Sims will be an RB2 for Week 3 against the Rams if Martin is inactive. Tough match ups however Weeks 3 & 4 ( LA Rams and Denver)

DET RBs Theo Riddick/ Dwayne Washington- X-Rays on DET RB Ameer Abdullah’s injured foot came back negative, but he’ll likely miss some times, perhaps two games.

CLEV RB Isaiah Crowell- Many fantasy football owners drafted RB Duke Johnson before Crowell, which may have been a mistake. Duke is better in the passing game, where Crowell is a better pounder and likely to get more goal line carries. Only owned in 62% of Yahoo leagues. Crowell rushed for 133 yards and 1 TD on 18 carries Wee k2. ( one carry went for 85 yards- TD!)

ATL RB Tevin Coleman- Coleman rushed 12 times for 46 yards and a touchdown and caught two passes for 25 yards in the Falcons’ Week 2- still only owned in 56% of Yahoo leagues.

SEA RB Christine Michael- In Week 2, Michael rushed 10 times for 60 yards in the Seahawks’ loss to the Rams. He caught 3/4 targets for 26 yards. RB Thomas Rawls suffered a leg bruise in the Week 2. Only owned in 59% of Yahoo leagues.

SD RB Farrow- The Chargers lost a playmaker for the second straight week. Running back Danny Woodhead was helped off the field in the first quarter and taken to the locker room on a cart. Farrow had 4 carries for 13 yards in Week 2.

Wide Receiver Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 3

SD WR Tyrell Williams- An Utter-Fantasy Week 2 Waiver Wire recommendation- LINK– before RB Danny Woodhead’s injury. Someone has to step up for the Chargers with WR Allen out, and Williams is a big receiver…6’4″ and 205 lbs. William caught 3/6 targets for 61 yards and 1 TD in Week 2.

IND WR Philip Dorsett- WR Donte Moncrief will have an MRI on his shoulder Monday and coud be forced to miss any time. Dorsett would become a must own. After a rough start, the Colts now face San Diego at home, at Jacksonville, then home vs Chicago….nice! UPDATE: Coach Chuck Pagano announced Donte Moncrief will miss 4-6 weeks with a fractured scapula.

NYJ WR Quincy Enunwa- This guy has been impressive in the preseason and in both regular season games. QB Ryan Fitz loves throwing to him. Enunwa caught 6/6 targets for 92 yards in the Jets’ Week 2 win over the Bills. ( Note: Brandon Marshall (knee) was banged up in Week 2 and not seen at the start of practice on Monday.)

MINN WR Stefon Diggs- Finally, Diggs is helping fantasy football owners as expected a year ago. Clearly, new QB Bradford’s favorite weapon so far. Owned 85 % in Yahoo leagues.

NYG WR Sterling Shepard- I’ve been beating the drum on this guy since the preseason. Shepard caught all 8 of his targets for 117 yards Sunday in the Giants’ Week 2. PPR must own.

SEA WR Jermaine Kearse- Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said Tyler Lockett suffered a sprained knee Week 2. If Lockett misses time, Kearse’s targets double. Kearse caught 2-of-6 targets for 11 yards in the Seahawks’ Week 2 loss to the Rams. SF up for the Seahawks Week 3.

LAR Kenny Britt– It sometimes a few games to see which wide receiver a quarterback is going to lean on. Granted, coverage from Seattle Week 2 may have dictated this, but Kenny Britt saw a team-high 10 targets to post a 6-94 line. Only owned in 3% of yahoo leagues.

Deep leagues…..CHI Eddie Royal- Utter-Fantasy Sleeper Week 2- LINK- especially good pick up if return yards count in your league. ( 65 yd TD return Week 2)

Other good candidates-

CLEV WR Corey Coleman- Only owned in 69% of Yahoo leagues. ( Who will throw to him however?)

DAL WR Cole Beasley- PPR deep league must own

Tight Ends Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 3

SF TE Vance McDonald- An Utter-Fantasy “Start Em” who found the endzone in Week 1 and in Week 2. ( a great 75 reception that he took to the house for a TD) QB B Gabbert relies on McDonald a lot, so perhaps fantasy football owners can as well.

BALT TE Dennis Pitta- QB Joe Flacco has always relied on his tight ends as offensive weapons. Pitta finally saw extensive action Week 2, catching 9/12 targets for 102 yards in the Ravens’ Week 2 win over the Browns.

PITT TE Jesse James- Jesse James caught 3/5 targets for 29 yards and a touchdown Week 2. Only owned in 25% of Yahoo leagues, fantasy football owners are not paying attention to this guy.

ATL TE Austin Hooper- Maybe it’s finally starting to happen between QB Matt Ryan and TE Austin Hooper. 3 catches for 84 yards.

Deep Deep league JACK TE Marcedes Lewis- An Utter-Fantasy Week 2 Waiver Wire recommendation- LINK– and another TD Week 2.

More Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 3 coming as the week progresses.

Week 2 Fantasy Football Sleepers 2016

Week 2 Fantasy Football Sleepers 2016 by Utter-Fantasy Football Writer & Illustrator  Doug Bowles

Fantasy Sleepers are late-round picks or waiver-wire selections who may exceed their statistical expectations. Each week Utter-Fantasy tries to find the sleepers which may be available for you, which we include in our weekly “Waiver Wire” reports, but for the time leading up to the NFL Week 2 regular season game, here are a few player suggestions for especially for those in deep leagues, or heading into Week 2 with injuries concerns (such as PHIL TE Zach Ertz, JACK RB Chris Ivory or IND DEF without three starting DBs Week 2-CB Patrick Robinson OUT)

Week 2 Fantasy Football QB Sleeper

DEN QB Trevor Siemian- completed 18/26 passes for 178 yards, one touchdown in Week 1, but faces a really beat up Colts defense..without 3 starting DBs in Week 2. If you had MINN QB Teddy Bridgewater or RG3 ( or have Cutler)…Siemian might not be a bad replacement Week 2.

Week 2 Fantasy Football RB Sleepers

KC RB Spencer Ware- RB Jamaal Charles is said to be close to 100% healthy- HE’S NOT.

DET Theo Riddick- A Utter-Fantasy sleeper Week 1 ( 108 total yards and 2 TDs). keep riding the Riddick Train.

ATL RB Tevin Coleman- HC Quinn is RBBC, whether it’s working or not for Falcon wins – ( It’s not). Tevin Coleman rushed 8 times for 22 yards and caught 5/6 targets for 95 yards in the Week 1.

JACK TJ Yeldon- This Alabama Crimson Tide RB is more Richardson than Lacy in my opinion, but he’ll get plenty of opportunities in Week 2 with RB Chris Ivory still shelved.

Week 2 Fantasy Football WR Sleepers

NYG Stering Shepard ( vs NO)- This match up is too good to ignore.

NE WR Chris Hogan- 4/5 targets for 60 yards and a touchdown in Week 1, and he’s only getting more comfortable with this offense. Amendola has dropped in the receiving corps pecking order. When Brady comes back, watch out. ( UPDATE: Chris Hogan (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Week 2- practice participation was downgraded to “limited” on Friday….but this Belichick remember where everyone is “questionable” )

SD WR Travis Benjamin/ Tyrell Williams- The Chargers are without WR Keenan Allen for the rest of the season so Benjamin and Williams really need to step up. PPR must owns.

PITT WR Eli Rogers- Utter-Fantasy sleeper in Week 1, Rogers finished with 6/7 targets for 59 yards and a TD. Wheaton has never lived up to any of QB Roethlisberger’s expectations.

CAR WR Ted Ginn Jr- The preseason proved that this guy is still a big part of this offense ( #24 WR in 2015). I’d start Ginn over Funchess.

CHI WR Eddie Royal- QB Cutler ‘s man from back in the Denver days. 4/6 targets for 57 yards and a TD in Week 1.

Week 2 Fantasy Football TE Sleepers

( TEs are the hardest position to try and predict!)

DEN TE Virgil Green- WR Demaryius Thomas is less than 100% and the Colts are without three of their starting corners. Green helped Siemian in the preseason, and was targeted 5 times in Week 1.

IND TE Jack Doyle- After 2 Week 1 TDs, you knew you’d see Doyle’s name here. QB A Luck is used to having 2 TEs as weapons. Doubtful that he ever has many yards to go with his TDs, but definitely a red zone target.

PITT TE Jesse James- Pretty surprising to see that he is only owned in 23% of Yahoo Leagues. Cincinnati may force Big Ben to throw quick, which means targets for James.

I also like PHIL TE Brent Celek with Ertz OUT.

TE C Brate for the Tampa Bay Bucs.

Week 2 Fantasy Football DEF Sleepers

Philadelphia Defense– The Eagles go against mistake-prone CHI QB Jay Cutler

Jacksonville Defense– This is a great opportunity to show everyone that their defense had improved….as QB P Rivers HATES being without WR Kennan Allen, and forced the ball/ fell apart after Allen’s injury in 2015- with the lead in 2nd half of Week 1.

Week 1 Fantasy Football Sleepers list

Start Em Sit Em Week 2 2016

Start Em Sit Em Week 2 2016 by Utter-Fantasy Writer & Illustrator Doug Bowles

Like other fantasy prognosticators, below are my Start ‘ Em & Sit ‘ Em players, minus the obvious. ( No one needs to read that I think fantasy football owners should start QB Cam Newton this week at home vs San Francisco ) For the Record- I don’t claim to have anymore insight on the games than the fantasy league owners reading these, but I do enjoy sharing my “IMOs” on them, as well as reading yours :) Good Luck this week!

NFL Start Em Sit Em Week 2 2016

Quarter Backs
Start ‘Em

NYG Eli Manning (vs N.O.) – QB start of the week. Manning has lots of weapons, and plays at home vs one of the worst defenses ( still) in the NFL.

DET Matt Stafford (vs TENN) – Now that QB Stafford doesn’t feel compelled to feed Megatron, he is passing it around plenty.

BALT Joe Flacco (at CLEV ) – It’s all about the match up, and this one is a tasty one for the Ravens. Flacco needs to get WR K Aiken involved, and go to his healthy tight ends.

SD Philip Rivers (vs JACK ) – QB Rivers is going to miss WR Keenan Allen over the course of the season, but not in this game.

other notable QB starts: NE J Garropolo ( vs MIA), HOU B Osweiler (vs KC)

No Brainers….OAK D Carr (vs ATL), ARI C Palmer (vs TB)

Running Backs
Start ‘Em

DEN CJ Anderson (vs IND) – Anderson proved he’s the man for HC Kubiak and the Colts defense is bad.

SD Danny Woodhead (vs JACK) – Fantasy football owners of Woodhead should be licking their chops at this match up.

PITT DeAngelo Williams ( vs CINN) – Not as tasty a match up as in Week 1, but he should find the endzone at least once, and yardage to go with it.

KC Spence Ware (at HOU) – Ware won’t match what he did in Week 1, but he’ll will get lots of touches, rushing and receiving and the goal line attempts.

DET Theo Riddick (vs TENN) – A PPR machine who found the endzone twice in Week 1. QB Stafford trusts Riddick plenty.

other notable RB starts: NE L Blount ( vs MIA), TENN D Murray ( at DET), MINN AP (vs GB), NYJ M Forte (at BUFF)

NO Brainer: ARI David Johnson (vs TB), AP ( vs GB)…you have to start him!)

Wide Receivers
Start ‘Em

OAK A Cooper/ M Crabtree (vs ATL) – The Saints lit up the hideous Falcon defense, and so will the Raiders.

JACK Allen Robinson/ Allen Hurns (at SD ) –Neither of these two receivers had a TD in Week 1, but I would be shocked if both don’t have at least one each in Week 2.

ARI Larry Fitz ( vs TB ) – QB Carson Palmer’s go-to-guy in the redzone….and this match up has them both drooling.

HOU De Hopkins/ Will Fuller (vs KC ) – This is going to be a great game to watch, with QB Osweiler airing it out often.

ATL M Sanu ( at OAK)- The Raiders will put up lots of points in this one, so QB M Ryan will have to throw it 30-40 times. Sanu had an impressive TD reception in Week 1.

No Brainers: CINN AJ Green ( at PITT)- The Steeler defense may give you second thoughts about starting Green, but Pittsburgh’s secondary can be burned.  NYG OBJ ( vs NO)

I like….A rebound week for WR Emmanuel Sanders ( vs IND)- WR Demaryius Thomas is less than 100% and the Colts are without three of their starting corners.

WR Sleepers: NYG Stering Shepard ( vs NO), TENN Tajae Sharpe ( at DET), PITT Eli Rogers

Tight Ends
Start ‘Em

TENN Delanie Walker (at DET )- Walker’s 3/5 targets for 42 yards Week 1 against the Vikings won’t happen in Week 2. Detroit is the worst team right now vs the TE position.

DEN Virgil Green ( vs IND)- At home, WR Demaryius Thomas is hurting, and the best safety blanket for a new QB is a talented tight end like Green. Indy is 5th worst defending TEs.

JACK Julius Thomas ( vs SD )- The Chargers are 6th worst defending TEs, and Thomas found the endzone in Week 1.

IND TEs Allen/ Jack Doyle- The INDY WRs are “Sits” for me this week, so if QB Luck has any chance, I think it is with his TEs.

other notable TE starts: PITT Jesse James ( vs CINN). NYG L Donnell ( vs NO)

Defense
Start ‘Em

BALT (at CLEV ) – QB J McCown’s first start since QB RGIII is out. The Ravens are #3 vs the run, #3 vs the pass in 2016.

NE (vs MIA) – The Pats gave the Cardinals all they could handle in Week 1, now they are home.

PHIL (at CHI) – The Eagles are currently the #4 defense, and the Bears are not very good.

No Brainer DEF starts: DEN vs IND

Quarter Backs
Sit ‘Em

BUFF Tyrod Taylor ( vs NYJ )- I probably wouldn’t recommend starting Taylor even if  WR Sammy Watkins were healthy ( which he isn’t)

SF Blaine Gabbert (at CAR) – The Panthers are fighting mad after what happened last post-season, and in Week 1. They will take it out on Gabbert Week 2.

MIA Ryan Tannehill (at NE) – Another “Sit’ week for Tannehill, and most of the weapons in Miami.

CHI Jay Cutler (vs PHIL) – Jay Cutler was the #22 quarterback in Week 1, with only 216 yards passing. Another tough week for him.

WASH Kirk Cousins ( vs DAL)- I am not starting him until he proves he’s better than that hideous performance in Week 1.

No Brainers: CLEV Josh McCown (vs BALT)- McCown may surprise this week, but you have better options to start.

Running Backs
Sit ‘Em

IND F Gore (at DEN) – RB “Sit” of the Week. The Colts simply don’t give this guy enough opportunities, and it’s DENVER!

WASH Matt Jones ( vs DAL) – A better receiving RB than a rushing RB, but unfortunately, QB Kirk Cousins won’t look for him out if the backfield. Very frustrating.

MIA A Foster (at NE) – RB Arian Foster is likely the one guy the HC Belichick is worried about breaking one, so he will game plan against him.

Others I don’t like in Week 2- BUFF L McCoy ( vs NYJ),

ATL D Freeman ( at OAK)- Atlanta HC Quinn likely won’t have a job very long. Lost at home vs TB for crying out loud…..lost with a RBBC…and announced..”still doing it.”

Wide Receivers
Sit ‘Em

SF ALL WRS (at CAR) – Low scoring game for the 49ers. A lot of RB C Hyde.

MIA Kenny Stills ( at NE) – WR Jarvis Landry will likely help PPR owners, but Stills needs a TD to help fantasy football owners, and that’s probably not coming in Week 2.

MINN St Diggs (vs GB ) – 103 yards in Week 1, but this Packer defense is pretty good, and we don’t know who the Vikings quarterback is yet, but not sure it matters. ( IF QB Shaun Hill starts again, then maybe)

WR Tavon Austin (vs SEA) – ONLY 13 yards receiving in Week 1, and with SEA QB Russell Wilson less than 100%, the Seahawks defense will be asked to do a lot.

BUFF Sammy Watkins ( vs NYJ)- He says his foot is OK. ( I doubt it)

Others I don’t like in Week 2- IND WRs, CLEV WRs

Tight Ends
Sit ‘Em

ATL Jacob Tamme (at OAK) – QB Matt Ryan hasn’t looked at TEs way since Tony Gonzalez. The Raiders are currently 2nd best vs the TE.

TB Austin Seferian-Jenkins (vs ARI)- He found the endzone in Week 1, but tough seeing him do it at Arizona. ( 6th best team vs the TE.)

BUFF Charles Clay (at NYJ) – What have you done for me lately- Nothing! ( and he’s hurt.)

SEA TE Jimmy Graham-  One catch for 11 yards in Week 1

Defense
Sit ‘Em

MIA (at NE) – The Dolphins won’t slow down the Pats in Week 2, even with QB J Garropolo in only his 2nd game.

NYG ( vs NO)- The Giants will likely win this game, but they will give up plenty of yardage to the Saints.

MINN ( vs GB )- I prefer a better match up.

No Brainers: SF ( at CAR)

Good Luck Week Two!

Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 2

Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 2 by Utter-Fantasy Writer & Illustrator Doug Bowles

Keenan Allen suffered a torn right ACL Sunday in Week 1 against the Chiefs. It is a tough blow for the Chargers and for fantasy football owners of Allen. Bad news out of Buffalo, where WR Sammy Watkins (foot) “could be shut down for several weeks” because of “severe discomfort” in his surgically-repaired foot. NFL injuries are inevitable, and fantasy football owners must roll with the punches and use the waiver wire to survive losses to their rosters and to improve them.

First Bye Week is in Week 4: GB-PHIL

Quarterbacks Waiver Wire Week 2

NE Jimmy Garropolo- If you got BUFF QB Tyrod Taylor in any of your drafts, his 15-of-22 passes for 111 yards and 0 touchdowns in Week 1 likely gave you reason to regret that pick. It’s also looking like Taylor has lost his main weapon in WR Sammy Watkins. Garroplo on the other hand produced 264 passing yards and one touchdown on 24-of-33 passing while contributing four rushes for 12 yards in the Patriots’ Week 1 win over the Cardinals. He has 3 more starts.

HOU Brock Osweiler- The new Houston quarterback is getting more comfortable every week, and has plenty of weapons. He completed 22-of-35 passes for 231 yards and two touchdowns in Week 1.

Deep leagues….CLEV QB Josh McCown- Horrible news for the Browns…placing QB Robert Griffin III on injured reserve with a broken bone in his non-throwing shoulder.

Running Backs Waiver Wire Week 2

KC RB Spencer Ware- Utter-Fantasy’s #1 sleeper for Week 1, and Ware produced in a big way. RB J Charles still is not close to starting.

DET RB Theo Riddick- Another succesful sleeper pick  Utter-Fantasy in Week 1. Theo Riddick rushed seven times for 45 yards and a touchdown and caught 5-of-5 targets for 63 yards and another touchdown in the Lions’ Week 1 win over the Colts.

TB RB Charle Sims- The very quiet #21 RB for 2015, with over 1000 total yards and 4 TDs. Charles Sims rushed four times for nine yards, but caught 3-of-3 targets for 32 yards and a touchdown in the Bucs’ Week 1 win over Atlanta.

SD RB Danny Woodhead- With WR Keeenan Allen out, Woodhead should see even more action- Only owned in 78% of Yahoo leagues.

CLEV RB Isaiah Crowell- Many fantasy football owners drafted RB Duke Johnson before Crowell, which may have been a mistake. Duke is better in the passing game, where Crowell is a better pounder and likely to get more goal line carries. Only owned in 59% of Yahoo leagues.

ATL Tevin Coleman- Unfortunately for RB Devonta Freeman owners, it looks like an equal split of touches in Atlanta. ( they lost to Tampa in Week 1, so it’s not a formula that worked) Until they commit to Freeman, Coleman is a real option,  rushing eight times for 22 yards and caught 5-of-6 targets for 95 yards.

deep leagues- JACK RB Denard Robinson- RB Chris Ivory’s injury looks serious. We don’t know much, but if Ivory is out for an extended period of time, someone has to help RB T J Yeldon’s workload.

Wide Receiver Waiver Wire Week 2

NO WR Willie Snead– Utter-Fantasy’s #1 waiver wire wide out going into Week 2. Snead caught 9-of-9 targets for 173 yards and a touchdown in New Orleans’ Week 1 loss to the Raiders. With the Saints likely down in every game due to their bad defense, Snead could be a good option on a weekly basis. Only owned in 80% of Yahoo leagues.

ATL Mohamed Sanu- Utter-Fantasy predicted prior to the regular season that Sanu could see 80-90+ targets in 2016. In Week 1, Sanu had 8 targets/ 5 catches for 80 yards and 1 TD, including a two-point conversion reception. ( Note: Mohamed Sanu was seen by reporters “limping heavily” following Sunday’s loss)

CAR Ted Ginn Jr– You did not see it much in Week 1, but Ted Ginn Jr (the #25 WR for 2015) is still a big part of this offense.

HOU Tajae Sharpe- Although he did not score in Week 1, Sharpe made some fantasy football owners in PPR leagues. Sharpe hauled in 7-of-11 targets for 76 yards in Week 1.

NE Chris Hogan- The Pat’s new wide out caught 3/4 targets for 60 yards and a touchdown Sunday in the Patriots’ Week 1 win over the Cardinals. He is the clear #2 behind WR Edleman. Only owned in 31% of Yahoo leagues.

SD WR Tyrell Williams- Someone has to step up for the Chargers with WR Allen out, and Williams is a big receiver…6’4″ and 205 lbs. He caught 2/5 targets for 71 yards in the Chargers’ Week 1 loss to the Chiefs.

PITT WR Eli Rogers- An Utter-Fantasy “Sleeper” for Week 1 who found the endzone in Week 1nad who was targeted a lot.

Other decent candidates- deep leagues

NYJ WR Quincy Enunwa- Keep an eye on this guy. Huge part of the Jet’s offense in the preseason, and had 7 catches in Week 1 for 54 yards and 1 TD.

CINN  Brandon LaFell- Fantasy football owners were not sure about Lafell, because he played so little of the preseason. LaFell played 55/57 snaps Week 1 against the Jets…11 more than rookie Tyler Boyd. He is clearly the No. 2 option in the passing game with Tyler Eifert (ankle) sidelined.

Tight Ends Waiver Wire Week 2

SF TE Vance McDonald- An Utter-Fantasy “Start Em” who found the endzone in Week 1. QB B Gabbert  relies on McDonald a lot, so perhaps fantasy football owners can as well.

DET TE Eric Ebron- As a Lion’s fan, I am still sizzling from Detroit’s selection of TE Eric Ebron in the 2014 NFL Draft, passing on WRs Odell Beckham Jr, Brandon Cooks and Kelvin Benjamin, to name a few. Ebron however, is staying healthy and becoming a part of the offense. 5/5 targets for 46 yards and a TD in Week 1 ( which may be his ceiling)

PITT TE Jesse James- After one week, the Steelers receiving corps pecking order looks like WR Antonio Brown ( duh), WR Eli Rogers, TE Jesse James and WR Sammie Coates

DEN TE Virgil Green- 5 targets in Week 1

PHIL TE Brent Celek- The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Zach Berman reports Zach Ertz (ribs) could miss an “extended period.”

Deep league IND TE Jack Doyle– We know QB Andrew Luck is used to having 2 TEs as weapons. In Week 1, Doyle caught 3/4 targets for 35 yards, 2 of them going for TDs. ( I won’t expect 2 TDs again however)

Deep Deep league JACK TE Marcedes Lewis- Perhaps more trusted by QB B Bortles than in #3 WR Marqise Lee. Lewis had 2 receptions for 48 yards but also caught on of QB Bortles TD passes.

NFL Week 1 Fantasy Football Sleepers

NFL Week 1 Fantasy Football Sleepers by Utter-Fantasy Football Writer & Illustrator  Doug Bowles

Fantasy Sleepers are late-round picks or waiver-wire selections who may exceed their statistical expectations. Each week Utter-Fantasy tries to find the sleepers which may be available for you, which we include in our weekly “Waiver Wire” reports, but for the time leading up to the NFL Week 1 regular season game, here are a few player suggestions for especially for those in very deep leagues, or heading into Week 1 with injuries concerns (such as WR Will Fuller in  Houston, RB Jamaal Charles in Kansas City or WR Kevin White in Chicago)

Fantasy Football RB Sleepers

KC RB Spencer Ware- RB Jamaal Charles isn’t playing and Ware is only owned  in 73% of Yahoo Leagues.

SEA RB Christine Michael- HC Pete Carroll said that he was going to “take RB Thomas Rawls slowly through th first few games. that means plenty of carries for Christine Michael, so why is only owned in 60% of Yahoo Leagues?

DET Theo Riddick- A 3rd down back who could have some value in PPR leagues. Only owned in 33% of Yahoo Leagues.

PHIL RB Darren Sproles- A 3rd down back that the fantasy football community has forgotten, could have some value in PPR leagues.

WASH RB Rob Kelley- was the star of the preseason, while Matt Jones barely touched the ball. Don’t be surprised if Kelley is the lead back sooner rather than later. Deep League Pick up

Fantasy Football WR Sleepers

BALT WR Kamar Aiken- This wide receiver came on strong at the end of last year, and very likely is the #1 wide out for the Ravens. WR Smith Smith hasn’t had one minute of action, and Mike Wallace disappoints year after year. Only owned in 60% of Yahoo Leagues.

HOU WR Braxton Miller- WR Will Fuller is dealing with a hamstring injury, and they don’t go away over night. HOU WR Braxton Miller is next up in the depth chart, after Houston released WR Cecil Shorts. Only owned in 5% of Yahoo Leagues.

SD WR Travis Benjamin- QB Philip Rivers told reporters that Benjamin was the fastest wide out that he had ever played with. Benjamin will be a nice deep ball threat all season.

PITT WR Eli Rogers- Ben Roethlisberger believes slot WR Eli Rogers can help take pressure off Antonio Brown. Rogers will open the year in three-receiver sets, kicking Markus Wheaton outside and Sammie Coates to the bench.

CHI WR Eddie Royal- Hardly a surprise….Kevin White (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Week 1 vs HOU. Will we be writing this about White every year? QB Jay Cutler’s days with WR Royal go back to Denver. PPR sleeper.

Fantasy Football TE Sleepers

BALT TE Dennis Pitta- TE Dennis Pitta (dislocated finger) will not only play but start. We know QB Joe Flacco likes to throw to his tight ends, especially in the redzone.

NE TE Martellus Bennett- Rob Gronkowski (hamstring) has been officially ruled out for Week 1. Gronk was originally listed as questionable despite not traveling with the team to Arizona.

SF TE Vance McDonald- The best security blanket for QB Blaine Gabbert is the tight end. McDonald made some nice plays in the preseason, and with journeyman WR J Kerley listed now as the #1 receiver, Vance may be QB Gabbert’s best option.

PITT TE Jesse James- Pretty surprising to see that he is only owned in 19% of Yahoo Leagues. TE L Green isn’t playing, he was targeted in the preseason and even had a TD reception.

DEN TE Virgil Green- Like McDonald in SF, the best security blanket for an inexperienced like QB Trevor Siemian is a tight end. Green helped Siemian in preseason, and he be targeted in the regular season. Carolina around the middle of the pack defending the TE position.

CINN TE Tyler Kroft- Practicing in full for Week 1. Kroft missed almost all of camp with a sprained knee but appears to be 100 percent for Sunday’s opener against the Jets. He’s locked in as the starter with Tyler Eifert still recovering from ankle surgery.

Fantasy Football DEF Sleepers

Cleveland Defense– 67% of fantasy football owners do not believe that PHIL QB Carson Wentz is ready to face an NFL defense, and I am one of them.

Start Em Sit Em 2016 Week 1

Start Em Sit Em 2016 Week 1 by Utter-Fantasy Writer & Illustrator Doug Bowles

Like other fantasy prognosticators, below are my Start ‘ Em & Sit ‘ Em players, minus the obvious. ( No one needs to read that I think fantasy football owners should start RB Todd Gurley this week at home vs San Francisco ) For the Record- I don’t claim to have anymore insight on the games than the fantasy league owners reading these, but I do enjoy sharing my “IMOs” on them, as well as reading yours :) Good Luck this week!

NFL Week 1

Quarter Backs
Start ‘Em

OAK Derek Carr (at N.O.) – Even with DC Rob Ryan ousted, Saints have to prove that they have improved. Carr has weapons and will post nice numbers Week 1

PITT Ben Roethlisberger (at WASH ) – Big Ben is dependable regardless of the match up. Be interesting to see who he prefers in his receiving corps after Antonio Week 1 ( WR Eli Rogers climbed into starting line up)

TB Jameis Winston (at ATL ) – These two teams currently rank at the bottom of defenses, so both quarterbacks should make fantasy football owners happy

ATL Matt Ryan (at TB ) – These two teams currently rank at the bottom of defenses, so both quarterbacks should make fantasy football owners happy

other notable QB starts: DET Matthew Stafford @ IND

Running Backs
Start ‘Em

KC Spence Ware (vs SD) – Ware scored a TD in each of the 3 preseason games he played, and Week 1 will be 4 in a row. ( RB J Charles likely won’t even dress)

PHIL Ryan Mathews (vs CLEV) – Facing perhaps the worst defense in the NFL, Mathews should get plenty of opportunities even with QB Carson Wentz at the helm

TB Doug Martin (at ATL) – Likely a high scoring game with two of the worst defenses facing each other

ATL Devonta Freeman (vs TB ) – Likely a high scoring game with two of the worst defenses facing each other

PITT DeAngelo Williams (at WASH) – This guy produced every time he asked to at the end of 2015

NO Brainer: HOU Lamar Miller vs CHI

other notable RB starts: OAK L Murray, GB Eddie Lacy, MINN AP, IND F Gore

Wide Receivers
Start ‘Em

KC Jeremy Maclin (vs SD) – Maclin and QB A Smith have always been on the same page

GB Jordy Nelson & Randall Cobb (at JACK ) – The Jags tried to drastically improve their defense, but if preseason was any indication, it did not improve much. We’ll see

DET Golden Tate ( at IND ) – QB Stafford and WR Tate should burn the IND Def at least once

IND TY Hilton (vs DET) – QB Luck and WR Hilton should burn the DET Def at least once. Many fantasy prognosticators think WR Moncrief could take over as Luck’s favorite target, but I think it will remain Hilton

HOU WR Will Fuller ( vs CHI)- QB Brock Osweiler loves all three of his WRs, and we know WR D Hopkins will do well, but Osweiler raves about Fuller- ( UPDATE: Will Fuller (hamstring) was limited at Wednesday’s practice)

No Brainers: OAK Amari Cooper at N.O., TB Mike Evans at ATL, JACK Allen Robinson

other notable WR starts: WASH DeSean Jackson vs PITT

sleepers: CAR Ted Ginn Jr, BALT Kamar Aiken, TENN Tajae Sharpe, HOU WR Braxton Miller IF Fuller is limited or doesn’t play

Tight Ends
Start ‘Em

PHIL Zach Ertz (vs CLEV) – The best security blanket for a rookie QB is a tight end as talented as Zach Ertz

SF Vance McDonald ( vs LAR)- McDonald made some nice plays in the preseason, and with journeyman WR J Kerley listed now as the #1 receiver, Vance may be QB Gabbert’s best option

TENN Delanie Walker ( vs MINN )- Targeted 133 times in 2015. Walker is the #1 target in TENN

other notable TE starts: PITT Jesse James at WASH

Defense
Start ‘Em

LA Rams (at SF ) – QB Blaine Gabbert

Houston (vs CHI) – QB Jay Cutler can’t help but throw 2 picks a game. ( betcha one goes for a DEF TD)

Dallas (vs NYG) – The Giants O-Line looked atrocious in the preseason, and I think it is the worst in the NFL. Dallas will give QB Eli Manning fits and will likely shut down RB R Jennings

other notable DEF starts: PHIL vs CLEV

Quarter Backs
Sit ‘Em

DEN Trevor Siemian ( vs CAR)- True test for the Bronco QB, but it will be rough on him….Game Plan- hand off!

MIA Ryan Tannehill (at SEA) – You might have to start him and Tannehill might put up some decent stats, just from the volume of passes that he is likely to make, but I’d prefer another option at QB this week

CHI Jay Cutler (at HOU) – Cutler’s INTs and fumbles vs a good defense, will likely wash out a lot of his positive stats in this game. JJ Watt due back

CLEV RG3 (at PHIL) – Let’s see how he does in the regular season before we start RG3, and it’s an away game

No Brainers: MINN Shaun Hill at TENN, NE Jimmy Garoppolo at ARI, SF Blaine Gabbert vs LAR

Running Backs
Sit ‘Em

BALT RBs  ( at BUFF) – Justin Forsett was released, then resigned, but this is a murky backfield and I wouldn’t start any of them until it shakes out- RBBC

MIA A Foster/ Jay Ajayi (at SEA) – The match up is terrible, but Foster might get something, but I wouldn’t sit many running backs for either of these guys Week 1

CAR Jonathon Stewart (at DEN) – Barely touched the ball in the preseason, and he’ll be rusty. Two of the best defenses face each other

WASH Matt Jones (vs PITT) – Better receiver out of the backfield, than he is a power runner…maybe he scores that way?? ( Note: Matt Jones (shoulder) practiced without his yellow non-contact jersey Wednesday )

JACK RB Chris Ivory- Ivory (calf, questionable) is expected to play Week 1 against the Packers but will be on a snap count. With this injury and limited action, Ivory is a Sit Em candidate-

Wide Receivers
Sit ‘Em

CHI Kevin White (at HOU ) – Talented young wide receiver out all of 2015, and we do not know if there is chemistry with QB Cutler yet

NE Ju Edleman & Chris Hogan (at ARI) – We don’t know how HC Belichick plans to try and win this game, but I doubt either of these 2 WRs end up with great stats

DEN Dem Thomas & Emmanuel Sanders (vs CAR ) – I’d wait a week for DEN Trevor Siemian to get real reps, and face IND Colts Week 2

N.O. WRS (vs OAK) – This is a pretty good OAK secondary, and someone will emerge for the Saints with good stats for Week 1….but who?

Tight Ends
Sit ‘Em

MIA Jordan Cameron (vs Seattle) – He’s done nothing since becoming a Dolphin in 2015

TB Austin Seferian-Jenkins (vs ATL)- Some websites are listing him as #1 on the TE depth chart, but the Bucs like TE Cameron Brate alot better, and so do I

BUFF Charles Clay (at BALT) – The Ravens were 3rd best at defending the tight end position in 2015

SEA TE Jimmy Graham- NFL Network reports Jimmy Graham (knee) will play Sunday versus Miami, but will not play a full complement of snaps.

Defense
Sit ‘Em

WASH (vs PITT) – Steelers will score plenty in this game IMO

SD ( vs KC )- The Chiefs will run a lot, and do high percentage passes all day

No Brainers: ATL vs TB, TB at ATL

Good Luck Week One!

Fantasy Sleepers I Keep Getting in Drafts

Fantasy Sleepers I Keep Getting in Drafts by Utter-Fantasy Football Writer & Illustrator Doug Bowles

I’ve had 6 fantasy drafts so far, 2 dynasty and 4 redraft leagues. My teams seem to have a lot of names in common. As for these 6 teams, I am either going to be very right at the end of December, or very wrong, with regard to my late round sleeper picks. Perhaps the fantasy football owners that I have drafted against do not agree with my assessment of them, or I have just been quicker at drafting them. I am not sure which.

The list of players I have been targeting and getting in fantasy football drafts consists of 2 quarterbacks, 4 running backs, 4 wide receivers and 2 tight ends. I’ve written a brief summary on each of these players and why I want them in 2016. I still have plenty more drafts coming near the end of August. Unless there is big news to change my opinion of these players, with training camp and the preseason games, I am likely to have a lot more teams with plenty of sleeper names in common.

QBs

DET Matthew Stafford- Anyone who knows me, knows that I always wait on drafting a quarterback, and it’s usually paid off. ( In 2013, I had SD Philip Rivers on most of my teams, he was drafted in the late rounds and he ended that season as the #6 QB…not bad) This year Stafford seems to be available late. I want him over Dalton, Tyrod Taylor, Matt Ryan, Derek Carr, and even Tom Brady, all of whom are going earlier in drafts. ( I’ve also drafted Brees surprisingly late this season)

HOU Brock Osweiler- I can wait until the bottom of most drafts to get this guy as my #2 or #3 QB because no one else seems to think that he will have a good season. I do. He has a cannon for an arm, and I like his weapons. Houston’s division includes Indianapolis, Jacksonville and Tennessee. Although these 3 teams have made strides in improving their defenses, they still are not great and none of them will rank in the top half of the NFL in 2016. I like that for Osweiler.

RBs

PHIL Ryan Mathews- A disaster in San Diego, but he totalled almost 700 yards and 7 TDs splitting time with DeMarco Murray last year for the Eagles. It’s his show in 2016, and with 22 running backs being drafted before him….I say yes and thank you.

CHI Jeremy Langford– Is he Matt Forte? No…no one is. But when successful, HC Fox has shown a propensity to ride one running back, and I think Langford will be successful ( especially a bargain late in drafts where I am getting him)

JACK Chris Ivory- I get it. The Jags only scored 1 rushing touchdown in 2015, and RB T.J. Yeldon is still there. However, the Jags will commit to the run more in 2016, because Ivory is better than Yeldon. Ivory will get most of the carries…because T.J. Yeldon is still there.

N.O. Tim Hightower- RB Mark Ingram is a very good running back. He likes to hit his opponents and maybe he likes to hit his opponents too much. He’s missed 18 games since 2011, which equates to more than one full season. Hightower filled in for Ingram in Weeks 14-17 and he kicked ass! A top handcuff to own.

WRs

SD Travis Benjamin- I was afraid that if I wrote too much about Benjamin, fantasy football owners would prevent me from getting this guy. Not so far! I have him in every league.

PITT Sammie Coates- Last year QB Ben Roethlisberger talked up WR Wheaton, and I believed him. Then he threw the ball to Antonio Bryant and Martavis Bryant, over and over. I think Big Ben likes Wheaton, but the connection isn’t there. I’m grabbing Coates while others grab Wheaton.

NE Chris Hogan- Chemistry is everything with QB Tom Brady, and WR Brandon LaFell did not have it with the Pat’s QB in 2015, so he was shipped. Everything I’ve seen and read says that there is chemistry between Hogan and Brady. If there wasn’t a ridiculous 4 game suspension attached to Tom Terrific in 2016, Hogan would a top sleeper for me, but I still want him.

HOU Will Fuller- Look, I was on board with WR Jaelen Strong for the start of 2015, but when it was all said and done Nate Washington had a better season, and Cecil Shorts had a better season. …way better seasons. I do not believe the noise that Strong has passed/ will pass Fuller on the Houston depth chart. I want him.

TEs

CHI Zach Miller- ARI QB Carson Palmer will not throw to tight ends…it’s a fact. CHI QB Jay Cutler on the other hand, LOVES to throw to TEs, and he has helped the fantasy football relevance of every TE that he has played with. I laugh ( to myself) when fantasy football owners draft TampaBay’s ASJ, or Detroit’s Eric Ebron before CHI Zack Miller…then I say…..yes and thank you.

NE Martellus Bennett- News flash…HC Bill Belichick knows a thing or two about including one and two tight ends in the offensive game plan. ( Even Scott Chandler had a few nice games for the Pats in 2016). Bennett is definitely worth a late round flyer.

BONUS:

ATL Mohamed Sanu- This team has a TON of talent and there is a “must win now” attitude coming out of Atlanta. Sanu isn’t an amazing talent, but he will get lots of targets, he will get touchdown passes and he may throw a couple. With 52 wide outs being drafted before him, I say…..yes and thank you.

So if you’re in a fantasy football draft with me in the next 4 weeks, and you’re up, consider these guys or don’t….I promise you I will.

Week 17 Sleepers NFL Fantasy Football

Week 17 Sleepers 2015 by Utter-Fantasy Writer & Illustrator Doug Bowles

Some fantasy football owners are still competing even into Week 17, and I happen to be one of them. If you are as well, you may have been hit with some key injuries to players on your roster. Hopefully the Week 17 Sleepers NFL Fantasy Football options will help owners recover from roster hits if you may have taken from such players as DAL WR Dez Bryant, CHI WR Alshon Jeffrey, or players on teams that may sit starters in meanless Week 17 games –  Good Luck this week

Quarterback Sleepers Week 17

DEN Brock Osweiler ( vs SD )-

QB B Osweiler ended his slump of not scoring in the 2nd half  of games Week 16, and has over 300 total yards in his past 3 games. His match up Week 17 is a good one, vs a San Diego team just wanting the season to end

CINN AJ McCarron ( vs BALT )-

Week 16 vs the #1 Denver defense,QB A.J. McCarron completed 22/35 passes for 200 yards and 1 touchdown ( zero INTS). Week 17 he gets a bad Baltimore defense in a game the Bengals need to win to clinch a 1st round bye

BALT Ryan Mallett ( at CINN )-

The match up is brutal, that’s a given, but Mallett will likely throw over 40 times again ( 41 times in Week 16) and if he can avoid throwing any interceptions ( zero INTs in Week 16)…he might surprise some people with a decent day

Running Back Sleepers Week 17

IND Frank Gore (vs TENN )-

It could be tough for RB Gore if the quarterback for the Colts is Josh Freeman, but we know he’ll get a ton of carries and in Week 3 at Tennessee, Gore had 94 total yards and 2 TDs. RB Gore made it clear reaching 1,000 rushing yards this season is important to him. Gore knows exactly how many yards he was away (109) and HC Chuck Pagano also seemed interested in getting Gore to the mark

NYG Rashad Jennings (vs PHIL)-

Hey look….the Giants actually have a running game! A “Waiver Wire Recommendation Week 16″-LINK– Jennings is finally getting the bulk of the carries for the Giants- 52 in the past 3 games

JACK Jonas Gray ( at HOU)-

Jaguars OC Greg Olson said the “plan” is to “get a good look” at RB Jonas Gray in the Week 17 finale against the Texans. If this is true, then RB Denard Robinson’s fantasy value takes a hit and Gray could be worth a gamble in very deep leagues

WASH Pierre Thomas (at DAL)-

In week 16, Thomas had a bigger than expected role last week, catching 7 passes for 67 yards. He could be an interesting play Week 17 if Washington rests their starters in the 2nd half, and I think they will

STL Tre Mason (at SF)-

RB Todd Gurley (foot) is wearing a walking boot, and has not practiced the last two days. The Rams added Malcolm Brown off the practice squad, suggesting that RB Gurley possibly won’t play Week 17- Benny Cunningham is also a candidate

CHI Jeremy Langford (at SF)-

RB Matt Forte isn’t 100% and currently listed as questionable for Sunday’s finale vs the Detroit Lions. This could be Forte’s last game in Soldier Field, so we’ll keep a close on eye on active and inactives for this game. Jeremy Langford would become an instant RB1 if Forte were declared inactive

Wide Receiver Sleepers Week 17

HOU Nate Washington (vs JACK)-

WR Nate Washington, one of the Texan’s team leaders, caught 3/5 targets for 42 yards and a TD in Week 16. He has been a frequent waiver wire recommendation of Utter-Fantasy this season and has a dream match up Week 17 vs the Jags

NYG Rueban Randle (vs PHIL)-

WR Odell Beckham Jr’s 1 game suspension is over, and OBJ will want to make a statement Week 17. That said, the Eagles will be paying good attention to #13, which may allow WR Rueban Randle to score ( which he has done in 4 of his last 6 games)

CINN Marvin  Jones & M Sanu (vs BALT)-

QB AJ McCarron is now the quarterback for the Bengals following QB Dalton’s hand injury, and McCarron does a better job of incorporating all the Cincinnati weapons than Dalton did. Week 16 Sanu rushed 2 times for 10 yards and 1 TD and caught 3/3 targets for 29 yards

ARI JJ Nelson (vs SEA)-

Although WR Michael Floyd says he’ll play, he was seen with a bad limp on Friday and one has to wonder why risk anything Week 17

Very deep leagues DEN Jordan Norwood (vs SD)-

Back up QBs tend to practice with back up wide receivers, so it makes sense that QB Osweiler would have some kind of rapport with back up WR J Norwood (  6 targets in Week 16)

Tight End Sleepers Week 17

DEN Owen Daniels ( vs SD )-

Week 16 turned around for the Broncos late in the game when QB Osweiler decided to look for TE Daniels. Many of the Broncos 1st downs came from the Osweiler/ Daniels’ connection and it also helped open up the play-action and the running game for Denver ( i.e. CJ Anderson 39-yard touchdown run)

NYG Will Tye (vs PHIL)-

A “Recommended Sleeper” Week 14- LINK– and a “Recommended Sleeper Week 15- LINK– TE Tye has 2 TDs in the past 3 games- A disappointment Week 16, but then who wasn’t for the Giants- Philadelphia is also one of the worst teams defending the TE position

DET Eric Ebron (at CHI)-

Not the best option Week 17, but he is almost guaranteed of getting 5 targets Week 17……something that he has gotten in the past 3 games

Defense Sleeper Week 17

TENN ( at IND)-

Only 3 days before the finale week of the NFL, and the Colts don’t even know who their starting QB will be. QBs Luck, Hasselbeck and Whitehurst are all OUT. The Titan’s defense is probably licking their chops with the Colts forced to start either Josh “He’s still around?” Freeman and Ryan “Who?” Lindley at quarterback Week 17

WASH (at DAL)-

Even though Washington has nothing to play for with the No. 4 seed locked in, they still have to play Week 17, and I don’t think they will have much trouble taking on DAL QB Kellen Moore and the Dez-less Cowboys

Good Luck in your quest for a championship

Start Em Sit Em Week 17 2015

Start Em Sit Em Week 17 2015 by Utter-Fantasy Writer & Illustrator Doug Bowles

Like other fantasy football prognosticators, below are my Start Em Sit Em Week 17 NFL Fantasy Football players, minus the obvious. ( No one needs to read that I think fantasy owners should start all your Bronco players vs the spiraling San Diego Chargers in Denver ) For the Record- I don’t claim to have anymore insight on the games than the fantasy league owners reading these, but I do enjoy sharing my “opinions” on them, as well as reading yours-  Good Luck this week

Quarterbacks Start Em Week 17

NYJ Ryan Fitzpatrick ( at BUFF )- QB R Fiz is on fire and faces a Buffalo passing defense that is ranked 10th worst in the NFL

ATL Matt Ryan (vs N.O.)–  In Week 16, we saw that QB Matt Ryan still has some fight in him, throwing for over 300 yards and 1 TD vs a very tough Carolina defense. In Week 17, he gets a very easy Saint’s defense

NYG Eli Manning ( vs PHIL ) –Embarrassed in Minnesota Week 16, the Giants play their finale at home vs the 4th worst defense in the NFL, and Eli gets WR Odell Beckham Jr, ( who will likely want to make a big statement before the season ends)

Sleeper Start Em Week 17- DEN Brock Osweiler ( vs SD )- QB B Osweiler ended his slump of not scoring in the 2nd half  of games Week 16, and has over 300 total yards in his past 3 games- Denver clinches AFC West division with: 1. DEN win or tie OR 2. KC loss or tie

Sleeper Start Em Week 17- CINN AJ McCarron ( vs BALT )- Week 16 vs the #1 Denver defense,QB A.J. McCarron completed 22/35 passes for 200 yards and 1 touchdown ( zero INTS). Week 17 he gets a bad Baltimore defense in a game the Bengals need to win to clinch a 1st round bye

Start Em Week 15 No Brainers- QB Blake Bortles (at HOU )…..Tom Brady (at MIA)…..N.O. Drew Brees ( at ATL)

Running Backs Start Em Week 17

DAL Darren McFadden (vs WASH )- Having his best season…it seemingly forever…McFadden has now rushed for at least 90 yards in three straight weeks and will want to end 2015 on a very high note

ARI David Johnson ( vs SEA )-Even against the tough run defense of the Seahawks, RB Johnson has been a scoring machine and a must start Week 17

Start Em Week 17 Sleeper- IND Frank Gore (vs TENN )- It could be tough for RB Gore if the quarterback for the Colts is Josh Freeman, but we know he’ll get a ton of carries and in Week 3 at Tennessee, Gore had 94 total yards and 2 TDs. UPDATE: RB Gore made it clear reaching 1,000 rushing yards this season is important to him. Gore knows exactly how many yards he was away (109) and HC Chuck Pagano also seemed interested in getting Gore to the mark

Start Em Week 17 Sleeper NYG Rashad Jennings (vs PHIL)- A “Waiver Wire Recommendation Week 16″-LINK– Jennings is finally getting the bulk of the carries for the Giants- 52 in the past 3 games

Start Em Week 17 NFL No Brainers- N.O. T Hightower ( at ATL )….MINN AP ( at GB)….ATL Devonta Freeman ( vs N.O.)

Wide Receivers Start Em Week 17

Jeremy Maclin ( vs OAK )- Kansas City clinches AFC West division with: 1. KC win + DEN loss…and both games are late games Sunday so both will fight hard to win Week 17

N.O. Brandon Cooks/ Willie Snead- Like the JACK/ HOU game Week 17, this has “shoot out” written all over it. I like all the players in this game, even WR Roddy White for Atlanta as a “Sleeper” (  White nabbed 5/6 targets for 67 yards Week 16)

GB Randall Cobb and James Jones (vs MINN)- Green Bay clinches NFC North division with a win or tie, so expect QB Aaron Rodgers to “air it out” Week 17. The Packers are not going to win this game running RB Eddie Lacy or James “Butter fingers” Starks

Sleepers Start Em Week 17- CINN Marvin  Jones & M Sanu (vs BALT)QB AJ McCarron is now the quarterback for the Bengals following QB Dalton’s hand injury, and McCarron does a better job of incorporating all the Cincinnati weapons than Dalton did. Week 16 Sanu rushed 2 times for 10 yards and 1 TD and caught 3/3 targets for 29 yards

Sleeper Start Em Week 17- HOU Nate Washington (vs JACK)-WR Nate Washington, one of the Texan’s team leaders, caught 3/5 targets for 42 yards and a TD in Week 16. He has been a frequent waiver wire recommendation of Utter-Fantasy this season and has a dream match up Week 17 vs the Jags

Start Em Sit Em Week 17 No Brainers- Emmanuel Sanders ( vs SD)…..JACK WRs A Robinson & A Hurns ( at HOU)….CINN AJ Green( vs BALT)……SEA Doug Baldwin ( at ARI)

Tight Ends Start Em Week 17

PHIL Zach Ertz (at NYG)-A Waiver Wire Recommendation Week 15 and Week 16- LINKand a Recommendation again this week. Ertz has a whopping 30 targets in the past 2 weeks!!!- Amazingly only owned in 58% of Yahoo leagues

HI Zach Miller (vs DET)- A Waiver Wire Recommendation Week 15- LINK–  Injuries to the Bears entire receiving corps (WR Alshon Jeffrey placed on IR) puts TE Miller’s fantasy football value high, and in Week 16 he had 8 targets from QB Jay Cutler ( 6 targets in Week 15)

Sleeper DEN Owen Daniels ( vs SD )- Week 16 turned around for the Broncos late in the game when QB Osweiler decided to look for TE Daniels. Many of the Broncos 1st downs came from the Osweiler/ Daniels’ connection and it also helped open up the play-action and the running game for Denver ( i.e. CJ Anderson 39-yard touchdown run)

Caution starting WASH Jordan Reed (vs BUFF)-  A “Recommended Start Week 14- LINK and he paid off with 3 TD receptions in the past 2 games. TE Reed is a must start with Kirk Cousins as quarterback, however, HC Gruden has hinted at sitting starters in a meanless Week 17 game

Here’s a great link for rankings of NFL Teams vs the TE positionLINK

Defense Start Em Week 17

PITT ( at CLEV)- The Brown’s have yet another party video this past week to go with idiot Manziel’s embarrassing growing collection, but they don’t have to publicly sit him Week 17. He apparently is in concussion protocol, so that is that- CLEV QB Austin Davis will start. Cleveland was already a bad team, so the Steeler defense should have a field day vs the back-up, back-up CLEV QB & company

NE ( at MIA)- Miami is not playing very good, MIA QB Ryan Tannehill (ankle) is “day to day,” and the Pats were embarrassed by the Jets Week 16

TENN ( at IND)- The Titan’s defense is probably licking their chops with the Colts forced to start either Josh Freeman and Ryan Lindley at quarterback Week 17

Start Em Sleeper WASH (at DAL)– Even though Washington has nothing to play for with the No. 4 seed locked in, they still have to play Week 17, and I don’t think they will have much trouble taking on DAL QB Kellen Moore and the Dez-less Cowboys

Start Em Sit Em Week 17 No Brainers- PITT Defense vs CLEV….ST L Defense at SF

HERE’S A GREAT LINK TO ANALYZE DEFENSES- LINK

Quarterbacks Sit Em Week 17

DAL Kellen Moore (vs WASH)- Although QB Kellen Moore faired pretty well Week 15, replacing QB Matt Cassel vs the Jets Week 15, Buffalo will come prepared and I do not like any of the Cowboys players Week 16…except perhaps Dez

KC Alex Smith ( vs OAK )– Even in mouth-watering match ups, QB A Smith disappoints any fantasy football owners who make the mistake of starting this QB. The guy who I have named “Deacon Dunk” is averaging only 162 yards in every game in the past 4 weeks

MINN Teddy Bridgewater ( at GB)- Bridgewater could not have asked for a better match up Week 16 vs the #32 worst NYG defense. Although the Vikings won the game, Bridgewater did not help fantasy football owners win any championships with only 168 passing yards. He cannot be trusted to put up good stats vs the Packers in Green Bay

WASH Kirk Cousins ( at DAL)- WASH HC Jay Gruden hinted his starters could be active but play limited snaps Week 17 against the Cowboys

Sit Em Week 17 No Brainers-DAL Kellen Moore ( vs WASH )…….CLEV Austin Davis (vs PITT)

Running Backs Sit Em Week 17

MIA Lamar Miller ( vs NE )- Playing behind a decimated O-Line, Miller is now splitting carries with RB Jay Ajayi, and the team seems to have thrown in the towel weeks ago. Miller has just 45 rushing yards in the past 2 weeks

NYJ Chris Ivory (at BUFF)-  A “Recommended Sit Week 16″ -LINK- and hopefully fantasy football owners paid attention (only 38 rushing yards week 16) RB Ivory’s numbers have dropped drastically ever since the Jets started involving RB Bilal Powell more in the offense. The Jet’s are #1  defending the run

WASH Alfred Morris ( at DAL)- RB Morris is so undependable, even in great match ups and HC Gruden has hinted at sitting starters

Alfred Blue ( vs JACK)- Despite getting 35 carries in the past 2 weeks, Blue doesn’t have good fantasy football stats in those games and only rushed for 45 yards Week 16. Hopefully you have better options than Blue Week 17 vs the Jags

Sit Em Week 17 No Brainers- SF DuJuan Harris (vs STL)….Donald Brown ( vs DEN)

Wide Receivers Sit Em Week 17

IND TY Hilton ( vs TENN)- The Colts don’t even know who their starting quarterback is going to be! It could be Josh “He’s still around?” Freeman or Ryan “Who?” Lindley. Oh. and the Titans are 8th best vs the pass

BALT Kamar Aiken (vs CINN )- Even though he’s been one of the hottest wide receivers over the past 3 weeks, I do not like him Week 17 vs one of the best defeneses in the NFL, and against the Bengals who need this win to clinch a 1st round bye

OAK Amari Cooper ( at KC)- If WR A Cooper were healthy, He’d be in the “Start Em’ section, but he clearly isn’t, spending more time on the sideline Week 16, than the field, battling a foot injury

Sit Em No Brainers Week 17- SF WRs Torrey Smith ( s STL )…..ALL STL WRs not named Tavon Austin…..ALL SD WRs ( vs DEN)

Tight Ends Sit Em Week 17

IND Coby Fleener (vs TENN)- Since we don’t even now who the starting quarterback for will be Week 17, the only player the Colts I’d even consider starting is RB Frank Gore

SD Antonio Gates (at DEN)- In the ” What have you done for me lately department” the answer is “not much” for TE Gates. No touchdowns since Week 12 and only 11 receiving yards in Week 16. The Chargers are another team aching to have this season end

NYG Will Tye (vs PHIL)- I think the Giants will make a big effort to get WR Odell Beckham Jr the ball in Week 17 and the Eagles are one of the best teams vs the TE position

Sit Em No Brainer Week 17 MIA Jordan Cameron ( vs NE)- Jordan Cameron is one of the biggest fantasy football busts in 2015

Defense Sit Em Week 17

OAK Defense ( at KC )– The Chief’s offense is so ultra conservative that few defenses have done much against them, so find a better match up week 17

MIA Defense (vs NE)- The Dolphins just want the season over, and the Pat’s were embarrassed Week 16 by the Jets. Miami won’t slow New Endgand down Week 17

SD Defense ( at DEN)- QB Osweiler ended his 2 game skid at not being score in the the game’s 2nd half, and Denver won’t have to do a lot to win this game

Sit Em Defense Week 17 No Brainers- NYG ( vs PHIL)…..N.O. (vs ATL)….CLEV ( vs PITT)

NFL Waiver Wire Week 17

NFL Waiver Wire Week 17 2015 By Utter-Fantasy Writer & Illustrator Doug Bowles

For some, all of their hard work and diligence ended Week 15 & Week 16, either in a glorious victory or a devastating defeat. However, not every fantasy football league has their playoffs end this early, and in a couple leagues that I participate in, even go through Week 17, which is fun. For all of you fantasy football owners still battling, here are some NFL Waiver Wire Week 17 suggestions, although not a lot of great options, that might improve your current team. UPDATE: My original “Week 17 Waiver Wire” had SEA RB Marshawn Lynch as my top pick up following HC Pete Carroll’s positive comments- but Lynch has since been ruled OUT for Week 17, so I will leave it up to you to decide who is the top waiver wire Week 17 :)  Good Luck this week

Quarterbacks Waiver Wire Week 17

ATL Matt Ryan ( vs N.O. )- In Week 16, we saw that QB Matt Ryan still has some fight in him, throwing for over 300 yards and 1 TD vs a very tough Carolina defense. In Week 17 he gets a very easy Saint’s defense. Only owned in 83% of Yahoo leagues

BALT Ryan Mallett ( at CINN)- QB Mallett shocked the Steelers Week 16, beating them with 274 passing yards and 1 TD, and hurting the Steelers chances of the playoffs. His match up Week 17 is brutal however vs an angry Bengal team smarting from their week 16 loss to Denver

CINN AJ McCarron ( vs BALT )- Week 16 vs the #1 Denver defense,QB A.J. McCarron completed 22/35 passes for 200 yards and 1 touchdown ( zero INTS). Week 17 he gets a bad Baltimore defense in a game the Bengals need to win to secure to clinch a 1st round bye

HOU Brian Hoyer ( vs JACK )- This is a wait-and-see situation, but QB Hoyer is in the final stages of his concussion protocol and HC O’Brien also made it clear Monday that Hoyer will start against the Jaguars if he gets medical clearance- Tasty match up Week 17 vs the Jags, who gave up over 400 yards and  3 TDs to NO QB D Brees Week 16

Running Backs Waiver Wire Week 17

BUFF Mike Gillislee ( vs NYJ )- Gillislee is getting almost an even timeshare with RB Karlos Williams ( following RB L McCoy’s season ending injury) …… 9 carries for 93 yards and a TD Week 16

SF DuJuan Harris ( vs STL )- Following RB Shaun Draughn’s season ending injury, the 49res had a RBBC approach Week 16, with RBs Harris, Hayne and Gaskins all getting carries, but Harris emerged with the hottest hand (11/73 yards) and he’s probably the one to get Week 17, albeit a tough match up vs the Rams

WASH Pierre Thomas ( at DAL)- RB Thomas caught 7/8 targets in the division-clincher for Washington, finishing with 89 scrimmage yards. He is now the clear 3rd down back for Washington going into Week 17. PPR owners would get Thomas with a road game against Dallas in Week 17 and he could be an interesting play Week 17 if Washington rests their starters in the 2nd half, and I think they will

MINN Jerick McKinnon ( at GB )- A Recommendation Week 16- LINKDespite putting up great stats Week 16, RB McKinnon is still simply a back up to AP and fantasy football owners cannot count on another blowout where McKinnon comes in for mop up duty. That said, the waiver wire options for Week 17 are very limited

“Sleeper” JACK Jonas Grey ( at HOU)- Jaguars OC Greg Olson said the “plan” is to “get a good look” at RB Jonas Gray in the Week 17 finale

Keep an eye on- CAR Jonathon Stewart- HC Ron Rivera said Stewart “might be” ready for Week 17, and Utter-Fantasy doubts that he suits up Week 17- UPDATE: Jonathan Stewart (foot) has been ruled out for Week 17 against the Bucs

Wide Receiver Waiver Wire Week 17

HOU Nate Washington ( vs JACK )- WR Nate Washington, one of the Texan’s team leaders, caught 3/5 targets for 42 yards and a TD in Week 16. He has been a frequent waiver wire recommendation of Utter-Fantasy this season and has a dream match up Week 17 vs the Jags

SEA Jermaine Kearse ( at ARI)- All of the 3 wide receivers for Seattle have seen their production soar in the past 3 weeks, as the Seahawks move from a hard-nose running team, to a team that moves offensively thru QB Russell Wilson. WR Kearse has 222 yards and 1 TD over the past 3 weeks

CINN  Marvin Jones/ Mohamed Sanu ( vs BALT)- QB AJ McCarron is now the quarterback for the Bengals following QB Dalton’s hand injury, and McCarron does a better job of incorporating all the Cincinnati weapons than Dalton did. Week 16 Sanu rushed 2 times for 10 yards and 1 TD and caught 3/3 targets for 29 yards

Deep League Wide Receiver considerations-

ATL Roddy White ( vs NO)- 5/6 targets for 67 yards in Week 16

CAR Corey Brown/D Funchess ( vs TB )- WR Ted Ginn Jr injured his knee in a collision with teammate Cameron Artis-Payne in the first half but only missed a few plays

Terrance Williams/ Brice Butler ( vs WASH) will start on the outside if WR Dez Bryant remains sidelined

Desperate call- SD Stevie Johnson ( at DEN) – Likely ready to play, but a bad match up vs Denver’s #1 DEF

Tight Ends Waiver Wire Week 17

PHIL Zach Ertz (at NYG)-A Waiver Wire Recommendation Week 15 and Week 16- LINKand a Recommendation again this week. Ertz has a whopping 30 targets in the past 2 weeks!!!- only owned in 58% of Yahoo leagues

CHI Zach Miller (vs DET)- A Waiver Wire Recommendation Week 15- LINK–  Injuries to the Bears entire receiving corps (WR Alshon Jeffrey placed on IR) puts TE Miller’s fantasy football value high, and in Week 16 he had 8 targets from QB Jay Cutler ( 6 targets in Week 15)

NYG Will Tye- ( vs PHIL)- The Giants had just a miserable game Week 16 in Minnesota, in very cold conditions. This week they are back home vs a porous Philly defense

Week 16 Sleepers NFL Fantasy Football

Week 16 Sleepers 2015 by Utter-Fantasy Writer & Illustrator Doug Bowles

Fantasy football owners have no more bye weeks to contend with for the rest of the season, but unfortunately many of them have suspensions or injuries to key players that hurt them in Week 15. Hopefully the Week 16 Sleepers NFL Fantasy Football options will help owners recover from roster hits if you had from players such as suspended NYG WR Odell Beckham Jr, BUFF RB LeSean McCoy,  and possibly NO QB Drew Brees to name a few. –  Good Luck this week

Quarterback Sleepers Week 16

MINN Teddy Bridgewater ( at SF )-

QB Bridgewater isn’t here just because of his impressive Week 15 ( 248 total yards and 5 TDs)…you have to love his match up Week 16 vs the Giants. The New York Giants are the worst passing defense in the NFL!

SF Blaine Gabbert ( at DET )-

QB Blaine Gabbert has put up surprisingly good numbers in the 5 games that he’s started, especially Week 15 vs a very tough Cincy defense- 305 total yards and 1 TD. He will want to impress for next year, vs a subpar Detroit defense

MIA Ryan Tannehill ( vs IND )-

The Dolphins play their last 2 games at home, and in Week 17, New England comes to town. If QB Tannehill wants to impress the home crowd before the season is over, this is the week to do it. Indianapolis is 4th worst vs the pass

Running Back Sleepers Week 16

JACK Denard Robinson (vs ATL )-

RB Denard Robinson (foot) says he intends to play Week 16 against a very bad saints defense. If he does, he could have a big day

SEA Christian Michael (vs CLEV )-

Any running back facing Cleveland’s 31st worst rushing defense should be started and considered a favorite to put nice sleeper stats for Week 16

NYJ Bilal Powell ( at DAL)-

RB Bilal Powell- a Recommended Week 15 Sleepers Week 14-LINK– got a touchdown for the 3rd straight week

SD Donald Brown (at OAK)-

I like both of the backs this week at Oakland, but it’s RB Donld brown that is the “sleeper”. RB Melvin Gordon’s season ending injury gives the RB D Brown the start as the lead running back

Wide Receiver Sleepers Week 16

BALT Kamar Aiken (vs PITT)-

A favorite Waiver Wire mention of mine during the season -LINK– and the clear cut favorite target in Baltimore now, and for the rest of the season

NYG Rueban Randle (at MINN)-

WR Odell Beckham Jr’s 1 game suspension automatically lifts the fantasy value of all NY Giant’s offensive options- WR Dwayne Harris is also a considertation for a nice “sleeper” wide receiver week 16

MINN Stefon Diggs (vs NYG)-

Stefon Diggs caught 3 receptions for 55 yards and 2 touchdowns in the Week 15. He has a dream match up Week 16 vs the worst pass defense in the NFL

DAL Terrance Williams/ Cole Beasley (vs NYG)-

Dez Bryant (foot, ankle) has been ruled out for Week 16, so WRs terrance Williams and Cole Beasley naturally get a fantasy boost and Sleeper possibilities

SEA Jermaine Kearse (vs STL)-

SEA WR Doug Baldwin (hamstring) remained sidelined Thursday, and could be a game-time decision against the Rams. If Baldwin sits, Kearse will start opposite WR Tyler Lockett- Kearse caught 7/8 targets for 110 yards Week 15-  UPDATE: SEA Doug Baldwin (hamstring) was a full participant at Friday’s practice and is now ‘probable’ to play Week 16

TENN Dorial Green-Beckham (vs HOU)-

Coming on strong of late, DGB had 6-of-9 targets for 113 yards in Week 15, and his 100-yard day was his second in three weeks. He is probably the wide receiver that new QB Zach Mettenberger has practiced with the most

Tight End Sleepers Week 16

TENN Delanie Walker ( vs HOU )

The Titans won’t be able to run the ball vs the Houston run defense, so if they want to stay competitive in Week 16, expect QB Mettenberger to throw a ton

NYG Will Tye (vs CAR)-

A “Recommended Sleeper” Week 14- LINK– and a “Recommended Sleeper Week 15- LINK– TE Tye has 2 TDs in the past 2 games- WR Odell Beckham Jr’s 1 game suspension automatically lifts the fantasy value of all NY Giant’s offensive options- TE Tye has 2 TD receptions in his past 2 games with OBJ playing

DET Eric Ebron (vs SF)-

No TDs in the past 2 games, but he is getting 5 targets a game from QB Matt Stafford, and has become the solid 3rd option behind WRs Calvin Johnson and Golden Tate, other than running backs for Detroit

Defense Sleeper Week 16

JACK ( at N.O.) –

QB Drew Brees ( foot) is really hurting and may not play this game. Whoever starts will be under great pressure from the Jag’s defense

MINN ( vs NYG)-

The Giants will be without suspended WR Odell Beckham Jr, so the Vikings need only to stack the box against the New York running backs and make Eli beat you with WRs Rueban Randle and Dwayne Harris

Good Luck in your quest for a championship
