Week 14 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football

Week 14 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football by Utter-Fantasy Football Writer & Illustrator Doug Bowles

The Bye teams are over. Week 14 of the NFL season had the last two teams off on a “Bye”. We had a couple injuries in Week 13, so there are  a few players needed around the league to step for NFL teams ( and for fantasy football owners on the waiver wire.) The following are your Utter-Fantasy Week 14 Waiver Wire recommendations.

Week 14 Byes: No More Byes.

Week 14 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football Quarterbacks

BALT QB Joe Flacco ( at NE )- Impressive Week 13, and the Pats 28th vs the pass.

SF QB Colin Kaepernick ( vs NYJ )- “Kaep” could look like Tom Brady vs the atrocious Jet’s defense in Week 14.

CHI QB Matt Barkley ( at DET )- Playing for a resume vs the 31st worst defense..

CLEV QB Robert Griffin III ( vs CINN )- Likely available but not recommended.

Week 14 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football Running Backs

TB RBs Jacquizz Rodgers/ Charlie Sims ( vs NO)- I’d pick up Rodgers if I needed a back from Tampa because he’s proved his healthy, Sims has not.

DEN Rb Justin Forsett ( at TENN )- With RB Bibbs injured in Week 13, Forsett could see action as Booker’s back up.

BALT RB Kenneth Dixon ( at NE )- 10 touches in Week 13. Bad match up week 14. Only owned in 46% of Yahoo leagues.

Deep Leagues OAK RB Jaelen Ricard ( at KC)- 16 rushes, past 2 weeks.

Week 14 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football Wide Receivers

CAR WR Ted Ginn Jr ( vs SD )- A TD in 3 straight weeks. Ginn poured it on at the end of last season as well. Only owned in 23% of Yahoo leagues.

CINN WR Tyler Boyd ( at CLEV )- Only owned in 53% of Yahoo leagues.

SD WR Dontrelle Inman ( at CAR)- WR T Benjamin’s drops means more for Inman. Nice game Week 13. Panthers secondary is weak. Only owned in 21% of Yahoo leagues.

KC WR Jeremy Maclin ( vs OAK)- Due back Thursday for this big division game.

ATL WR Taylor Gabriel ( at LAR )- WR Julio Jones has turf toe.

NE WR Malcolm Mitchell ( vs BALT )- Ravens #1 vs the run. Brady will have to throw.

CINN WR Brandon LaFell ( at CLEV )- Big Week 13 for LaFell with a TD reception.

Week 14 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football Tight Ends

TB TE Cameron Brate ( vs NO)- Oh what a sweet match up!

PITT TE Ladarius Green ( at BUFF)- Huge Week 13, and no other wide outs have worked out for the Steelers, so Green may be the answer.

WASH TE Vernon Davis ( at PHIL )- QB K Cousins will need TE Davis in Week 14 with WR Crowder suffering a hip pointer in Week 13 against the Cardinals.

SF TE Vance McDonald ( vs NYJ )- I have recommended TE McDonald for weeks and vs the Jets, his best game might come in Week 14. ( you saw what IND TE Allen did against the Jets)

IND TE D Allen ( vs HOU)- Don’t expect such a great week vs the Texan’s 4th best team guarding opposing tight ends.

Week 13 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football

Week 13 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football by Utter-Fantasy Football Writer & Illustrator Doug Bowles

Week 13 of the NFL season the last two teams off on a “Bye”. The last two are Tennessee and Cleveland. We had a couple injuries in Week 12, so there are  a few players needed around the league to step for NFL teams ( and for fantasy football owners on the waiver wire.) The following are your Utter-Fantasy Week 13 Waiver Wire recommendations.

Week 13 Byes: Cleveland and Tennessee.

Week 13 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football Quarterbacks

CLEV QB Robert Griffin III ( Bye Week)- Browns coach Hue Jackson said (shoulder, injured reserve) could be cleared for contact this week. RG3 could start Week 13

QB Ryan Fitzpatrick ( vs IND )- Good match. Only owned in 16% of Yahoo leagues.

PHIL QB C Wentz ( at CINN )- Only owned in 37% of Yahoo leagues.

CHI QB Matt Barkley ( vs SF )- Owned in 1% of Yahoo leagues.

Week 13 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football Running Backs

ATL RB Tevin Coleman ( vs KC)- TD run Week 12. Only owned in 70% of Yahoo leagues.

CINN RB Rex Burkhead ( vs PHIL )- RB Jeremy Hill injured Week 12.

BALT RB Kenneth Dixon ( vs MIA )- Split carries evenly in Week 12 w/ RB T West. Only owned in 29% of Yahoo leagues.

Week 13 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football Wide Receivers

BUFF WR Sammy Watkins ( at OAK )- 3/3 targets in Week 12. Only owned in 72% of Yahoo leagues.

CINN WR Tyler Boyd ( vs PHIL )- Only owned in 50% of Yahoo leagues.

ATL WR Taylor Gabriel ( vs KC)- The Falcons may have found a secret weapon.

JACK WR Marqise Lee ( vs DEN )- WR Allen Hurns hurt his hammy. Horrible match up. Only owned in 10% of Yahoo leagues.

NE WR Malcolm Mitchell ( vs LAR )- 2 good weeks in a row. TEs Gronk and Bennett injured.

CINN WR Brandon LaFell ( vs PHIL)- WR Boyd is the man to get in Cincinnati with WR AJ Green OUT, ( and Gio ) but WR LaFell will get plenty of targets going forward.

Week 13 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football Tight Ends

WASH TE Vernon Davis( vs SF )- Averaging over 4 targets per game.

SF TE Vance McDonald ( at CHI)- I have recommended TE McDonald for weeks.

Week 12 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football

Week 12 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football by Utter-Fantasy Football Writer & Illustrator Doug Bowles

Week 12 of the NFL season has 0 teams off on a “Bye”. The last two are in Week 13….Tennessee and Cleveland. We unfortunately, did have a rash of disappointing injuries in Week 11, so there are new players needed around the league to step for NFL teams ( and for fantasy football owners on the waiver wire.) The following are your Utter-Fantasy Week 12 Waiver Wire recommendations.

Week 12 Byes: None.

Week 12 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football Quarterbacks

CLEV QB Josh McCown (vs NYG )- CLEV QB C Kessler is now in”concussion protocal” and being his 2nd in recent games, he may be out for a while.

MINN QB Sam Bradford ( at DET )- Great match up on Thanksgiving Day vs the NFL’s worst defense.

BALT QB Joe Flacco ( vs CINN )- I like Joe in Week 12.

PHIL QB C Wentz ( vs GB)- The Packer’s defense is riddled with injuries and can’t stop anyone right now…( and giving up the most “big” plays in the NFL)

IND QB Tolzien ( vs PITT)- QB A Luck hasn’t practiced and likely OUT Week 12 im “concussion protocal. QB Tolzien has a daunting task ahead of him, throwing only 1 NFL pass in the past 3 years.

DEEP DEEP DEEP Leagues CHI QB Matt Barkley ( vs TENN)- The Chicago Tribune reports Jay Cutler suffered a shoulder injury in Sunday’s Week 11 loss to the Giants, and the Bears are “exploring” whether it will end Cutler’s season.

Week 12 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football Running Backs

BUFF RB Mike Gillislee ( vs JACK )- RB L McCoy had surgery on his thumb but actually is expected back in Week 12. Don’t be surprised if it’s really the Gillislee show in Week 12 vs a bad Jacksonville defense. They can win this one without McCoy.

ATL RB Tevin Coleman ( vs ARI)- RB Coleman has been off for awhile with injuries and the Falcons had a “Bye” in Week 11, so he may be available. Due back Week 12. Only owned in 68% of Yahoo leagues.

PHIL RB Wendell Smallwood ( vs GB)- RB Darren Sproles suffered a fractured rib Sunday against the Seahawks. That say he’ll play in Week 12, but he should really just get some time off.

NO RB Tim Hightower ( vs LAR)– You should have gotten him in Week 10. UTTER-FANTASY’S WEEK 10 WAIVER WIRE RECOMMENDATION

Deeper Leagues SEA RB Alex Collins ( at TB )- The Seahawks lost RB Prosise for 8 weeks with bad injury. SEA RB Alex Collins should back up RB T Rawls for the rest of the season.

Deeper Leagues CINN RB Rex Burkhead ( at BALT )- Giovani Bernard suffered a torn ACL in Week 11 against the Bills. Look for RB Burkhead to take over some pass-down work behind Jeremy Hill.

Week 12 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football Wide Receivers

CINN WR Tyler Boyd ( at BALT )- Sadly, we lost one of the most exciting players to watch in the NFL….in WR AJ Green. WR Boyd will be asked to step up in a big way for the rest of the season.

TENN WR Tajae Sharpe ( at CHI )- 19 targets in the past 3 weeks, 2 TDs in the past 2. Only owned in 12% of Yahoo leagues.

MIA WR DeVante Parker ( vs SF )- If you remember, WR Parker did not come on until late in the season last year. 8 targets for 79 yards and 1 TD in week 11. Only owned in 69% of Yahoo leagues. Great match Week 12.

MINN WR Adam Thielen ( at DET )- The Vikings said they wanted to get WR Thielen more involved and they did in Week 11. ( 5/65/ 1 TD). He’s the guy that they need to continue to get more involved on this team. Only owned in 4% of Yahoo leagues.

JACK WR Marqise Lee ( at BUFF )- QB Blake Bortles clearly prefers WR Lee over WR Allen Hurns this year.

NYG WR Sterling Shepard ( at CLEV )- You should have picked him up last week. UTTER-FANTASY’S WEEK 11 WAIVER WIRE RECOMMENDATION

CINN WR Brandon LaFell ( at BALT)- WR Boyd is the man to get in Cincinnati with WR AJ Green OUT, ( and Gio ) but WR LaFell will get plenty of targets going forward.

BUFF WR Sammy Watkins- BUFF HC Rex Ryan said Monday that he is hopeful Sammy Watkins (foot, I.R.) will be able to “play some” in Week 12 versus Jacksonville.

Deeper Leagues….NE WR Malcolm Mitchell ( at NYJ)- I think Week 11 ( 4/98/ 1 TD) was more of fluke week, rather than a sign of things to come.

Week 12 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football Tight Ends

NE TE Martellus Bennett ( at NYJ )- He did not have a good Week 11 ( only 1 catch ), but that could have been by Belichick design. He is an important part of the NE offense with or without TE Gronk.

SF TE Vance McDonald ( at MIA )- I have recommended TE McDonald for weeks now and still only owned in 8% of Yahoo leagues. Currently the #17 TE in the NFL and only 10 tight ends have more TDs than McDonald has (4).

Week 11 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football

Week 11 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football by Utter-Fantasy Football Writer & Illustrator Doug Bowles

Week 11 of the NFL season has 4 teams off on a “Bye”, Atlanta, Denver, NY Jets and San Diego. We did not have a rash of disappointing injuries in Week 10, thankfully, but that also means that there are not a lot new players on the waiver wire, filling in around the NFL. If players on the “Bye’ week is hurting your fantasy football roster in Week 11, I am afraid the pickin’s are slim.

Week 11 Byes: Atlanta, Denver, NY Jets and San Diego.

Week 11 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football Quarterbacks

WASH QB Kirk Cousins (vs GB)- Cousins has thrown at least 1 TD pass in every game since Week 1. Cousins is still only only owned in 73% of Yahoo leagues. At less than 100%, TENN QB M Mariots easily threw all over the Packers in Week 10.

TB QB Jameis Winston ( at Kansas City )- Winston is only owned in 83% of Yahoo leagues. Averaging 2 1/2 TDs last 4 games. Rough match up in Week 11, as KC DEF is playing well.

BALT QB Joe Flacco ( at DAL )- Tougher match up than he had in Week 10, but Flacco is a quality fill in for a quarterback on a “Bye” in Week 11.

Week 11 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football Running Backs

TB RB Doug Martin ( at KC )- Doug Martin was eased into the game in Week 10, but did score a TD. He should be picked up in every format.

WASH RB Rob Kelley (vs GB)- In Week 10, Kelley went 22 for 97 yards, but 0 TDs unfortunately. With 43 carries the last two games, Kelley will be a back-end RB2 against the Packers. Only owned in 48% of Yahoo leagues.

GB RB James Starks ( at TENN)- In Week 10, James Starks played 55/78 snaps against the Titans. WR/RB Ty Montgomery was barely in the game, so it’s Starks show for the rest of the season if he can stay healthy. Only owned in 27% of Yahoo leagues.

DET RB Theo Riddick (vs JACK )– He’s the running back to own in Detroit when he’s healthy. May have been dropped due to the Week 10 “Bye” week, which I am sure did him well in his recover. Theo Riddick rushed 14 times for 70 yards and caught 1/3 targets for 6 yards in Week 9. Good match up Week 11. Only owned in 82% of Yahoo leagues.

BALT RB Terrance West ( at DAL )- Still available in 86% of Yahoo leagues.

Other possible RB candidates- deeper leagues OAK RBs Jaelen Richard ( vs HOU)- Back from the Week 10 “Bye” week.

Week 11 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football Wide Receivers

CHI WR Cameron Meredith ( at NYG)- Back on the waiver wire radar with 50 yards and 1 TD in Week 10 and WR Alshon Jeffery’s 4 game suspension. Now likely the #1 receiver for the Bears.

PITT WR Eli Rogers ( at CLEV )- An UTTER-FANTASY’S WEEK 10 WAIVER WIRE RECOMMENDATION…Eli Rogers hauled in 4/5 targets for 42 yards and a TD Sunday in Week 10 vs the Cowboys. Only owned in 10% of Yahoo leagues.

TENN WR Rishard Matthews ( at IND)- 6 touchdowns in the past 6 games. Another UTTER-FANTASY’S WEEK 10 WAIVER WIRE RECOMMENDATION

KC WR Tyreek Hill ( vs TB )- WR Hill has the most receptions of any Chief’s player in 2016.

CAR WR Devin Funchess ( vs NO)- Too big to ignore forever ( 6’4″- 225 lbs) Funchess caught 3/4 targets for 56 yards and 1 TD in Week 10 vs the Chiefs. Great match up week 11.

NYG WR Sterling Shepard ( vs CHI)- TD receptions 2 straight weeks and caught 5/7 targets for 42 yards and 1 TD in the Giants’ Week 10 win over the Bengals.

BALT WR Beshad Perriman ( at DAL)- Tough match up but slowing getting involved in the Raven’s offense. Perriman had 3/4 targets for 64 yards and a touchdown Thursday in the Ravens’ Week 10 win over the Browns.

Also consider MIA WR DeVante Parker( at LA Rams)- Parker had a good week of practice before catching five passes for 103 yards against the Chargers.

Week 11 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football Tight Ends

NE TE Martellus Bennett ( at SF)- Even if it turns out that TE Gronkowski doesn’t have a punctured lung, Martellus Bennett caught seven passes for 102 yards in Week 10.
TB TE Cameron Brate (vs DET)- Brate now has 3 touchdowns in 3 games straight. He caught 7 receptions for 84 yards and 1 TD Sunday in Week 10. Only owned in 52% of Yahoo leagues.

Also consider SF TE Vance McDonald ( vs NE )- Vance McDonald has 12 targets past 2 games for 134 yards total and 1 TD.

See if SD Te A Gates is available ( owned in 88% of Yahoo leagues.) 37 targets past 4 games.

Week 10 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football

Week 10 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football by Utter-Fantasy Football Writer & Illustrator Doug Bowles

Week 10 of the NFL season has 4 teams off on a “Bye”. We did not have a rash of disappointing injuries in Week 9, thankfully, so it will be the teams on the “Bye’ that could hurt fantasy football owners the most in Week 10.

Week 10 Byes: Buffalo, Detroit, Indianapolis, and Oakland.

Week 10 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football Quarterbacks

CHI QB Jay Cutler ( at Tampa Bay )- The injury to QB B Hoyer gave the starting gig to Cutler for the rest of 2016. Cutler has weapons and a very nice match up in Week 10.

BALT QB Joe Flacco ( vs CLEV )- Nice match up vs Cleveland in Week 10.

PHIL QB C Wentz ( vs ATL )- QB Wentz hasn’t been playing particularly well of late, but even Wentz can have a good game vs the Falcons horrific defense.

Week 10 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football Running Backs

GB RB James Starks ( at TENN)- The Packers haven’t had much of a running game in weeks, and sorely need RB Starks in their offense. Get him while you can. Only owned in 19% of Yahoo leagues.

TB RB Doug Martin ( vs CHI )- Doug Martin (hamstring) returned to practice Wednesday.

JACK RB Chris Ivory (vs HOU )– Just when you think the Jags have decided on a running back ( one week it is RB Yeldon, the next is RB Ivory), they switch it up on us. There aren’t a lot of new options for waiver wire RBs and Ivory did have 18 carries Week 9 for 107 yards, 5th best in the NFL in Week 10. Only owned in 33% of Yahoo leagues.

NO RB Tim Hightower ( vs DEN )- Tough match up but still available in 54% of Yahoo leagues.

WASH RB Rob Kelley ( vs MINN)- HC Gruden considers Rob Kelley the Washington starting running back coming off the team’s bye week. Kelley should get the “bulk” of the carries, and that Matt Jones will “have to earn his way back.”

Other possible RB candidates- SF RB DuJuan Harris ( at ARI)-

DEN RB Kapri Bibbs ( at NO)-

NYG RB Paul Perkins ( vs CINN)-

TB RB Peyton Barber ( vs CHI )-  Generated 31 yards on 11 carries and caught 4/5 targets for 24 yards in Week 9. Note: The Bucs lost RB Antone Smith for the season Week 9.

deeper leagues OAK RBs Jaelen Richard ( Bye Week )-

Week 10 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football Wide Receivers

PIT WR Eli Rogers ( vs DAL)- Calling WRs Wheaton and Coates “disappointments in 2016″ is an under-statement. WR Eli Rogers is healthy now and caught 6/10 targets for 103 yards in the Steelers’ Week 9 loss to the Ravens.

KC WR Tyreek Hill ( at CAR )- WR Jeremy Maclin left Week 9 with an injury and Chiefs HC coach Andy Reid called Jeremy Maclin (groin) day to day, but admitted he could miss more time. That means lots of targets for WR Hill and TE Kelce.

ARI WR JJ Nelson ( vs SF)- 19 targets and 2 TDs in the past 2 weeks!

JACK WR Marqise Lee (vs HOU)- Brutal match up in Week 10 but WR Allen Hurns is in the league’s concussion protocol and QB Blake Bortles has preferred WR Lee all season so far.

TENN WR Rishard Matthews ( vs GB)- With TE D Walker injured, WR Matthews stepped up Week 9 and caught 6/10 targets for 63 yards and 2 touchdowns in the Titans’ Week 9 loss to the Chargers.

Also consider NYG WR Sterling Shepard ( vs CINN)- 3/6 targets for 50 yards and a 1 touchdown in the Giants’ Week 10 win over the Eagles.

Week 10 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football Tight Ends

PHIL TE Zach Ertz (vs ATL)- It’s about time. Likely the best weapon on the Eagles roster…QB Wentz in Week 9 finally got Ertz the ball….8 passes for 97 yards in Week 9 against the Giants.  Expect even more Week 10 vs the Falcons. Only owned in 56% of Yahoo leagues.

Also consider SF TE Vance McDonald ( at ARI )- Vance McDonald snagged 3/6 targets for 84 yards and a 1 touchdown in Week 9. Tough match up in Week 10.

Week 9 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football

Week 9 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football by Utter-Fantasy Football Writer & Illustrator Doug Bowles

Week 9 of the NFL season has 6 teams off on a “Bye”, the most of any regular season week so far except for Week 8. We did not have a rash of disappointing injuries in Week 8, thankfully, so it will be the teams on the “Bye’ that could hurt fantasy football owners the most in Week 9.

Week 9 Byes: Arizona, Chicago, New England, Houston, Washington and Cincinnati.

Week 9 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football Quarterbacks

BALT QB Joe Flacco ( vs PITT )- Flacco was on a “Bye” in Week 8, so he may be available in your league. Pittsburgh is the #23 ranked defense. Only owned in 23% of Yahoo leagues

NYJ QB Ryan Fitzpatrick ( at MIA)- Against the Browns in Week 8, Fitz only put up 228 yards and 1 TD, but amazingly, he has only thrown 1 INT now in the past 4 games.  Fitzpatrick is only owned in 29% of Yahoo leagues, with a favorable match up.

MINN QB Sam Bradford ( vs DET)- The Lions are dead last vs the pass…..#32 ranked.

You also may have to consider LAR QB Case Keenum (vs CAR) Week 9

Week 9 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football Running Backs

KC RB Charcandrick West (vs KC)– With RB J Charles still OUT, and RB S Ware dealing with a concussion, West had 14 carries for 52 yards in Week 8. He also had 2 catches for 8 yards. West played the entire second half after Spencer Ware left with a concussion. West could start next week if Ware doesn’t get cleared.

PHIL RB Darren Sproles ( at NYG)- HC Doug Pederson said he will “evaluate in these next couple of days” whether to replace Ryan Mathews with Darren Sproles as the No. 1 running back. Sproles has averaged 5.0 YPC and 10.3 yards per catch on the year.

DET RB Theo Riddick ( at MINN)- After missing the previous two games with an ankle injury, Theo Riddick rushed 11 times for 56 yards and caught 8/11 targets for 77 yards and 1 TD in Week 8.

NO RB Tim Hightower ( at SF)- RB Hightower filled in for benched RB Mark Ingram in Week 8, and rushed 26 times for 102 yards for New Orleans. HC Sean Payton confirmed Tim Hightower has “definitely” earned more work going forward.

MINN RB Matt Asiata ( vs DET)- Asiata did not have the game that fantasy football owners had hoped for, but if RB McKinnon still isn’t a 100% in Week 9, the Lions ( defense ranked last….#32) are a much better match up.

TB RBs Peyton Barber/ Mike Smith/ Antone Smith ( vs ATL)- RB Jacquizz Rodgers was seen in a walking boot, so Week 9 match up on Thursday Night might be too soon to start. Likely a RBBC approach in Tampa, but my guess is that RB Barber gets the most carries.

deep desperate leagues GB RB Don Jackson/ Aaron Ripkowski ( IND)- The Packers released RB Knile Davis. RBs Jackson and FB Ripkowski had 6 carries apiece in Week 8. With RB James Starks due back soon, this is a backfield to avoid,

Week 9 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football Wide Receivers

NYJ WR Quincy Enunwa ( at MIA )- Enunwa caught 4/11 targets for 93 yards and 1 TD in Week 8 and is a favorite of QB Ryan Fitzpatrick. Only owned in 45% of Yahoo leagues

KC WR Tyreek Hill ( vs JACK )- Hill had 98 receiving yards in Week 8 along with 1 TD. Hill also had a TD reception in Week 7, and now 4 on the season. Only owned in 3% of Yahoo leagues

ATL WR M Sanu ( at TB )- Despite reeling in 9/10 targets for 84 yards and 1 TD in Week 8, Sanu is still only owned in 53% of Yahoo leagues

SD WR Tyrell Williams/ Travis Benjamin (vs TENN)- Brutal match up in Week 8 but Benjamin managed to haul in a spectacular TD pass. Very good schedule for Charger WRs ROS.

Other candidates- OAK WR Seth Roberts ( vs DEN)- Averaging almost 6 targets a game, Roberts had 69 yards and 1 TD in Week 8. Tough match up in Week 9.

Check to see if PITT WR Sammie Coates and LAR WR K Britt were dropped due to their Week 8 “Bye”

Week 9 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football Tight Ends

TB TE Cameron Brate (vs ATL)- With so many injuries to the Bucs offense, it only makes sense that TE Brate becomes a bigger part going forward. 3/5 targets for 22 yards and 1 TD in Week 8.  Only owned in 41% of Yahoo leagues.

IND TE Jack Doyle ( at TENN )- UTTER-FANTASY’S WEEK 7 WAIVER WIRE RECOMMENDATIONS   A down week for TE Doyle in Week 8, but do not think that because WR D Moncrief is back, that TE Doyle isn’t still a big part of this offense. Only owned in 66% of Yahoo leagues.

Also consider BALT TE Dennis Pitta ( vs PITT)- On a “Bye” in Week 8 so likely available. Pitta caught 4/10 targets for 40 yards in the Ravens’ Week 7 loss to the Jets.

Week 8 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football

Week 8 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football by Utter-Fantasy Football Writer & Illustrator Doug Bowles

Week 8 of the NFL season has 6 teams off on a “Bye”, the most of any regular season week so far. We did not have a rash of disappointing injuries in Week 7, thankfully, so it will be the teams on the “Bye’ that could hurt fantasy football owners the most.

Week 8 Byes: Baltimore, Miami, NY Giants, Pittsburgh, Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Week 8 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football Quarterbacks

DEN QB Trevor Siemian ( vs SD )-  If you have a QB on the Week 8 Bye week, you may desperately need a fill for the upcoming weekend. Siemian has a great match up and playing once again at home. The schedule makers were very kind to give Denver 5 home games in the first 8 weeks so Siemian could get familiar as the new starter. Only owned in 11% of Yahoo leagues

NYJ QB Ryan Fitzpatrick ( at CLEV)- Whether Jets fans like it or not, Ryan Fitzpatrick will remain the Jets’ starting quarterback after Geno Smith suffered a torn ACL in Sunday’s win over the Ravens. Great match up Week 8 at Cleveland.  Fitzpatrick is only owned in 19% of Yahoo leagues, with a favorable match up.

Also consider KC QB Alex Smith (at IND) Week 8

Week 8 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football Running Backs

TB RB Jacquizz Rodgers ( vs OAK )- UTTER-FANTASY’S WEEK 7 WAIVER WIRE RECOMMENDATIONS . He should have been picked up last week, but still only owned in 73% of Yahoo leagues, with a favorable match up. No one knows when/if RB Doug Martin will be back.

MIA RB Jay Ajayi ( BYE)- Recommendation Week 6 Waiver Wire-  Pick him up even on a Bye week. Only owned in 72% of Yahoo leagues.

DEN RB Devontae Booker ( vs SD)- Like I wrote in Week 6 & 7, his talent is too gard for HC Kubiak to ignore. Week 7- Booker rushed 17 times for 83 yards and one touchdown.

GB RB Knile Davis ( at ATL)- Davis didn’t have a role in Week 7, having just arrived in Green Bay, but he should know the offense by Week 8, and the Packers need him.

MINN RB Matt Asiata ( at CHI)- Asiata had 18 touches in Week 7, vs RB McKinnon’s 12 touches. With so many teams on a Bye Week 8, Asiata is likely available- only owned in 21% of Yahoo leagues.

BUFF RB Mike Gillislee ( vs NE)- Why was RB McCoy even playing in Week 7???? RB Mike Gillislee to start if LeSean McCoy (hamstring) is not able to play once again in Week 8.  Tough match up however.

deep leagues HOU RB Alfred Blue ( vs DET)- RB Lamar Miller was banged up in Week 7, so RB Blue had more action than usual. He may have more than usuak again, if Miller isn’t 100% in Week 8. Great match up.

Week 8 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football Wide Receivers

GB WR Davante Adams ( at ATL)- His good games are spotting, but this could be a shoot out in Week 8. 13/16 targets for 132 yards and 2 TDs in Week 7. Only owned in 19% of Yahoo leagues

IND WR Donte Moncrief ( vs KC)- Moncrief (shoulder) is expected to practice Wednesday. If he plays in Week 8, Moncrief will be an upside WR3 against Kansas City. Only owned in 63% of Yahoo leagues.

ARI WR John Brown ( at CAR)- With WR Jaron Brown OUT (IR) and WR Michael Floyd suffering a hamstring injury in Sunday’s tie with the Seahawks, the Cardinals desperately need John Brown to return.

NO WR Michael Thomas ( vs SEA)- How is WR Thomas still only owned in 73% of Yahoo leagues? Tough match up but at least they are playing at home.

SD WR Tyrell Williams ( at DEN)- Brutal match up but QB P Rivers targets Williams more than anyone else. ( 10 times in Week 7)

DAL WR Cole Beasley- Even with WR Dez Bryant coming back, there’s no denying that QB Dak Prescott likes Cole “Danny Woodhead” Beasley.

Other candidates- NYJ Quincy Enunwa ( at CLEV)- Healthy once again. 73 yards and 1 TD Week 7.

Week 8 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football Tight Ends

CINN TE Tyler Eifert ( vs WASH)- Eifert is back and only owned in 69% of Yahoo leagues.

IND TE Jack Doyle ( at TENN )- UTTER-FANTASY’S WEEK 7 WAIVER WIRE RECOMMENDATIONS  Fantasy football owners still have an opportunity to get Doyle, who is becoming one of QB A Luck’s favorite targets after WR TY Hilton. Only owned in 31% of Yahoo leagues. 9 catches/ 78 yards and 1 TD in Week 7.

Week 7 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football

Week 7 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football by Utter-Fantasy Football Writer & Illustrator Doug Bowles

Rather than Week 7 be a week of disappointing injuries, thankfully, it was a week of unlikely stars rising from the depths of NFL depth charts. Another nice week to look back at the NFL games and talk about who stood out with some spectacular plays, rather than who got injured.

Since we did not have a ton of new significant injuries, it’s the Bye weeks that can also create many roster problems for fantasy football owners, especially if they did not pay attention to them during the drafts. You may have players from their team off on the same bye week.

Bye Week 7: Carolina and Dallas

Week 7 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football Quarterbacks

TENN QB Marcus Mariota ( at IND)-  It’s not a secret that Indianapolis has one of the worst defenses in the NFL, and perhaps THE worst secondary. Even QB Brock Osweiler eventually had a good game vs the Colts in Week 6, and Mariota will in Week 7. If you are without QB Cam Newton in Week 7, Mariota should be serviceable. Only owned in 60% of Yahoo leagues

WASH QB Kirk Cousins ( at DET )- Another defense that made a quarterback looked great in Week 6 was the Detroit Lions. LAR QB Case Keenum had 321 passing yards and 3 TDs. Cousins is only owned in 72% of Yahoo leagues, with a favorable match up.

TB QB Jameis Winston ( at SF )- Having had their “Bye” in Week 6, Winston may have come available in your league. Only owned in 70% of Yahoo leagues, with a favorable match up.

deeper leagues BUFF QB Tyrod Taylor ( at MIA )

Also consider KC QB Alex Smith (vs New Orleans) Week 7 in deeper leagues

Week 7 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football Running Backs

NE RB James White ( at PITT)- Recommendation Week 6 Waiver Wire- QB Tom Brady likes having RB James White on the field with him, and what Brady wants, Brady gets. White had 66 total yards and 2 receiving TDs in Week 6.

MIA RB Jay Ajayi ( vs BUFF)- Recommendation Week 6 Waiver Wire-  RB Ajayi racked up over 200+ rushing yards and 2 TDs. He was the top running back for Week 6. Tougher match up in week 7, but at least he’s at home again.

GB RB Knile Davis ( vs CHI)- Packers acquired RB Knile Davis from the Chiefs. Packers have the Thursday night game. Can RB Knile Davis be ready in 2 days?

TB RB Jacquizz Rodgers ( at SF)- With Doug Martin (hamstring) out, Rodgers is expected to start Week 7 against the 49ers.

DEN RB Devontae Booker ( vs HOU)- Only a stash right now, but eventually Booker’s talent will be too much for HC Kubiak to ignore. Booker had 46 yards in Week 6 on only 5 carries ( 9.2 average) while RB CJ Anderson had 37 yards on 10 carries ( 3.7 average)

Keep an eye on RB Carlos Hyde- He has his right arm in a sling on Tuesday. If he’s not ready Sunday, RB Mike Davis (averaging 1.8 yards a carry) likely to start.

UPDATE: SF RB Carlos Hyde OUT for Week 7.
SF official 49er website, Rotoworld and Ourlads.com
showing RB Sh Draughn #2….RB Mike Davis #3 RB on depth charts

BILLS UPDATE: ESPN reports Mike Gillislee to start if LeSean McCoy (hamstring) is not able to play this week.

Week 7 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football Wide Receivers

CHI WR Cameron Meredith ( at GB)-  Recommendation Week 6 Waiver Wire- An Utter-Fantasy recommendation last week, but since he is still only owned in 52% of Yahoo leagues, fantasy football owners needed Week 6 to become believers….11 catches for 113 yards. He was also targeted in the end zone.

NO WR Michael Thomas ( at KC)- Fantasy football owners were justifiably nervous about starting WR Michael Thomas with WR Willie Snead returning from injury, but Thomas easily was preferred over Snead by QB D Brees. Thomas should be acquired in all formats. Only owned in 67% of Yahoo leagues.

CINN WR Tyler Boyd ( vs CLEV)- I wouldn’t blame fantasy football owners for watching another week or two to see if Week 6 was a fluke ( 4 catches for 79 yards) but QB A Dalton has got to get this speedy receiver involved in their offense, as well as LaFell.

after their Week 7 Bye-DAL WR Cole Beasley- There’s no denying that QB Dak Prescott likes Cole “Danny Woodhead” Beasley.

GB WR Ty Montgomery ( vs CHI)- new acquistion RB Knile Davis is unlikely to be ready to contribute Thursday night, meaning Ty Montgomery should once again see plenty of snaps in the backfield. 104 total yards in Week 6 ( 98 receiving/ 6 rushing yards on 3 attempts.)

MINN WR Adam Thielen ( at PHIL )- WR Stefon Diggs (groin) did not practice Monday, but Diggs is expected back this week. Remember however, that 6’2″ Thielen was the QB Sam Bradford favorite in Week 5, with 7/8 targets for 127 yards and 1 TD.

LAR WR Kenny Britt ( vs NYG in UK)- Kenny Britt caught 7/8 targets for 136 yards and 2 TDs in Week 6 against the Lions. Temper expectations going forward with Britt. This was his first game with a TD, he had 3 ALL of last year, and in 2015 only went over 100 yards once ( vs PITT Week 3- 102 yards). The Lions can make a lot of players look sensational. ( DET #32 DEF in the NFL- LAST!) In Week 4, CHI WR Eddie Royal had 111 yard and 1 TD.

Other candidates- WASH WR Jamison Crowder ( at DET)- 3/4 targets for 52 yards in Week 6 and 1 TD.

Week 7 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football Tight Ends

SD  TE Hunter Henry ( at ATL)- Recommendation Week 6 Waiver Wire-  but still only owned in 35% of Yahoo leagues. Currently the #3 tight end in the NFL, and has 16 targets, 218 receiving yards and 3 TDs in the past 3 weeks.

IND TE Jack Doyle ( at TENN )- I picked up WR P Dorsett in a couple leagues in Week 6, and QB A Luck wouldn’t even look at him. Dorsett had only two lousy catches for 12 yards, and now he’s injured along with TE D Allen. This can only mean even more targets for Doyle. Only owned in 11% of Yahoo leagues.

Panic or Do Not Panic Week 5

Panic or Do Not Panic Week 5 by Utter-Fantasy Writer & Illustrator Doug Bowles

“Panic/ Don’t Panic” updates are an Utter-Fantasy original weekly column that tries to help fantasy football owners decide on players that should be producing big weeks for them, but so far, are not. Most fantasy football owners prepare for weeks, even months for their fantasy football drafts, and when it’s all over, they hope that their team is the best. After week one of the NFL season, some of us are rejoicing in our selections, while some of us are agonizing over them. Now it’s decision making time regarding the waiver wire, and who we have on our current rosters. I like to see a lot of opinions, and I hope mine help you make some of your tough decisions. That being said, it’s only Week 5, so I truly hope I’m re-tracking my “Panic’ players after Week 6. Until then….here’s my list of players to “Panic’ or “Do Not Panic” about…..

PANIC QBs

NYG QB Eli Manning- Manning has 5 TD passes in 5 games, with 3 coming in Week 1 . ( so 2 TD passes in the past 4 games!)  With BALT and LAR up next and WR Odell Beckham unable to keep his cool….you can “Panic.”

NYJ QB Ryan Fitzpatrick- Likely to be a regular here, because his NFL performances have been dismal, his receiving corps are decimated and his schedule is brutal.

DAL Dak Prescott- “Panic” a little. Although he’s winning games, I think Dallas is serious when they say it’s still QB Romo’s job when he gets back. The Cowboys have played Chicago, San Francisco and Cincinnati, 2 of them at home, so Prescott was suppose to win those. He’s averaging only 240 yards a game. Green Bay and Philadelphia up next.

PANIC RBs

CINN  RB Jeremy Hill– I’ve warned of his brutal schedule, and now he’s injured. I wish I didn’t have him on any of my teams, but I do.

LAR RB Todd Gurley- His production hasn’t been worthy of his early first round draft pick that is for certain. Defenses just are not afraid of the Rams quarterback, and why would they be, so they can stack the box. Although he has some nice match ups in the 2nd half, I’d be willing to package him for the right deal.

NYJ RB Matt Forte- Almost zippo for stats the past 3 weeks. It won’t get much better because of his schedule until after his Week 11 Bye…IF he is healthy.

JACK RB Chris Ivory- is back and playing terrible. JACK RB TJ Yeldon’s performance in Week 4 & Week 5 were actually rather impressive.

Others too good to panic about…but:

OAK RB Latavius Murray- Even if he comes back from his toe injury, which we know can linger, he will share with RB DeAndre Washington. His not the starter that we drafted early, prior to Week 1.

PANIC WRs

CHI WR Alshon Jeffery- He’s had great match ups and done nothing with new QB Brian Hoyer. If at home vs the Jags in Week 6 doesn’t help you in your fantasy leagues, you may want to move on from him. GB, then at MINN, then a Bye up next.

NYG WR Sterling Shapard- With TONs of promise, Shepard goes as Manning goes, which is down the toidy! Manning has 2 TDs in the past 4 games.

BALT WR Mike Wallace- Unfortunately he is dependent on a huge play to have a good game. Those are few and far between. He also wears down like Steve Smith does and he’s injured.

Others too good to panic about…but:

SEA WR Doug Baldwin- Baldwin has tow good games so far, and two stinkers….BUT… QB R Wilson has been injured. Hopefully both come back from Bye Week healthy and motivated. Stay Patient.

DON’T PANIC QBs

ATL QB Matt Ryan- Ryan took on Carolina and Denver and did very well, although his stats in Week 3 and 5 were not great.

JACK QB Blake Bortles- Chicago, Oakland and Tennessee up after their Week 5 Bye. Don’t Panic.

TB QB J Winston- Before their upcoming Bye in Week 6, Tampa Bay had to fight the Rams, the Broncos and the Panthers…ouch! Starting in Week 7, the 49ers, the Raiders, the Falcons and the Bears. Buy low.

DON’T PANIC RBs

HOU RB Lamar Miller- His schedule has not been easy, but he is still healthy and with outstanding match ups coming in 2nd half. Let’s see how he does at home vs a bad INDY, but I wouldn’t trade him away. Fantasy football owners who don’t have him, are now trying to get him.

SEA RB C Michael- I admit to not being a huge believer in RB Michael, because he has had many opportunities before 2016 to be successful, and he hasn’t been. Despite only having one good game so far, RB Thomas Rawls (fibula) is expected to miss all of October AND QB Russell Wilson is close to being healthy.

PHIL RB Ryan Mathews- Although it was not a huge day after his Week 5, Ryan in Week 6 had 75 total yards and a TD. He’s healthy and is the starter.

DON’T PANIC WRs

JACK WRs Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns- After their Week 5 bye, Jags have CHI-OAK-TENN and KC. It has to get better!

HOU WR Will Fuller- The Houston wide outs were not going to have good days vs New England nor Minnesota. QB Brock Osweiler grew a little in those tough games, and has INDY up next. (May have to sit Fuller Week 7 vs Denver however.)

GB WR Jordy Nelson- Only one big game so far, and you drafted him early for better games than one big game so far. They are coming! At home vs DAL and CHI….then at ATL, then back home vs INDY. Yummy!

Panic or Do Not Panic Week 4

Panic or Do Not Panic Week 3

Week 6 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football

Week 6 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football by Utter-Fantasy Football Writer & Illustrator Doug Bowles

Another week, another quarterback down for the Cleveland Browns. For once in four weeks however, we can look back at the weekend of NFL games and talk about for the most part what happened, rather than who got injured. Other than GB RB Eddie Lacy‘s ankle injury ( Lacy said his ankle is “alright” following the Packers’ Week 5 win) the other significant injury to report from an offense is BALT WR Steve Smith, who  left Sunday’s game against the Washington Redskins with an ankle injury. He was later ruled out for the remainder of the game.

NFL injuries are inevitable, and fantasy football owners must roll with the punches and use the waiver wire to survive losses to their rosters and to improve them. Bye weeks can also create many roster problems for fantasy football owners, especially if they did not pay attention to them during the drafts and have many players from their team off on the same bye week.

Bye Week 6: Minnesota and Tampa Bay

Quarterbacks Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 6

CHI QB Brian Hoyer ( at IND)- A Utter-Fantasy Waiver Wire recommendation for Week 5– Hoyer completed 33/43 passes for 397 yards and 2 TDs in Sunday’s Week 5 loss to INDY. Nice match up Week 5 vs JACK. ( Note: Bears coach John Fox said Brian Hoyer could keep the team’s starting job regardless of Jay Cutler’s (thumb) health.)

KC QB Alex Smith ( at OAK )- Although Capt. Deacon Dunk would not be a recommendation in almost any week, you may be in a deep league and have MINN QB Sam Bradford or TB QB J Winston on a “bye” in Week 5. Smith is only owned in 18% of Yahoo leagues, with a favorable match up.

BUFF QB Tyrod Taylor ( vs SF )- The good news about Taylor, if you have to start him this week, is that he only has thrown 2 INTs this season, one of the fewest for any starting QB.  Owned in 62% of Yahoo leagues. ( San Francisco is 19th vs the pass)

Running Backs Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 6

CAR RB Jonathon Stewart ( at NO)- According to sources close to the Panther organization, RB Jonathan Stewart (hamstring) “appears set to return” this week against the Saints. ( Note: he has a ‘Bye” in Week 7)

NYG RB Bobby Rainey ( vs BALT)- In Week 5, Rainey racked up 74 total yards on 11 touches for New York, the most for any Giant’s running back. He is proving more versatile for the needs of QB Eli Manning, who is struggling. Tough match up. UPDATE: RB Rashad Jennings (thumb) was limited in Wednesday’s practice and the MYG are facing TOUGH Ravens’ run defense.

BALT RB Terrance West ( vs NYG)- Unless HC J Harbaugh pulls a Bill Belichick, the Ravens might finally have settled on a running back. Terrance West rushed 21 times for 113 yards and a TD in Week 4 vs the Raiders. Owned in 29% of Yahoo leagues before Week 4, now owned in 78% of Yahoo leagues.

NE RB James White ( vs CINN)- I never like recommending any Pat’s RB pick up, because every week will be different. If you are in deep league however, RB Blount has a hip injury and White totaled 89 yards at Cleveland in Week 5.

MIA RB Jay Ajayi / Arain Foster ( vs PITT)- Ajayi had 13 carries for 42 yards and 1 TD for the Dolphins, by far the most for this crowded back field. So far, HC Gase is keeping his word about ending his former RBBC approach. UPDATE: Arian Foster (groin, hamstring) is expected to play Week 6 against the Steelers.

Foster is practicing again Wednesday after being limited in practice all last week.

deep deep leagues ARI RB Andre Ellington- With RB Chris Johnson (groin, injured reserve) is undergoing sports-hernia surgery, the 2nd RB duties should fall on Ellington.

GB RB James Starks ( vs DAL)- Dicier situation…..GB HC Mike McCarthy confirmed Monday that RB Eddie Lacy’s ankle injury is “not serious,” but didn’t commit to Lacy playing in Week 6 against the Cowboys. If Lacy cannot go, Starks will be in for a heavy load. UPDATE: Lacy was limited Wednesday while Starks was listed as DNP.

Wide Receiver Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 6

PITT WR Sammie Coates ( at MIA)-  Someone has to start getting receptions other than WR Antonio Brown, and the Steelers made a conscience effort to get Sammy ” I drop as many as I catch” Coates. He caught 6/11 targets for 139 yards and 2 TDs. Expect the effort to get him the ball to continue because WR Wheaton has been even a bigger disappointment.

CINN WR Brandon LaFell ( at NE)- Granted, most of his scoring ( 8-of-11 targets for 68 yards and two touchdowns ) came in trash time in Week 5 when the Bengals were already out of it, but Cincinnati has to get another wide out involved in their offense.

LAR WR Tavon Austin ( at DET)- A great match up coming in Week 6. Austion had 10 touches in Week 5 totaling 85 yards. Only 1 TD so far this year.

CHI WR Cameron Meredith- ( vs JACK )- Like Cleveland QBs, Chicago loses a wide reciever, and another steps in. WRs Kevin White is OUT and Eddie Royal injured again, so 6’3″Meredith ( 9-of-12 targets for 130 yards and a touchdown) will line up opposite WR Alshon Jeffery for the immediate future.

GB WR Davante Adams ( vs DAL)- No question the #3 option for QB A Rodgers. 5/8 targets for 85 yards and 1 TD in Week 5. Adams has 3 TDs in 2016, WR Cobb has none.

MINN WR Adam Thielen (Bye Week)- Consider him as a bye week replacement when he comes back in Week 7.

Other candidates-

Tight Ends Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 6

SD  TE Hunter Henry ( at OAK)- –Week 4 Utter-Fantasy Waiver Wire Recommendation- Despite having TE Antonio Gates return to the starting line up, Henry now has 3 nice games in a row for the SD tight end, and likely a very good tight end for fantasy football owners moving forward. Only owned in 28% of Yahoo leagues.

CHI TE Zach Miller ( at IND )- Week 4 Utter-Fantasy Waiver Wire Recommendation- new QB Brian Hoyer is on the same page with his TE Miller, who caught 7/8 passes for 73 yards in Week 5 against the Colts. Only owned in 71% of Yahoo leagues.

Start Em Sit Em Week 5 2016

Start Em Sit Em Week 5 2016 by Utter-Fantasy Football Writer & Illustrator Doug Bowles

Like other fantasy prognosticators, below are my Start Em Sit Em Week 5 2016 players, minus the obvious. ( No one needs to read that I think fantasy football owners should start QB Aaron Rodgers at home vs the Giants) For the Record- I don’t claim to have anymore insight on the games than the fantasy league owners reading these, but I do enjoy sharing my “IMOs” on them, as well as reading yours :) Good Luck this week!

Start Em Sit Em Week 5 2016

Quarterbacks NFL Start Em Week 5 2016

SD QB Philip Rivers (at OAK) – The Raiders are the #28 defense in the league, 28th vs the pass. Should be a big day for Rivers and his receiving corps.

PHIL QB C Wentz ( at DET)- Detroit is the WORST passing defense in the NFL.

TB QB J Winston ( at CAR)- In Week 4, ATL QB M Ryan threw for over 500 yards ( 4 TDs) vs Carolina. The Panther’s defense isn’t the same without DB Josh Norman.

CINN QB A Dalton ( at DAL)- This is not a great match up for Dalton, but he will likely be forced to pass a ton in this game. Dallas is 16th vs the run, but 24th vs the pass.

I also like DAL Dak Prescott ( vs CINN)-

Running backs NFL Start Em Week 5 2016

ARI RB David Johnson – HC Bruce Arians must be successful in the running game. He should be feeding RB David Johnson all night.

SF RB Carlos Hyde – Hyde has a tough match up …BUT….he also did in Week 1 ( LA Rams….88 yards rushing with 2 TDs) and Week 3 ( Seattle Seahawks….103 yards rushing with 2 TDs). He finds a way.

CHI RB Jordan Howard ( at IND)- Howard had his first 100+ yard game in Week 4, he’ll likely get his 2nd vs a bad INDY defense.

BALT RB Terrance West ( vs WASH)- If HC Harbaugh commits to West like he did in Week 4, which I think he will, West has an opportunity for a big game.

IND RB Frank Gore ( vs CHI)- Running well and has a good match up.

others I like very much…- NE L Blount (at CLEV.)…PHIL R Mathews ( at DET)….SD RB GM Gordon ( at OAK)

No brainer…..DEN RB CJ Anderson ( vs ATL)

RB Sleepers Week 5..OAK DeAndre Washington ( vs SD)

Wide Receivers NFL Start Em Week 5 2016

NE WRs Ju Edleman/ Chris Hogan ( at CLEV ) – QB Tom Brady’s first game back should be a good one.

IND WRs TY Hilton/ P Dorsett ( vs CHI)- Both should have a very decent game vs a bad Chicago team.

SD WRs D Inman ( vs OAK)- WR Travis Benjamin should also have a good game in Week 5 at Oakland, but he did lose a costly fumble last week, and has been only lining up in 3 receiver sets. I put WR Tyrell Williams as a WR3.

MIA WRs J Landry/ Kenny Stills ( vs TENN)- Weather permitting, both of these wide outs should be on the receiving end of many passes from QB Tannehill.

No Brainers: WRs Demaryius Thomas/ Emmanuel Sanders ( vs ATL)…CINN A J Green ( vat DAL)

WR Sleepers: BALT Steve Smith ( vs WASH)….PHIL Jordan Matthews (at DET)….NYG WR Sterling Shepard ( at GB)…DAL WR Brice Butler ( vs CINN)

Tight Ends NFL Start Em Week 5 2016

CHI TE Zach Miller (at IND )- Miller has been QB Brian Hoyer’s go-to-guy for TDs.

MINN TE Kyle Rudolph ( vs HOU)- Rudolph has a TD pass in 3 straight games. likely be 4 straight games.

PITT TE Jesse James ( NYJ)- Neither New York NFL team ( Giants nor the Jets) are very good defending the TE position.

Defenses NFL Start Em Week 5 2016

NEW ENGLAND (at CLEV) – This Pat’s will be furious about the shut out in Week 4, and they’ll be taking it out on the Browns.

GREEN BAY (vs the NYG) – QB Eli Manning has 4 INTs in 4 games so far, and has been held without a passing touchdown in two of those games.

No Brainer DEF starts: PHIL ( at DET)….ARI ( at SF)

Quarterbacks NFL Sit Em Week 5 2016

ARI QB Drew Stanton- QB C Palmer is OUT on concussion protocal. Stanto may surprise because the Bengals secondary has been vulnerable, but more than likely, he’ll be a game-manager. Stanton only scompleted 5 passes in the NFL in 2015.

SF QB Blaine Gabbert- The Cardinals are 1-3 and that is NOT sitting well in Arizona. Expect tons of pressure on Gabbert, with the other priority…shutting down RB Carlos Hyde.

TENN QB Marcus Mariota (at MIA)- His sophomore slump is real, and he has only 4 TD in the first 4 games. Hopefully you have better options until he gets his groove back.

HOU QB Brock Osweiler ( at MINN)- This Viking’s defense is shutting teams DOWN! Rough week for Osweiler and the Texans coming up.

NYJ QB Ryan Fitz ( at PITT)- Until Fitz gets back into NFL form, I can’t start him…can you? ( Doesn’t help having WR Eric Decker injured either)

BUFF QB Tyrod Taylor ( at LAR)- I prefer a better match up.

Running backs NFL Sit Em Week 5 2016

CLEV RB I Crowell ( vs NE)– The Pats will shut down any Brown’s running game and force rookie QB C Kessler to beat them thru the air, which he won’t be able to do.

WASH RB Matt Jones ( at BALT)– Jones surprised most fantasy football owners with a good game in Week 4, but he faces the Raven’s #1 run defense in the NFL. Very unlikely he surprises in Week 5.

DET RB Theo Riddick ( vs PHIL)– The #2 Eagle defense will give up some yardage to Riddick in Week 5, but I do not see a lot, nor a TD from him.

Other RBs I don’t like in Week 4- NYG Orleans Darkwa ( at GB)

Sit Em if you can…….MIA RB Jay Ajayi ( vs TENN)….Decent match up but I want to see HC Gase stop using RBBC like he said he would do, before I sit anyone for Ajayi.

Wide Receivers NFL  Sit Em Week 5 2016

ALL ARI WRs- I do not like QB Drew Stanton as the starter this week, and although you are sitting talented wide outs, I have to think you have better options this week.

ALL SF WRS ( at NE )- I would not start any of them.

MINN WR Stefon Diggs ( vs HOU)- The Texans are 5th vs the pass and so far in QB Sam Bradford’s Viking career, Diggs hasn’t been one of the guys that he’s leaned on. I’ll wait until he does. UPDATE: Stefon Diggs didn’t practice today due to groin injury.

CLEV WR Terrelle Pryor ( vs NE)- NE Hc Bill Belichick likes to eliminate a team’s big threats, and currently those 2 guys are RB I Crowell and WR Terrelle Pryor.

HOU WR Will Fuller ( at MINN)- I realize that Fuller is hard talent to Sit, but the Vikings defense did not allow a passing touchdown from CAR QB Cam Newton in Week 3 or a passing touchdown from NYG QB Eli Manning in Week 4. ( only 1 passing touchdown from GB QB A Rodgers in Week 2). I don’t even like WR DeAndre Hopkins in Week 5.

Tight Ends NFL  Sit Em Week 5 2016

CLEV TE Gary Barndge ( vs NE)- He’s done nothing and this is too tough a match up to start him.

IND TE Dwayne Allen ( vs CHI)- Start him if you must, but so far he’s averaging 2 catches a game. QB A Luck just isn’t looking for him.

ATL TE J Tamme ( at DEN)- He’s been invisible for a couple weeks now, and the match up says “Sit Em”

Defenses NFL Sit Em Week 5 2016

CHICAGO (at IND) – This will likely be the game that fantasy football owners have been waiting for from QB A Luck.

CINCINNATI (at DAL) – RB Zeke Elliott will have a good day, as will QB Dak Prescott with all his weapons and that O-Line.

No Brainer DEF sits: PHIL ( at DET)….ARI ( at SF)

Panic or Do Not Panic Week 4

Panic or Do Not Panic Week 4 by Utter-Fantasy Writer & Illustrator Doug Bowles

The Utter-Fantasy original..the weekly “Panic/ Don’t Panic” updates: Most fantasy football owners prepare for weeks, even months for their fantasy football drafts, and when it’s all over, they hope that their team is the best. After week one of the NFL season, some of us are rejoicing in our selections, while some of us are agonizing over them. Now it’s decision making time regarding the waiver wire, and who we have on our current rosters. I like to see a lot of opinions, and I hope mine help you make some of your tough decisions. That being said, it’s only Week 4, so I truly hope I’m re-tracking my “Panic’ players after Week 5. Until then….here’s my list of players to “Panic’ or “Do Not Panic” about…..

PANIC QBs

TENN Marcus Mariota- One of my “Panics” following Week 3-LINK- and Mariota has gone 2 weeks now without throwing a touchdown pass. The sophomore jinx is working at full capacity. Panic and Pass on ROS.….if he can’t right the ship with this schedule coming up … (MIA-CLEV-IND-JACK-SD )

NYJ QB Ryan Fitzpatrick- We have seen this before. A quarterback demanding more money holds out in training camp and into the preseason, then fails miserably. Fitzpatrick’s performance Week 3 and Week 4 were embarrassments and his schedule is going to cause more embarrassments…SEA-PITT- then ARI  up next.

CINN QB Andy Dalton- The AJ Green connection is there, but nothing else is. He’s not getting Gio involved, he’s not getting WRs LaFell involved, nor the speedy rookie WR Tyler Boyd. Dalton has only 3 TDs on the season. If C Wentz or Dak Prescott were available, it may be time consider moving on from Dalton.

PANIC RBs

CINN  RB Jeremy Hill1) Hill’s schedule is BRUTAL. He has faced very tough teams vs the run and will so in upcoming games. 2) QB A Dalton is one of my “Panic” QBs, so how can the running game NOT be effected? At Dallas then at NE….ugh.

HOU RB Lamar Miller- Zero touchdowns in 2016 and topping 100 yards only once….how could you NOT be panicking? Let’s face it, we drafted him too high, but if you are in a deep league, you can’t drop or trade him. You just have to hope for some good games when he plays the weaker defenses.

JACK RB Chris Ivory- is back and playing terrible. JACK RB TJ Yeldon’s performance in Week 4 ( 14/71 averaging 5.1 yards per carry) really gave us reasons to “Panic” over Ivory. Who knows what will happen after their Bye week? I’d like to avoid both.

Utter-Fantasy’s “Panic” RBs from Week 3……T Rawls, J Forsett, TJ Yeldon, M Jones and Theo Riddick.

Others too good to panic about…but:

OAK RB Latavius Murray- Dealing with a (toe injury which we know can linger) is “doubtful” to play in Week 5 against the Chargers. RB DeAndre Washington is the Raiders’ likely starter for Week 5 against the Chargers.

PANIC WRs

MINN WR Stefon Diggs- Very talented but here’s why I’m about to “Panic”….you never know what the chemistry is going to be between a new QB ( Sam Bradford) and his new WRs. So far Diggs isn’t one of them. Only 40 yards in Week 3, only 47 yards in Week 5, and WRs Charles Johnson and C Patterson are getting more targets every week. TE K Rudolph is the redzone target.

CHI WR Alshon Jeffery- This guy is killing fantasy football owners who drafted him high, like yours truly. Now he’s injured.

GB WR Randall Cobb- Are you really surprised? It didn’t happen in 2015 when Jordy was out! Find a cheese-head who still loves Cobb and sell high.

CINN WR Tyler Boyd- Not the weapon yet, that we thought he’s be, and now TE Eifert is due back. He’ll have some good games, but unless you are in deep league, there must be better options for you.

Others too good to panic about…but:

JACK Allen Hurns- This guy is also killing fantasy football owners who drafted him high, like yours truly. QB Blake Bortles was the #16 QB in the NFL after Week 3, but the #9 after Week 4, so it’s getting better.

PANIC TEs

CLEV TE Gary Barnidge- Zero TDs and hasn’t topped more than 66 yards receiving. QB RG3 going sown really hurt his stats. Right now, I think I’d rather own SD TE Hunter Henry. ( Barndge’s targets have risen however)

IND TE Dwayne Allen- Although QB Luck was out much of 2015, did you know Allen only had 109 receiving yards and only 1 TD in 11 games last year? After his Week 1 performance, Allen now has a total of 75 yards in 3 games. That’s a 25 yards average.

ATL TE Austin Hooper- DEN TE Virgil Green- NYG TE Will Tye- Not enough targets.

DON’T PANIC QBs

SEA QB Russell Wilson- A Bye in Week 5 which will help Wilson tremendously to get healthy.  Stay patient.

JACK QB Blake Bortles- After a slow start, Bortles is starting to find his groove. QB Blake Bortles was the #16 QB in the NFL after Week 3, but the #9 after Week 4, so it’s getting better.

TB QB J Winston- His schedule was pretty rough, facing Arizona, L Rams, Denver and now Carolina in Week 5. After his Week 6 Bye, Winston has SF, OAK, ATL and Chicago. Buy low!

DON’T PANIC RBs

PHIL RB Ryan Mathews- PHIL QB C Wentz looks like the real deal, so defenses can’t just stack the box. HC Doug Pederson said Ryan Mathews (ankle) is healthy and will remain the Eagles’ starting running back

NE RB Le Blount- I know everyone is jumping off the Blount wagon, but I’m not so sure that’s a good idea. QB Tom Brady will be motivated and moving the ball up and down the field. I think Blount gets plenty of goal line opportunities. I may be wrong, but I see if I am before moving on from Blount.

DEN RB CJ Anderson- Big start in week 1, then an average Week 2, followed by a terrible Week 3. Like Lacy, then an average Week 4. Anderson’s schedule is so inviting, I want to find a fantasy football owner who has gotten discouraged and wants to trade him away.

DON’T PANIC WRs

NO WR Willie Snead- Snead started out the season very strong, but a tow injury had him miss week 3, followed by a below average week 4. Now on a bye week, he will be available in more leagues than he should be. He is reportedly back to 100%.

PHIL WR Jordan Matthews- Matthews had a great Week 1 ( 114 yards and 1 TD) then fell off some in Weeks 3 & 4. Every wide out has a few down weeks ( ATL Julio Jones had 1 catch for 16 yards in Week 3. Matthews is the #1 WR in Philly and may be available because of the Bye in Week 4.

OAK WR Amari Cooper- Defenses have been focusing on Cooper ( zero TDs in 2016) meanwhile WR Michael Crabtree hauled in 3 TDs in Week 4 and has out -targeted Cooper in back-to-back games. Week 4’s performance should cause defenses to pay attention to Crabtree and allow Cooper some huge games again.

DON’T PANIC TEs

TENN Delanie Walker- Walker led the team with 8 targets in Week 4 but his return from a one-week hamstring injury did not lead to a big game. QB Marcus Mariota’s sophomore slump is getting serious, but TENN has MIA-CLEV-IND-JACK in the next 4 weeks, and the last 3 are all home games. Delanie and Mariota will be 2016 busts if this 4 week schedule doesn’t help them.

DAL TE J Witten- Zero TDs in 2016, but he was targeted in the endzone a few times this year. 9 targets in Week 4 should be a sign of good things to come ( Dez is still injured)

Borderline:

KC Te Travis Kelce- One good game out of the first four. With the ultra conservative KC offense, this is about the pace you can expect.

Panic or Do Not Panic Week 3

Week 5 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football

Week 5 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football by Utter-Fantasy Football Writer & Illustrator Doug Bowles

It was a tough for injuries to NFL quarterbacks in Week 4 and for fantasy football owners. ARI QB Carson Palmer was escorted to the locker room after his head bounced off the turf late in the game vs the Rams. DEN QB Trevor Siemian suffered a left shoulder (non-throwing) injury in the 2nd qtr. CAR QB Cam Newton could miss Week 5 after taking a helmet-to-helmet hit on a 2pt conversion in the 4th qtr.

First Bye Week is in Week 5: Jacksonville, Kansas City, New Orleans and Seattle

Quarterbacks Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 5

DAL QB Dak Prescott ( vs CINN )- Prescott completed 23/32 passes for 245 yards and 2 touchdowns against the 49ers in Week 4. He is currently the #17 QB in the NFL and only owned in 59% of Yahoo leagues.

PHIL QB Carson Wentz ( at DET)- Wentz had a bye week in Week, but proved more than capable in Week 3…completing 23/31 passes for 301 yards and two touchdowns. Only owned in 37% of Yahoo leagues. ( Detroit is currently #32 vs the pass….dead last!)

CHI QB Brian Hoyer ( at IND)- Brian Hoyer completed 28/36 passes for 302 yards, 2 TDs and 0 INTS in the Bears’ 17-14, Week 4 win over the Lions. Nice match up Week 5 vs the Colts. ( Note: Bears coach John Fox said Brian Hoyer could keep the team’s starting job regardless of Jay Cutler’s (thumb) health.)

deep leagues- ARI QB Drew Stanton (at SF)- The Cardinals travel to San Francisco for Thursday Night Football, and with QB Carson Palmer in the league’s mandatory concussion protocol, it’s fairly unlikely that he could play on Thursday.

deeper leagues CAR QB Derek Anderson ( vs TB)-  IF QB Cam Newton cannot participate in Week 5 due to the league’s mandatory concussion protocol, Anderson has a favorable match up in Week 5 and was impressive in his short duty in Week 4 ( 17/23…172 yards and 2 TDs). ( Cam has an extra long week to recover, with the Panthers playing on Monday Night Week 5.)

Running Backs Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 5

CHI RB Jordan Howard ( at IND)- Some fantasy football owners jumped on the Howard train in Week 4 waivers, while others wanted to see proof first. Still owned in 82% of Yahoo leagues. HC John Fox said Jordan Howard was “outstanding” and “we’ll ride him pretty good moving forward.”

BALT RB Terrance West ( vs WASH )- Unless HC J Harbaugh pulls a Bill Belichick, the Ravens might finally have settled on a running back. Terrance West rushed 21 times for 113 yards and a TD in Week 4 vs the Raiders. Only owned in 29% of Yahoo leagues.

MIA RB Jay Ajayi ( vs TENN)- Coach Adam Gase said using a four-running back committee the past two weeks was “some bad coaching by me,” and he plans to scrap it. Fantasy football owners agree!

NYJ RB Bilal Powell ( at PITT)- Powell rushed 4/26 yards and caught 6/9 targets for 54 yards in Week 4 in loss to the Seahawks. Powell has now touched the ball 10 times each in Weeks 3 and 4. Powell should be owned in all formats, especially with Forte reportedly carted to the X-rays room after the loss. Only owned in 22% of Yahoo leagues.

CAR RB Fozzy Whitaker  (vs TB)- Fozzy Whittaker caught 9/9 targets for 86 yards and rushed 3 times for 6 yards in Week 4. If QB Cam Newton ( concussion) cannot play in Week 5, the Panthers will likely lean on the rushing game. Whitaker is also the preferred receiving back for Carolina, an option QB Derek Anderson may also lean on.

deeper leagues PHIL RB Darren Sproles/ Wendall Smallwood ( at DET)- Prior to their Week 4 bye, Sproles led the Eagles in Week 4 in targets, catches and receiving yards. He caught all 6 of his targets for 126 yards. In Week 3, Smallwood had 79 yards and a touchdown against Pittsburgh. He is a great speculative add in deeper leagues. ( RB Ryan Mathews was dealing with stiffness and swelling in the ankle he injured prior to training camp and came out of the game in Week 4 and never returned.)

deeper leagues ARI RB Andre Ellington- With RB Chris Johnson (groin, injured reserve) is undergoing sports-hernia surgery, the 2nd RB duties should fall on Ellington.

Wide Receiver Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 5

BALT WR Steve Smith (vs WASH)-  After a slow start, Steve Smith Sr. has 9+ targets in 3 of 4 games. In Week 4 Smith caught 8/11 targets for 111 yards and a TD. Only owned in 63% of Yahoo leagues.

SD WR Dontrelle Inman- ( at OAK)- Inman caught 7/11 targets for 120 yards and a touchdown in the Chargers’ Week 4 loss to the Saints. ( WR T Benjamin had a costly fumble in the 4th qtr which may have cost the Chargers the game and QB P Rivers trust)

DAL Terrance Williams/ and Brice Butler- Even before WR Dez Bryant’s injury, new QB Dak Prescott was passing the ball around to everyone, including WR Williams. Terrance Williams caught 4/6 targets for 44 yards and a TD in Week 4. Only owned in 9% of Yahoo leagues.   Bruce Butler- Caught 5/9 targets for 41 yards and a TD in Week 4.

IND WR Philip Dorsett ( vs CHI)- Week 4 Utter-Fantasy Waiver Wire Recommendation- WR Donte Moncrief is expected to miss about another month with a broken shoulder blade. Although Dorsett only had one reception in Week 4, it was a 64-yard touchdown catch. Only owned in 53% of Yahoo leagues.

CLEV Terrelle Pryor (vs NE)- An integral part of the Cleveland offense, Pryor has a tough match up in week 5 however. Owned in 82% of Yahoo leagues.

Other candidates-

CHI WR  Eddie Royal ( at IND)- Royal has out-produced disappointing WR Kevin White all season so far, and now White needing an MRI on his injured ankle.

CAR WR Ted Ginn Jr ( vs TB)- WR Devin Funchess left the Week 4 game with a toe injury late in the 4th quarter & did not return. Toe injuries can linger, so Funchess should be considered highly questionable for Week 5.

Tight Ends Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 5

PHIL TE Zach Ertz ( at DET)-  Ertz (ribs) had his MRI came back clear and he plans to play Week 5 against the Lions. Only owned in 63% of Yahoo leagues.

SD  TE Hunter Henry ( at OAK)- –Week 4 Utter-Fantasy Waiver Wire Recommendation- Two nice games in a row for the SD tight end, and likely a very good tight end for fantasy football owners moving forward. Henry caught 4/7 targets for 61 yards and 1 TD in Week 4 against the Saints. Only owned in 30% of Yahoo leagues, but this will drastically change this week. Get him while you can.

CHI TE Zach Miller ( at IND )- Week 4 Utter-Fantasy Waiver Wire Recommendation- new QB Brian Hoyer is on the same page with his TE Miller, who caught 3/3 targets for 31 yards and 1 TD in the Bears’ Week 4 win over the Lions. Only owned in 60% of Yahoo leagues.

TB TE Cameron Brate ( at CAR)- TE ASJ is gone (thankfully) and Brate finally gets the starting gig by himself. 18 targtes in thepast 2 weeks, and 2 TD receptions in Week 3. Tough match up however in Week 5.

GB TE Richard Rodgers ( vs NYG) – Before their Week 4 Bye, the Packers TE Jared Cook suffered a high-ankle sprain Week 3 against the Lions. In Week 3 Rodgers had 2 receptions for 9 yards and 1 TD. UPDATE: Jared Cook (ankle) will not play in Week 5 against the Giants.

More Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 5 coming as the week progresses.

Week 4 Sleepers Fantasy Football

Week 4 Sleepers Fantasy Football by Utter-Fantasy Football Writer & Illustrator  Doug Bowles

You may be heading into Week 4 with some fantasy football injury concerns in your line ups, especially in deep leagues and regardless of the league the waiver wire has been picked over. You may also have roster difficulties resulting from the 2 teams on the week 4 Bye. ( PHIL and GREEN BAY). Fantasy Sleepers are late-round picks or waiver-wire selections who may exceed their statistical expectations.

Each week Utter-Fantasy tries to find the sleepers which may be available for you, leading up to the NFL Week 4 regular season game. Here are a few player suggestions for especially for those in very deep leagues, or heading into Week 4 with injuries concerns (such as TB RB Doug Martin, BUFF WR Sammy Watkins or NYJ WR Eric Decker.)

QB Week 4 Sleepers Fantasy Football

DEN QB Trevor Siemian ( at Tampa Bay)- The new Denver quarterback is getting more comfortable every week, and has plenty of weapons. He completed 23/35 passes for 312 yards and 4 TDs in Week 3’s win over the Bengals. If you have PHIL QB Wentz or GB QB A Rodgers ( bye Week 4), this is a nice matchup.

MINN QB Sam Bradford ( vs NYG)- In only his 1st game with the Vikings, Bradford and Co got one in the “win”column” at Carolina, which ain’t easy.  Bradford went 18/28 for 171 yards and 1 TD ( 0 INTs). If he can that against the Panthers in Carolina, he should do well at home vs the #22 pass defense of the Giants.

RB Week 4 Sleepers Fantasy Football

NYG RB Orleans Darkwa (vs MINN)- RB Shane Vereen will miss the rest of the season with a triceps injury, so RB Orleans Darkwa is a waiver wire pick up once again. He rushed 10 times for 53 yards and a touchdown in the Giants’ Week 3. NOT an ideal match up Week 4 at Minnesota however.

TB Charles Sims ( vs DEN)- The match up was terrible vs the LA Rams in Week 3, but Sims racked up 124 total yards and 1 TD. Another terrible match up but once again, the workload will be huge. Now owned in 82% of Yahoo leagues.

NYJ Bilal Powell ( vs SEA)- The match up is terrible but the Jets are now without WR Eric Decker and Powell had 6 targets in Week 3…those should go up. Powell had 10 touches total in week 3 for 71 total yards.

WR Week 4 Sleepers Fantasy Football

DAL Terrance Williams/ Brice Butler- ( at SF )- It’s looking like WR Dez B will either be out for a few weeks or constantly playing injured. Little WR Cole Beasley is a PPR machine, but he doesn’t get into the endzone. Williams at 6’2″ should take over that role with TE Witten.

NYJ Q Enunwa ( vs SEA )- WR Eric Decker has been rules OUT for Week 4, and likely longer. WR Enunwa will play opposite WR Brandon Marshall.

also NYJ WR Robby Anderson- One of the preseason stars, is expected to serve as the No. 3 receiver in WR Eric Decker’s (shoulder) absence

OAK WR Seth Roberts ( vs BALT )- While defenses are concentrating on shutting down WRs A Cooper and M Cragtree, Roberts is slipping thru coverages and scoring touchdown ( 2 in 3 Weeks so far). WR A Cooper has none.

TE Week 4 Sleepers Fantasy Football

( TEs are the hardest position to try and predict.)

IND TE Doyle ( at JACK in London)- Doyle had a great Week 1, and had the 2nd most receptions and yardage from QB A luck in Week 3. WR D Moncrief ios oiut and Wr P Dorsett is injured.

CHI TE Z Miller ( vs DET) After totaling three catches for 35 yards on 12 combined targets Weeks 1 and 2, Miller caught 8/9 targets for 78 yards and 2 TDs in Week 3 against Dallas. Miller has been more involved since QB Brian Hoyer took over in QB Cutler’s absence and faces the Lions who cannot cover tight ends.

SD  TE Hunter Henry ( vs NO)- Henry caught 5/5 targets for 76 yards in the Chargers’ Week 3 loss to the Colts. TE Antonio Gates (hamstring) “wasn’t close” to suiting up against the Colts, and will likely miss another game.

I also like TE C Brate for the Tampa Bay Bucs.

Week 4 Fantasy Football DEF Sleepers

WASH ( vs CLEV)- Now NFl teams have a week of tape on CLEV rookie QB Cody Kessler. This one shouldn’t be as close as Cleveland made it in Week 3.

LA Rams Defense– Rams should try to capitalize on gun-shy QB C Palmer’s horrific 4 INTs in Week 2, and he has a beat up receiving corps.

K Week 4 Sleepers Fantasy Football

WASH D Hopkins ( vs CLEV )- 11 Field goals in the first 3 Weeks on the NFL season, 0 misses.

SD K Josh Lambo ( vs NO )- The Chargers should be able to move the ball plenty vs the Saints, but it won’t be a surprised if they were stalled a few times near the endzone.

Start Em Sit Em Week 4 2016

Start Em Sit Em Week 4 2016 by Utter-Fantasy Football Writer & Illustrator Doug Bowles

Like other fantasy prognosticators, below are my Start Em Sit Em Week 4 2016 players, minus the obvious. ( No one needs to read that I think fantasy football owners should start WR Antonio Brown at home vs Kansas City) For the Record- I don’t claim to have anymore insight on the games than the fantasy league owners reading these, but I do enjoy sharing my “IMOs” on them, as well as reading yours :) Good Luck this week!

NFL Start Em Sit Em Week 4 2016

Quarterbacks NFL Start Em Week 4 2016

SD QB Philip Rivers (vs NO) – DC Rob Ryan wasn’t the only problem in 2015 for the Saint’s defense. New Orleans D is so bad, every offense is a must start against them.

WASH QB Kirk Cousins ( vs CLEV )- Capt. Kirk is the #2 QB in the NFL for yardage, only behind NO QB D Brees. If the TDs were there, he’d be one of the biggest steals so far in fantasy football drafts.

JACK QB Blake Bortles ( vs IND in London)- The Colts will get DB Patrick Robinson back this week, but they are still bad. Outstanding week for QB Bortles to look like 2015 QB Bortles.

BALT QB Joe Flacco (at BALT ) – Flacco had a great match up Week 3 and did very little with it. At home vs OAK ( #28 vs the pass and run)..if he doesn’t produced, he can’t be recommended again.

I also like HOU QB Brock Osweiler ( vs TENN)

No Brainers….IND A Luck  (at JACK in London)

Running backs NFL Start Em Week 4 2016

NE RB Le Blount ( vs BUFF) – Start the #1 running back in the NFL so far at home.

CINN RB Jeremy Hill (vs MIA) – Hill had 97 rushing yards and 2 TDs vs a very tough Denver defense Week 3. He can do that against Miami Week 4.

SD Melvin Gordon (vs NO) – Few players I wouldn’t recommend Week 4 vs the Saints.

CHI RB Jordan Howard (vs DET) – The rookie fills in for injured RB J Langford and has a good match up vs the #27 Detroit run defense.

NO Brainer: HOU RB Lamar Miller ( vs TENN) and he had better deliver!…DAL Zeke Elliott ( at SF)….PITT RB LeVeon Bell ( vs KC)

I also like NO RB Mark Ingram ( at SD)- IND RB F Gore ( vs JACK in London)

Start Em if you must…….WASH Matt Jones ( vs CLEV)

RB Sleeper: CLEV RB I Crowell ( at WASH)

Wide Receivers NFL Start Em Week 4 2016

WASH WR DeSean Jackson ( vs CLEV ) – Still has the speed to break a deep one at anytime. Currently the #15 WR in the NFL.

JACK Allen Robinson/ Allen Hurns (vs IND ) – One has to be concerned about the slump QB Blake Bortles is in, although at this time last year, he had only thrown 5 TD passes as well. He has to capitalize on this bad INDY secondary.

HOU WR Will Fuller (vs TENN) – 3/7 targets for 31 yards in Week 3, but it would have been more if not for the “drops”. WR Braxton Miller is likely out, so the targets will be there. Great week for Fuller to get back on track.

IND WRs TY Hilton/ P Dorsett ( at JACK in London)- Both should have a very decent game vs a bad Jacksonville defense.

SD WRs T Benjamin/ Tyrell Williams ( vs NO)- Great match up vs a terrible defense.

No Brainers: NO B Cooks ( at SD)…CINN A J Green ( vs MIA)

WR Sleepers: ARI John Brown( vs LAR)….CLEV Terrelle Pryor (at WASH)….NYG WR Sterling Shepard ( at MINN)…DAL WR Brice Butler

Tight Ends NFL Start Em Week 4 2016

CHI TE Zach Miller (vs DET )- Huge game in week 3 ( 78 yards and 2 TDs). QB Cutler didn’t look for TE Miller, but QB B Hoyer does. DET is one of the worst NFL teams defending the TE position.

NO TE Coby Fleener ( at SD)- QB D Brees said that he would get Fleener involved in the offense, and he did just that in Week 3.

SEA TE Jimmy Graham ( at NYJ)- Seeing is believing, and we are seeing the old Jimmy Graham producing finally for fantasy football owners.

DAL Jason Witten ( at SF)- With WR Dez Bryant likely out for 3+ weeks, Witten’s ( and everyone else’s) targets can only go up.

other notable TE starts: IND TEs Allen ( at JACK in London)….SD TE Hunter Henry (5/5 targets for 76 yards Week 3)

No Brainers: )…WASH J Reed ( vs CLEV)…CAR G Olson ( at ATL)

Defenses NFL Start Em Week 4 2016

NEW ENGLAND (vs BUFF) – This Pat’s defense is for real, and QB Tyrod Taylor isn’t very good.

LAR (at ARI) – ARI QB C Palmer is “off his game” of late, throwing 4 INTs in Week 3. I would not be surprised if he threw 3 INTs Week 4.

No Brainer DEF starts: SEA at NYJ….HOU vs TENN

Quarterbacks NFL  Sit Em Week 4 2016

MIA Ryan Tannehill ( at CINN)- The Bengals are still stinging from the whooping they took in Week 3 from the visiting Broncos. I expect the CINN DEF to step up and make it one rough night for MIA Ryan Tannehill.

BUFF Tyrod Taylor ( at NE )- I know he had two long TD throws in Week 2, but I would not start a QB based on two busted-coverage passes. Tough, tough match up.

TN QB J Winston (vs DEN ) – Winston is struggling and he’ll struggle some more vs the pat’s staunch defense.

ARI QB C Palmer (vs LAR) – Palmer is not playing very well…I prefer a better match up.

No Brainers: NYJ Ryan Fitz (at NE)

Running backs NFL Sit Em Week 4 2016

MIA RBs  J Ayayi/ K Drake/ D Williams (at CINN) – Too many getting touches. Can’t start any of them at Cincinnati.

TB Ch Sims/ Jacq Rodgers ( vs DEN) – They are talented but…I prefer a better match up.

WASH RB Matt Jones (vs CLEV) – He may surprise because of the match up, but he has disappointed so far, and I do not expect anything different.

Others I don’t like in Week 4- BALT RBs ( vs OAK)-….J Forsett- T West- K Dixon- Buck Allen ( maybe)…too many to be success for any fantasy football owner but hey, the Ravens are 3-0 so good for them.

Sit Em if you can…….SF RB C Hyde ( vs DAL)….NYJ RB M Forte ( vs SEA)

Wide Receivers NFL Sit Em Week 4 2016

NYJ WR Brandon Marshall  (at SEA) – Marshal is not 100% and WR Eric Decker is likely OUT….and…QB Ryan Fitz is playing terrible. Add all that to a decent Seattle defense and you get a Sit Em.

NE WRs ( vs BUFF) – The Pat’s defense will likely be able to win this one. Whoever is under center for New England will hit WRs Edleman, Amendola, Hogan, TEs Gronk and/or Bennett, and RBs out of the backfield. I am not going to try to figure out which one.

PITT WR Sammie Coates/ Eli Rogers/ M Wheaton (vs KC ) – Of course WR Antonio Brown will have a good game, and TE Jesse James may get a TD reception, but so far in 2015, Coates/Rogers/Wheaton cannot be counted on by fantasy football owners.

KC WR  Jeremy Maclin ( at PITT)- Currently the #40 wide out in the NFL, and you didn’t draft him to be that. ( Only averaging 50 yards- has only 1 TD). The conservative offense in KC just doesn’t give Maclin very many opportunities to put up big games. Start him if you must.

Sit Em if you can…….WR Mike Evans ( vs DEN)

Tight Ends NFL Sit Em Week 4 2016

NE Martellus Bennett (vs BUFF) – Defense and the running game will win this game for the Pats. Buffalo is #2 in the NFL defending the TE position.

PITT TE Jesse James (vs KC)- I put TE James here because KC is so good vs the other tight ends, but James could get a TD reception without many yards to go with it. ( only 2 catches for 10 yards in Week 30

HOU TE  Ryan Griffin ( vs TENN)- Still not a weapon in this offense.

Defenses NFL Sit Em Week 4 2016

ATL (vs CAR) – They couldn’t slow down New Orleans and won’t stop Carolina.

BUFF ( at NE )- This is going to be a very safe game for the Pats, who have already won 3 games in a row without QB Tom Brady.

MIAMI ( at CINN )- I prefer a better match up.

No Brainers: Don’t start INDY, JACK, or OAK

Panic or Do Not Panic Week 3

Panic or Do Not Panic Week 3 by Utter-Fantasy Writer & Illustrator Doug Bowles

The Utter-Fantasy original..the weekly “Panic/ Don’t Panic” updates: Most fantasy football owners prepare for weeks, even months for their fantasy football drafts, and when it’s all over, they hope that their team is the best. After week one of the NFL season, some of us are rejoicing in our selections, while some of us are agonizing over them. Now it’s decision making time regarding the waiver wire, and who we have on our current rosters. I like to see a lot of opinions, and I hope mine help you make some of your tough decisions. That being said, it’s only Week 3, so I truly hope I’m re-tracking my “Panic’ players after Week 4. Until then….here’s my list of players to “Panic’ or “Do Not Panic” about…..

PANIC QBs

NYJ QB Ryan Fitzpatrick- We have seen this before. A quarterback demanding more money holds out in training camp and into the preseason, then fails miserably. Fitzpatrick’s performance Week 3 was an embarrassment and his schedule is going going to cause more embarrassments…SEA and at PITT up next.

BUFF Tyrod Taylor- If you discount 2 flukey long TD passes in Week 2, Tyrod is averaging 125 passing yards a game- Still without WR Sammy Watkins, you can do better at QB in almost any format.

TENN Marcus Mariota- Mariota completed just 17/33 passes for 214 yards, no TDs, and two INTS in the Titans’ Week 3 loss to the Raiders. Panic Week 4.….but a VERY nice part of his schedule is coming up starting in Week 6… (CLEV-IND-JACK-SD )

PANIC RBs

SEA RB Thomas Rawls- Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said Thomas Rawls (fibula) will miss multiple weeks. Move on.

BALT RB J Forsett- In a tasty match up at Jacksonville, Forsett carried the ball only 7 times. There are just TOO many running backs getting touches in Baltimore, and I don’t care if one of them has a fluke monster week. I don’t want any of them.

JACK RB TJ Yeldon- RB Chris Ivory is back and ( although he didn’t do much with them) Ivory had 12 carries to Yeldon’s 6 carries in Week 3.

WASH Matt Jones- I warned fantasy football owners of Matt Jones all summer. I believe he is an outstanding RB out of the backfield, but not a good runner between the tackles. If he can’t “bring it” Week 4 at home vs Cleveland, you may need to make a tough roster decision going forward with him.

DET RB Theo Riddick – In 2015, Detroit had the worst average per run attempt of any NFL team. This is a “throw first” offense, and Riddick’s first week ( Week 1- 108 total yards and 2 TDs) may happen again….but I doubt it.

Others too good to panic about…but:

NO RB Mark Ingram- Runs very hard but the Saints are always playing from behind, and probably always will be in 2016. I’d trade him away if I could get a deal.

OAK Latavius Murray- The touchdowns are there, but the yardage IS NOT! ( 38 total yards in Week 3.) Oakland’s tough schedule and poor defense may never allow the Raiders to get a big lead and lean on Murray to carry the ball 20+ times in a game. (averaging only 10 carries a game)

PANIC WRs

GB WR Randall Cobb- Are you really surprised? It didn’t happen in 2015 when Jordy was out! Find a cheese-head who still loves Cobb and sell high.

CINN WR Tyler Boyd- Not the weapon yet, that we thought he’s be, and now TE Eifert is due back. He’ll have some good games, but unless you are in deep league, there must be better options for you.

TENN WR Rishard Matthews- Oakland has one of the worst passing defenses in the NFL, and Matthews managed only 3 lousy receptions. Move on if you can.

DET WR Golden Tate- The trouble is, QB Stafford is throwing to a lot of different weapons, and defenses are concentrating on taking Tate out of games. With only only 41 yards as his best game so far, you’ll have just get lucky when you start him.

Others too good to panic about…but:

DAL WR Dez Bryant- That QB Dak Prescott struggles to even want to look for Bryant. Fortunately Dallas’ schedule is worth waiting for Bryant to score a big game for us, if the ankle isn’t worst than expected.

PANIC TEs

DET TE Eric Ebron- Averaging 50 yards per game with only 1 TD. With so many weapons in Detroit, Ebron will be a boom-or-bust candidate every week. Note: that no tight end in the NFL is going crazy great so far, as only 5 TEs have 2 TD receptions each, and they aren’t the tight ends that you’d expect to have them.

DAL TE J Witten- Averaging 47 yards per game with 0 TDs. Like above, with so many weapons in Dallas, Witten will be a boom-or-bust candidate every week.

DEN TE Virgil Green- Not enough targets.

DON’T PANIC QBs

SEA QB Russell Wilson- HC Pete Carroll said Russell Wilson (knee) is doing “remarkably well,” and he expects him to practice Wednesday and play Week 4 against the Jets. Wilson’s slow start is due to injuries, but he has a Bye in Week 5 which will help tremendously. Stay patient.

CAR QB Cam Newton- Averaging less than 270 passing yards in 3 games, Cam has to be mentioned here. He has however, Atlanta, Tampa, and New Orleans up next….he WILL pad his stats in a big way the next 3 weeks.

DON’T PANIC RBs

HOU RB Lamar Miller- Miller just wasn’t going to have a big game in Week 3 traveling to New England. Week 4 is the big test to see if many of us drafted him too high, playing at home vs Tennessee.

GB RB Eddie Lacy- Slow start with zero TDs. On a bye, fantasy football owners will be sick of starting/ holding him. Buy low! Great schedule coming up!

DEN RB CJ Anderson- Big start in week 1, then an average Week 2, followed by a terrible Week 3. Like Lacy, Anderson’s schedule is so inviting, I want to find a fantasy football owner who has gotten discouraged and wants to trade him away.

DON’T PANIC WRs

KC WR Jeremy Maclin– Pittsburgh Week 4, followed by a Week 5 Bye. Scoop him up because after that starting in Week 6….OAK-NO-IND-JACK….!!!!

JACK WR Allen Hurns- Currently the #57 wide receiver in the NFL, and we did not draft him to be that. Takes on Indianapolis in Week 4, and he had better deliver.

SEA WR Tyler Lockett- QB Russell Wilson is getting healthy, so after the Seahawks Week 5 Bye, you can expect Lockett to get back on track.

DON’T PANIC TEs

TENN Delanie Walker- Walker was close to playing in Week 3, before being declared inactive. Titans coach Mike Mularkey expects Delanie Walker (hamstring) to resume practicing and start in Week 4. Too good to lose patience on.

WASH TE Jordan Reed- Fantasy football owners expected at least 2 TDs by Week 3, instead, they have ZERO. Fortunately the yards and targets are there. Stay patient.

Borderline:

CLEV TE Gary Barnidge- New life came for Barndige in Week 3 as the rookie QB targeted the talented tight end 6 times ( 5 catches for 66 yards) More will come, because the Browns will likely be playing from behind in most games.

Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 4

Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 4 by Utter-Fantasy Football Writer & Illustrator Doug Bowles

Another week of tough injuries for NFL teams and for fantasy football owners. CHI RB Jeremy Langford was carted off the field with a ankle injury and GB TE Jared Cook suffered an injury to his ankle as well in the Week 3 loss to the Cardinals. NYG RB RB Shane Vereen will miss the rest of the season. SEA QB Russell Wilson came into Week 3 with a banged up right ankle, and he suffered an additional sprained left knee. We’ll know more soon, but he’ll likely play again Week 4. NFL injuries are inevitable, and fantasy football owners must roll with the punches and use the waiver wire to survive losses to their rosters and to improve them.

First Bye Week is in Week 4: Green Bay & Philadelphia

Quarterbacks Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 4

DEN QB Trevor Siemian ( at Tampa Bay)- The new Denver quarterback is getting more comfortable every week, and has plenty of weapons. He completed 23/35 passes for 312 yards and 4 TDs in Week 3’s win over the Bengals. If you have PHIL QB Wentz or GB QB A Rodgers ( bye Week 4), this is a nice matchup.

DAL QB Dak Prescott ( at SF)- Prescott completed 19/24 passes for 248 yards and 2 touchdowns ( 1 pass/ 1 run) and the 49ers defense was exposed Week 3 by the Seahawks who had several injured players participating in this game. Only owned in 44% of Yahoo leagues.

NE Jimmy Garoppolo (vs BUFF)- Garroplo is “definitely making progress” and there is hope he can be ready for Week 4. More updates as the week progresses. ( QB Jacoby Brissett only suffered a sprained thumb but will not require surgery.)

Running Backs Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 4

SEA RB Christine Michael (at NYJ)- SEA HC Pete Carroll said RB Thomas Rawls (fibula) will miss multiple weeks. RB Christine Michael is officially the starter and a must own in all formats.

CHI RB Jordan Howard ( at DET)- RB Jeremy Langford was carted off the field Sunday night and spotted in a walking boot after the game. Howard is a must-add in all formats.

TB RB Charles Sims ( vs DEN)- A very impressive day for Sims, who ran 13 times for 55 yards and a TD, plus catching 6/8 targets for 69 yards in Tampa’s Week 3 loss to the Rams. RB Doug Martin Martin is week to week with a bad hammy.

DET RBs Theo Riddick/ Dwayne Washington- RB Ameer Abdullah (injured reserve) is done for the year with a torn ligament in his foot.

CAR Fozzy Whitaker/ Cameron Artis-Payne ( at ATL) – CAR RB Jonathon Stewart is expected to miss at least a couple games. C. Artis-Payne had 13 touches to Fozzy Whitaker’s 10 touches Week 3, although Whitaker did have a 50+ TD called back on a holding penalty. Nicer match up Week 4.

Wide Receiver Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 4

SD WR Tyrell Williams- An Utter-Fantasy Week 2 Waiver Wire recommendation- LINK– before RB Danny Woodhead’s injury. Williams is a big receiver…6’4″ and 205 lbs. William 6/9 targets for 69 yards in Week 3. Still Only owned in 63% of Yahoo leagues.

IND WR Philip Dorsett ( vs JACK in London)- WR Donte Moncrief is OUT, so WR Phillip Dorsett caught 3/4 targets for 27 yards in the Colts’ Week 3 win over the Chargers. His days will get better as he acclimates to being the clear #2 WR in INDY.

CLEV Terrelle Pryor (at WASH)- This guy did it all in Week 3…Terrelle Pryor caught 8/14 targets for 144 yards in Cleveland’s Week 3 loss to Miami and had a featured role with QB Josh McCown and WR Corey Coleman sidelined. He rotated snaps with QB Cody Kessler at quarterback, rushing for 21 yards on four carries and completing 3/5 passes for 35 yards.

NYG WR Sterling Shepard (at MINN)- More fantasy football points than OBJ- 3 weeks in a row. Owned in 90% of Yahoo leagues.

Other candidates-

deep league option-TB WR Adam Humphries ( vs DEN)- Targets…..Week 1/ 5…..Week 2/ 8…..Week 3/ 12. It looks like QB J Winston has a weapon he prefers over WR V Jackson.

DAL WR Cole Beasley/ Terrance Williams ( at SF)- PPR deep league must own

Tight Ends Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 4

NO TE Coby Fleener ( at SD)- Fleener caught 7/11 targets for 109 yards and 1 TD in Monday night game Week 3. QB D Brees was without WR W Snead and the Falcons shut down WR B Cooks, so Brees looked for Fleener. The connection should continue to grow. Nice match up Week 4 at San Diego.

CHI TE Zach Miller ( vs DET)- After totaling three catches for 35 yards on 12 combined targets Weeks 1 and 2, Miller caught 8/9 targets for 78 yards and 2 TDs in Week 3 against Dallas.

SEA TE Jimmy Graham ( at NYJ) – It took awhile, but Graham might actually be fantasy football relevant again! Graham caught 6/9 targets for 100 yards and a TD in Week 3. Owned in 73% of Yahoo leagues.

More Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 4 coming as the week progresses.

Week 3 Sleepers Fantasy Football

Week 3 Sleepers Fantasy Football by Utter-Fantasy Football Writer & Illustrator  Doug Bowles

You may be heading into Week 3 with some fantasy football injury concerns in your line ups, and regardless of the league, the waiver wire has been picked over. Fantasy Sleepers are late-round picks or waiver-wire selections who may exceed their statistical expectations. Each week Utter-Fantasy tries to find the sleepers which may be available for you, leading up to the NFL Week 3 regular season game. Here are a few player suggestions for especially for those in very deep leagues, or heading into Week 3 with injuries concerns (such as SEA Thomas Rawls, NO WR Willie Snead or recently released TE ASJ)

QB Week 3 Sleepers Fantasy Football

BALT QB Joe Flacco ( at JACK)- Only owned in 29% of Yahoo leagues. Flacco has a match up in Week 3 too tasty to ignore. The Jags are 30th vs the pass. I would start Flacco over Tannehill, Siemian, A Smith and Bradford, to name a few.

RB Week 3 Sleepers Fantasy Football

NYG S Vereen ( vs WASH)- RB Rashad Jennings (thumb) is listed as questionable for Week 3 against the Redskins. Although Vereen is not a 3 down back, he should be in there plenty with QB Eli  Manning. UPDATE: NYG RB Shane Vereen is expected to draw the start with Rashad Jennings (thumb) sidelined for Week 3 against the Redskins.

MIA Jay Ajayi/ K Drake ( vs CLEV)- I have not been big on Ajayi anytime in 2016, but we know RB Arian Foster (groin) has been ruled out for Week 3 versus Cleveland, so Ajayi should get lots of opportunities Week 3 at home vs Cleveland. This is his time to shine. A starting running back only owned in 38% of Yahoo leagues. UPDATE: NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports the Dolphins are “treating Kenyan Drake as the starter today” in the absence of Arian Foster (groin).

TB Charles Sims ( vs LAR)- The match up is terrible vs the LA Rams, but the workload will be huge. Only owned in 38% of Yahoo leagues.

IND R Turbin ( vs SD)- An option is very deep leagues, Robert Turbin rushed 3 times for 10 yards and a touchdown in Week 2.

WR Week 3 Sleepers Fantasy Football

NO Michael Thomas ( vs ATL)- Updating a previous item, Willie Snead (toe) was held out of Saints practice on Friday. The “toe” injury could conceivable indicate that Snead is dealing with a turf-toe sort of injury which is always a big problem. Thomas could finally see plenty of targets in Week 3 if Snead sits or plays sparingly.

NYJ Q Enunwa ( at KC)- Enunwa has been one of QB Ryan Fitzpatrick’s favorite targets all pteseason and into the regular season. WR Brandon Marshall (knee, foot) got in a limited practice Friday and is listed as questionable for Week 3 against the Chiefs.

TENN Tajae Sharpe ( vs OAK)- The Raiders defense is bad, but their offense is good. This is the situation in Week 3 that Sharper should be looking for to really excel and get his first NFL touchdown.

MIA Kenny Stills ( vs CLEV)- The Browns won’t be able to put up much of a fight in Week 3, so the Dolphins can pour it on until they get tired! WR J Landry is a PPR machine, but Stills has been who QB Tannehill has looked for in the endzone. Only owned in 9% of Yahoo leagues.

TE Week 3 Sleepers Fantasy Football

( TEs are the hardest position to try and predict.)

ATL J Tamme ( at NO)- 16 targets over the past 2 weeks. In what “should” be a shoot out, high scoring game… Tamme could serve fantasy football owners very nicely.

GB Jared Cook ( vs DET)- The Lions are currently “the worst NFL vs the Tight End position”. What an opportunity for QB A Rodgers to showcase the Packer’s new TE acquisition.

NO Coby Fleener ( vs ATL) – The Falcons are currently “the 2nd worst NFL vs the Tight End position”. If QB D Brees can’t find Fleener is Week 3, forget it! QB Drew Brees recently said Coby Fleener is “going to be an even bigger part of the offense” once the two find their chemistry.  (Find it already!)

SD Hunter Henry ( at IND) –Chargers TE Hunter Henry will start in Week 3.With Antonio Gates (doubtful, hamstring) sidelined and WR K Allen out, this is Henry’s opportunity.

I also like TE C Brate for the Tampa Bay Bucs.

Week 3 Fantasy Football DEF Sleepers

Miami Defense ( vs CLEV)- Cleveland, hit so hard with injuries, is sending out there 3rd round QB who isn’t close to being ready.

LA Rams Defense– Rams should try to capitalize on gun-shy QB J Winston’s horrific 4 INTs in Week 2, and he is without RB Doug Martin.

K Week 3 Sleepers Fantasy Football

CAR G Gano ( vs MINN)- The Panthers can move the ball, but the Vikings #2 defense might force them to kick a few field goals instead of getting touchdowns.

MIA A Franks ( vs CLEV)- The Miami offense should get plenty of opportunities.

Week 1 Fantasy Football Sleepers list

Start Em Sit Em Week 3 2016

Start Em Sit Em Week 3 2016 by Utter-Fantasy Writer & Illustrator Doug Bowles

Like other fantasy prognosticators, below are my Start Em Sit Em Week 3 2016 players, minus the obvious. ( No one needs to read that I think fantasy football owners should start QB Aaron Rodgers at home vs Detroit) For the Record- I don’t claim to have anymore insight on the games than the fantasy league owners reading these, but I do enjoy sharing my “IMOs” on them, as well as reading yours :) Good Luck this week!

NFL Start Em Sit Em Week 3 2016

Quarterbacks NFL Start Em Week 3 2016

SD Philip Rivers (at IND) – The Colts secondary is in tatters. Rivers will air it out all day Week 3.

ATL Matt Ryan ( at NO)- Your sister could throw 200+ yards against this Saints defense.

BALT Joe Flacco (at Jack ) – What was suppose to be an improved JACK DEF……isn’t. Pass Defense currently ranks 25th. -LINK-

TENN Marcus Mariota ( vs OAK)- Oakland’s pass defense is ranked last according to the Football Insiders. It’s bad!

I also like DAL Dak Prescott ( vs CHI)-

No Brainers….IND A Luck  (vs SD) even without Moncrief  , NO Drew Brees (vs ATL)

Start Em if you must…….MIA Ryan Tannehill ( vs CLEV)

Running backs NFL Start Em Week 3 2016

TENN DeMarco Murray (vs OAK) – Really like Murray at home this week.

LAR Todd Gurley (at TB) – Fantasy football owners have been waiting for weeks for Gurley to payoff for their 1st round selection….this is the match up to do it.

IND Frank Gore ( vs SD) – Gore showed why he still belongs in NFL starting line ups last week at Denver. Tasty match up Week 3.

NO Mark Ingram (vs ATL) – Another match up to good to pass up.

NYG Shane Vereen ( vs WASH)- NYG RB Shane Vereen is expected to draw the start with Rashad Jennings (thumb) sidelined for Week 3 against the Redskins.

other notable RB starts: ATL D Freeman/ Tevin Coleman (at NO) – Can both of these guys have good day, or will they steal too much from each other?

NO Brainer: DAL Zeke Elliott ( vs CHI)

I also like DET Theo Riddick ( at GB)-

Start Em if you must…….NE L Blount ( vs HOU)

Wide Receivers NFL Start Em Week 3 2016

SD Travis Benjamin. Tyrell Williams (at IND) – Playing a very bad INDY defense.

ARI Larry Fitz ( at BUFF ) – QB Carson Palmer’s go-to-guy in the redzone….and his on a roll…keep riding it.

IND TY Hilton/ P Dorsett ( vs SD)- Without WR D Moncrief ( out 4-6 weeks) these two should see a ton of targets.

JACK Allen Robinson/ Allen Hurns (vs BALT ) – Running is going to be almost impossible for the Jags, so expect QB B Bortles to throw Sunday 40-50 times.

BALT Mike Wallace ( at JACK)- QB Joe Flacco was OUT last year when WR Kamar Aiken was putting up big numbers near the end of the season. So far they don’t seem to have chemistry. Wallace and Flacco do.

No Brainers: NO B Cooks ( vs ATL)…PITT A Brown ( at PHIL)

I also like OAK Michael Crabtree ( at TENN)

WR Sleepers: ATL M Sanu ( at NO)….NE J Edleman (vs HOU)

Tight Ends NFL Start Em Week 3 2016

TENN Delanie Walker (at DET )- Walker’s 3/5 targets for 42 yards Week 1 against the Vikings won’t happen in Week 2. Detroit is the worst team right now vs the TE position.

PITT Jesse James ( at PHIL)- Not the best of match ups, but 7 targets in Week 1 and a TD reception in Week 2.

BALT D Pitta ( at JACK)- We will see if Week 2 was an abberation with a decent match up at Jacksonville.

DAL Jason Witten ( vs CHI)- A must win for Dallas on Primetime TV. QB Dak should lean on TE Witten and WR Bryant plenty, unless a solid running game proves all they need.

other notable TE starts: IND TEs Allen/ Jack Doyle- Should see even more targets without WR Moncrief.

No Brainers: TENN Delanie Walker ( vs OAK)…WASH J Reed ( at NYG)…CAR G Olson ( vs MINN)

Defenses NFL Start Em Week 3 2016

MIAMI (vs CLEV ) – The Browns will start third-round QB Cody “who” Kessler Week 3 against the Dolphins. I hope the Browns get some good news soon.

DALLAS (vs CHI) – How many times will the Dallas DEF pick off QB B Hoyer?

LAR (at TB) – TB QB J Winston has throw 5 INTS in just the two games this season.

No Brainer DEF starts: SEA vs SF….CAR vs MINN

Quarterbacks NFL  Sit Em Week 3 2016

BUFF Tyrod Taylor ( vs ARI )- I know he had two long TD throws in Week 2, but I would not start a QB based on two busted-coverage passes. Tough, tough match up.

KC Alex Smith (vs NYJ ) – Capt. Deacon Dunk will likely post in Week 3 what he posted in Week 2. Around 200 yards and 0 TDs. ( Even one TD won’t help much)

TB J Winston (vs LAR) – Winston looked REALLY bad in Week 2 throwing 4 INTS vs a tough Arizona defense. Tough defense this week as well.

Sit Em if you can…….A Dalton ( vs DEN)…HOU B Osweiler ( at NE)

No Brainers: Sit SF B Gabbert ( at SEA)

Running backs NFL Sit Em Week 3 2016

MINN  J McKinnon/ M Asiata (at CAR) – A nice waiver wire pick up but this isn’t the week to start him. ( or Asiata)

TB CH Sims/ Jacq Rodgers ( vs LAR) – More interesting waiver wire pick ups but as above….not the week to start either of them.

JACK TY Yeldon (vs BALT) – The Ravens are 4th best against the run and RB Chris Ivory is due back for a few carries.

Others I don’t like in Week 3- BUFF L McCoy ( vs ARI)…SEA T Rawls ( vs WASH)

Sit Em if you can…….RB J Hill ( vs DEN)…HOU L Miller ( at NE)….SEA T Rawls/ C Michael ( vs SF)

Wide Receivers NFL Sit Em Week 3 2016

SF ALL WRS (at SEA) – Low scoring game for the 49ers. A lot of RB C Hyde.

TENN Rishard Matthews ( vs OAK) – Currently the #86 wide out in the NFL with only 7 receptions on 10 measly targets.

CHI Alshon Jeffrey (at DAL ) – If I’m Dallas, the only player I am really worried about is Alshon Jeffrey, so I am going to shut him down.

BUFF Sammy Watkins ( vs ARI)- He says his foot is OK. It’s still not.

Sit Em if you can…….AJ Green ( vs DEN)

Tight Ends NFL Sit Em Week 3 2016

CHI Zach Miller (at DAL) – There is no one in Chicago I recommend in Week 3.

CLEV G Barnidge (at MIA)- Talented Barnidge couldn’t put any points w/ QB RG3 or QB McCown. Very doubtful he does with whoever Cleveland throws out there Week 3.

BUFF Charles Clay (vs ARI) – What have you done for me lately- Nothing!

KC T Kelce (vs NYJ)-  Always a tight end drafted too soon, only 34 receiving yards in Week 2- zero TDs in 2016.

SD A Gates ( at IND)- Gates is dealing with a hamstring injury, He may not even suit up.

Defenses NFL Sit Em Week 3 2016

ATL (at NO) – Should be high scoring game.

PHIL ( vs PITT)- The Steelers are playing so well, they can probably put up nice points on anyone,

TENN ( vs OAK )- I prefer a better match up.

No Brainer Sits: CLEV ( at MIA)

Good Luck Week Three!

START EM SIT EM WEEK 2 2016

Panic or Do Not Panic Week 2

Panic or Do Not Panic Week 2 by Utter-Fantasy Writer & Illustrator Doug Bowles

The original Utter-Fantasy weekly Panic/ Don’t Panic updates: Most fantasy football owners prepare for weeks, even months for their fantasy football drafts, and when it’s all over, they hope that their team is the best. After week one of the NFL season, some of us are rejoicing in our selections, while some of us are agonizing over them. Now it’s decision making time regarding the waiver wire, and who we have on our current rosters. I like to see a lot of opinions, and I hope mine help you make some of your tough decisions. That being said, it’s only Week 2, so I truly hope I’m re-tracking my “Panic’ players after Week 3. Until then….here’s my list of players to “Panic’ or “Do Not Panic” about…..

PANIC!

QBs

TB QB J Winston- Fantasy Football owners need to be concerned, very concerned about Winston’s schedule. Just like RB Jeremy Hill in Cincinnati, we thought we were getting a great player, and we did! Their brutal schedule however are killing us. The Bucs face the Rams in Week 3, then Denver, Carolina and then a bye! UGH!

NO QB Drew Bress- Don’t panic for 2 more weeks actually. ( Atlanta then San Diego) After that however, Brees has a bye in Week 5….followed by CAR…KC…SEA…SF…DEN…CAR….LAR….etc. After Week 4, I’d consider selling high.

RBs

BALT RB J Forsett- There are just TOO many running backs getting touches in Baltimore, and I don’t care if one of them has a fluke monster week. I don’t want any of them.

JACK RB TJ Yeldon- This ‘Bama RB I think will always be more Richardson than Lacy to me, and Ivory is coming back.

CHI RB Jeremy Langford- I hate QB Cutler being out but you could pick and choose the right games for Langford ( Week 5 IND, Week 6 JACK) and sit the others.

Others almost too good to panic about…but:

CINN RB Jeremy Hill – His schedule is BRUTAL.

BUFF RB Le McCoy- His schedule is BRUTAL.

ALT RB Devonta Freeman-  Tevin Coleman is simply stealing too much. I can not see Freeman coming even close to his 2015 stats as the #1 RB. Even after only two weeks, if another fantasy football owner still has a man-crush for Freeman, and package him with say….RB Gore and wide out I could use…I’d probably jump on it.

WRs

CHI WR Alshon Jeffrey/ Kevin White- How can you not be panicking…QB J Cutler out 2-3 weeks with a hand injury, which mean QB B Hoyer, and a sieve for an O line.

WASH WRS- Believe it or not, I still think QB Kirk Cousins is a decent quarterback, but with De Jackson, P Garcon, Doctson, Grant, Reed, V Davis, and receiving RBs.….how can you start a WASH wide out and sit someone else?

DEN  WR Emmanuel Sanders- A dream match up in Week 2 and Sanders managed only 3 catches for 39 yards. If you can stand to Panic one more week ( tough one at Cincinnati Week 3) …he does have more dream match ups coming, but will there ever be chemistry between Sanders and new QB Siemian???

TENN WR Rishard Matthews- 7 players had receptions in Week 1 for the Titans, 8 players had receptions in Week 2 for the Titans, and Rishard was not a top target for the team in either week. Too boom or bust for me to start over someone else. Currently #86 WR in the NFL.

NO WR Michael Thomas- The heralded rookie will take a back seat to WRs Cooks and Snead all year.

TB WR Vincent Jackson- He was barely an option a year ago ( #65 Wr for 2015…only 3 TDs). He hasn’t gotten younger, he’s gotten even older.

Others almost too good to panic about…but:

GB Randall Cobb- Currently the #60 wide out in the NFL….with zero touchdowns AND James Jones out-scored Cobb in 2015. I’d sell high.

TEs

CLEV TE Gary Barnidge- As much as I hated to do it, I waivered away Barnidge from every team Week 2, for PITT Jesse James, or BALT Pitta. Barnidge is a great athlete, but after two weeks of nothing, I do not see light at the end of this Brown tunnel. ( I apologize for the visual.)

NO Coby Fleener-  I am asked a ton about this guy, and maybe the Colts knew something when they let one of Luck’s good  friends leave…who knows…but I prefer PITT Jesse James and others. Utter-Fantasy Waiver Wire Link

DON’T PANIC!

QBs

GB QB Aaron Rodgers- This is a no-brainer even after his – 213 yards and only 1 TD performance in Week 2, but it does help support my yearly theory of not drafting a QB too early, unless in VERY large leagues.

IND Andrew Luck- Week 2 was bad, but it was expected vs Denver. San Diego is up next, then Jacksonville, then Chicago…….yummy!

DET Matthew Stafford- 260 yards and 1 TD isn’t great ( esp. compared to a lot of other QBs Week 20 AND playing Green Bay Week 3, but Chicago next followed by 3 straight home games. Don’t Panic, I understand if you also don’t feel great about him right now.

RBs

ARI RB David Johnson- It is very possible…we all expected too much from an RB who only had 125 carries in 2015. Rough schedule!!!

HOU RB Lamar Miller- Miller has yet to hit the endzone, and he probably won’t again in Week 3. Houston has a tough schedule in the 1st half, but be patient because Miller’s 2nd half will pay off big time, if he stays healthy.

DAL RB Zeke Elliott- Slow start and I too am hearing the “conditioning issues”… BUT…still the best O-Line in the NFL and remember that this team made a star out of Darren McFadden, who’s 1st big game didn’t come until Week 7

LAR RB Todd Gurley- Here’s the stats you have been waiting for I think….Rams at the Bucs Week 3. ( in the Panic section next week if he doesn’t)

WRs

TY Hilton– Plenty to panic about for the first 2 weeks, but his schedule is mouth-watering for a good stretch AND TD stealer WR D Moncrief is OUT for 4-6 weeks.

JACK Allen Hurns- Be Patient….. JACK WR Allen Hurns 2015 Week 1- 5/60/0 TD…Week 2 4/68/0 TD………………….2016 Week 1- 4/75/0 TD…Week 2 5/64/0 TD

ARI WR Michael Floyd- Gotta love WR Larry Fitz always, but it’s a LONG season and Fitz will wear down before Floyd does. Stay patient.

TEs

DAL TE Jason Witten- I am confident that QB Dak Prescott will learn to lean on Witten ( and WR Dez Bryant) as Romo did, rather than WR Cole Beasley.

WASH TE J Reed- Always hard for any player to follow up a monster season with another monster, but some do. Big games coming for Reed I believe in Weeks 3, 4 and 5.

Others almost too good to panic about…but:

KC TE T Kelce- This guy is taken early every season, and he still plays for the conservative, predictable, run first Chiefs……who has QB Alex ” Deacon Dunk’ as their QB.

Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 3

Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 3 by Utter-Fantasy Football Writer & Illustrator Doug Bowles

Another week of tough injuries for NFL teams and for fantasy football owners. SD RB Danny Woodhead was carted off the field with a knee injury and TB RB Doug Martin left and never returned. Bad news out of New England, where QB Jimmy Garropolo was injured after a hot start to the games, and he might be available for Week 4. NFL injuries are inevitable, and fantasy football owners must roll with the punches and use the waiver wire to survive losses to their rosters and to improve them.

First Bye Week is in Week 4: GB-PHIL

Quarterbacks Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 3

Deep leagues…HOU QB Brock Osweiler- The new Houston quarterback is getting more comfortable every week, and has plenty of weapons. He completed 22-of-35 passes for 231 yards and two touchdowns in Week 1. In Week 2, Osweiler 19-of-33 passes for 268 yards & one touchdown ( 2 INTS). Tough game Week 3 at New England however.

Deep leagues…LAR QB Case Keenum- I’m not sure what situation you’d be in to have to start QB Keenum…BUT…..it was a laugher Week 2 for Arizona taking on Tampa Bay ( 7-40 ) and the Bucs are hosting the Rams Week 3.

Deep leaguesCHI QB Brian Hoyer– CHI QB Jay Cutler left week 2 with a hand injury. More info on Tues/ Wed.

Deep leaguesNE QB Jacoby Brissett– completed 6-of-9 passes for 92 yards in the Patriots’ Week 2 win over the Dolphins. At home Week 3 vs Houston.

Running Backs Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 3

MINN RB Jerick McKinnon/ Matt Asiata- McKinnon got all of his snaps after Adrian Peterson left with a knee injury. McKinnon is the favorite to start if Peterson is out. Owned in 23 percent of Yahoo leagues. RB Matt Asiata will rotate in some, and likely get goal line carries. UPDATE: Peterson has a torn meniscus and is out indefinitely.

CAR Fozzy Whitaker/ Cameron Artis-Payne- CAR HC Panthers coach Ron Rivera said RB Jonathan Stewart (hamstring) will miss “at least a week or two.” Fozzy Whittaker put up 100 yards Sunday with Stewart sidelined and should get upcoming goal line carries

NYG RB Shane Vereen ( vs WASH)- NYG RB Shane Vereen is expected to draw the start with Rashad Jennings (thumb) sidelined for Week 3 against the Redskins.

TB RB Charles Sims- RB Doug Martin said he suffered a tweaked hamstring in the Week 2 loss to the Cardinals. Hammy’s do not heal quickly. RB Sims will be an RB2 for Week 3 against the Rams if Martin is inactive. Tough match ups however Weeks 3 & 4 ( LA Rams and Denver)

DET RBs Theo Riddick/ Dwayne Washington- X-Rays on DET RB Ameer Abdullah’s injured foot came back negative, but he’ll likely miss some times, perhaps two games.

CLEV RB Isaiah Crowell- Many fantasy football owners drafted RB Duke Johnson before Crowell, which may have been a mistake. Duke is better in the passing game, where Crowell is a better pounder and likely to get more goal line carries. Only owned in 62% of Yahoo leagues. Crowell rushed for 133 yards and 1 TD on 18 carries Wee k2. ( one carry went for 85 yards- TD!)

ATL RB Tevin Coleman- Coleman rushed 12 times for 46 yards and a touchdown and caught two passes for 25 yards in the Falcons’ Week 2- still only owned in 56% of Yahoo leagues.

SEA RB Christine Michael- In Week 2, Michael rushed 10 times for 60 yards in the Seahawks’ loss to the Rams. He caught 3/4 targets for 26 yards. RB Thomas Rawls suffered a leg bruise in the Week 2. Only owned in 59% of Yahoo leagues.

SD RB Farrow- The Chargers lost a playmaker for the second straight week. Running back Danny Woodhead was helped off the field in the first quarter and taken to the locker room on a cart. Farrow had 4 carries for 13 yards in Week 2.

Wide Receiver Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 3

SD WR Tyrell Williams- An Utter-Fantasy Week 2 Waiver Wire recommendation- LINK– before RB Danny Woodhead’s injury. Someone has to step up for the Chargers with WR Allen out, and Williams is a big receiver…6’4″ and 205 lbs. William caught 3/6 targets for 61 yards and 1 TD in Week 2.

IND WR Philip Dorsett- WR Donte Moncrief will have an MRI on his shoulder Monday and coud be forced to miss any time. Dorsett would become a must own. After a rough start, the Colts now face San Diego at home, at Jacksonville, then home vs Chicago….nice! UPDATE: Coach Chuck Pagano announced Donte Moncrief will miss 4-6 weeks with a fractured scapula.

NYJ WR Quincy Enunwa- This guy has been impressive in the preseason and in both regular season games. QB Ryan Fitz loves throwing to him. Enunwa caught 6/6 targets for 92 yards in the Jets’ Week 2 win over the Bills. ( Note: Brandon Marshall (knee) was banged up in Week 2 and not seen at the start of practice on Monday.)

MINN WR Stefon Diggs- Finally, Diggs is helping fantasy football owners as expected a year ago. Clearly, new QB Bradford’s favorite weapon so far. Owned 85 % in Yahoo leagues.

NYG WR Sterling Shepard- I’ve been beating the drum on this guy since the preseason. Shepard caught all 8 of his targets for 117 yards Sunday in the Giants’ Week 2. PPR must own.

SEA WR Jermaine Kearse- Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said Tyler Lockett suffered a sprained knee Week 2. If Lockett misses time, Kearse’s targets double. Kearse caught 2-of-6 targets for 11 yards in the Seahawks’ Week 2 loss to the Rams. SF up for the Seahawks Week 3.

LAR Kenny Britt– It sometimes a few games to see which wide receiver a quarterback is going to lean on. Granted, coverage from Seattle Week 2 may have dictated this, but Kenny Britt saw a team-high 10 targets to post a 6-94 line. Only owned in 3% of yahoo leagues.

Deep leagues…..CHI Eddie Royal- Utter-Fantasy Sleeper Week 2- LINK- especially good pick up if return yards count in your league. ( 65 yd TD return Week 2)

Other good candidates-

CLEV WR Corey Coleman- Only owned in 69% of Yahoo leagues. ( Who will throw to him however?)

DAL WR Cole Beasley- PPR deep league must own

Tight Ends Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 3

SF TE Vance McDonald- An Utter-Fantasy “Start Em” who found the endzone in Week 1 and in Week 2. ( a great 75 reception that he took to the house for a TD) QB B Gabbert relies on McDonald a lot, so perhaps fantasy football owners can as well.

BALT TE Dennis Pitta- QB Joe Flacco has always relied on his tight ends as offensive weapons. Pitta finally saw extensive action Week 2, catching 9/12 targets for 102 yards in the Ravens’ Week 2 win over the Browns.

PITT TE Jesse James- Jesse James caught 3/5 targets for 29 yards and a touchdown Week 2. Only owned in 25% of Yahoo leagues, fantasy football owners are not paying attention to this guy.

ATL TE Austin Hooper- Maybe it’s finally starting to happen between QB Matt Ryan and TE Austin Hooper. 3 catches for 84 yards.

Deep Deep league JACK TE Marcedes Lewis- An Utter-Fantasy Week 2 Waiver Wire recommendation- LINK– and another TD Week 2.

More Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 3 coming as the week progresses.

Week 2 Fantasy Football Sleepers 2016

Week 2 Fantasy Football Sleepers 2016 by Utter-Fantasy Football Writer & Illustrator  Doug Bowles

Fantasy Sleepers are late-round picks or waiver-wire selections who may exceed their statistical expectations. Each week Utter-Fantasy tries to find the sleepers which may be available for you, which we include in our weekly “Waiver Wire” reports, but for the time leading up to the NFL Week 2 regular season game, here are a few player suggestions for especially for those in deep leagues, or heading into Week 2 with injuries concerns (such as PHIL TE Zach Ertz, JACK RB Chris Ivory or IND DEF without three starting DBs Week 2-CB Patrick Robinson OUT)

Week 2 Fantasy Football QB Sleeper

DEN QB Trevor Siemian- completed 18/26 passes for 178 yards, one touchdown in Week 1, but faces a really beat up Colts defense..without 3 starting DBs in Week 2. If you had MINN QB Teddy Bridgewater or RG3 ( or have Cutler)…Siemian might not be a bad replacement Week 2.

Week 2 Fantasy Football RB Sleepers

KC RB Spencer Ware- RB Jamaal Charles is said to be close to 100% healthy- HE’S NOT.

DET Theo Riddick- A Utter-Fantasy sleeper Week 1 ( 108 total yards and 2 TDs). keep riding the Riddick Train.

ATL RB Tevin Coleman- HC Quinn is RBBC, whether it’s working or not for Falcon wins – ( It’s not). Tevin Coleman rushed 8 times for 22 yards and caught 5/6 targets for 95 yards in the Week 1.

JACK TJ Yeldon- This Alabama Crimson Tide RB is more Richardson than Lacy in my opinion, but he’ll get plenty of opportunities in Week 2 with RB Chris Ivory still shelved.

Week 2 Fantasy Football WR Sleepers

NYG Stering Shepard ( vs NO)- This match up is too good to ignore.

NE WR Chris Hogan- 4/5 targets for 60 yards and a touchdown in Week 1, and he’s only getting more comfortable with this offense. Amendola has dropped in the receiving corps pecking order. When Brady comes back, watch out. ( UPDATE: Chris Hogan (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Week 2- practice participation was downgraded to “limited” on Friday….but this Belichick remember where everyone is “questionable” )

SD WR Travis Benjamin/ Tyrell Williams- The Chargers are without WR Keenan Allen for the rest of the season so Benjamin and Williams really need to step up. PPR must owns.

PITT WR Eli Rogers- Utter-Fantasy sleeper in Week 1, Rogers finished with 6/7 targets for 59 yards and a TD. Wheaton has never lived up to any of QB Roethlisberger’s expectations.

CAR WR Ted Ginn Jr- The preseason proved that this guy is still a big part of this offense ( #24 WR in 2015). I’d start Ginn over Funchess.

CHI WR Eddie Royal- QB Cutler ‘s man from back in the Denver days. 4/6 targets for 57 yards and a TD in Week 1.

Week 2 Fantasy Football TE Sleepers

( TEs are the hardest position to try and predict!)

DEN TE Virgil Green- WR Demaryius Thomas is less than 100% and the Colts are without three of their starting corners. Green helped Siemian in the preseason, and was targeted 5 times in Week 1.

IND TE Jack Doyle- After 2 Week 1 TDs, you knew you’d see Doyle’s name here. QB A Luck is used to having 2 TEs as weapons. Doubtful that he ever has many yards to go with his TDs, but definitely a red zone target.

PITT TE Jesse James- Pretty surprising to see that he is only owned in 23% of Yahoo Leagues. Cincinnati may force Big Ben to throw quick, which means targets for James.

I also like PHIL TE Brent Celek with Ertz OUT.

TE C Brate for the Tampa Bay Bucs.

Week 2 Fantasy Football DEF Sleepers

Philadelphia Defense– The Eagles go against mistake-prone CHI QB Jay Cutler

Jacksonville Defense– This is a great opportunity to show everyone that their defense had improved….as QB P Rivers HATES being without WR Kennan Allen, and forced the ball/ fell apart after Allen’s injury in 2015- with the lead in 2nd half of Week 1.

Week 1 Fantasy Football Sleepers list

Start Em Sit Em Week 2 2016

Start Em Sit Em Week 2 2016 by Utter-Fantasy Writer & Illustrator Doug Bowles

Like other fantasy prognosticators, below are my Start ‘ Em & Sit ‘ Em players, minus the obvious. ( No one needs to read that I think fantasy football owners should start QB Cam Newton this week at home vs San Francisco ) For the Record- I don’t claim to have anymore insight on the games than the fantasy league owners reading these, but I do enjoy sharing my “IMOs” on them, as well as reading yours :) Good Luck this week!

NFL Start Em Sit Em Week 2 2016

Quarter Backs
Start ‘Em

NYG Eli Manning (vs N.O.) – QB start of the week. Manning has lots of weapons, and plays at home vs one of the worst defenses ( still) in the NFL.

DET Matt Stafford (vs TENN) – Now that QB Stafford doesn’t feel compelled to feed Megatron, he is passing it around plenty.

BALT Joe Flacco (at CLEV ) – It’s all about the match up, and this one is a tasty one for the Ravens. Flacco needs to get WR K Aiken involved, and go to his healthy tight ends.

SD Philip Rivers (vs JACK ) – QB Rivers is going to miss WR Keenan Allen over the course of the season, but not in this game.

other notable QB starts: NE J Garropolo ( vs MIA), HOU B Osweiler (vs KC)

No Brainers….OAK D Carr (vs ATL), ARI C Palmer (vs TB)

Running Backs
Start ‘Em

DEN CJ Anderson (vs IND) – Anderson proved he’s the man for HC Kubiak and the Colts defense is bad.

SD Danny Woodhead (vs JACK) – Fantasy football owners of Woodhead should be licking their chops at this match up.

PITT DeAngelo Williams ( vs CINN) – Not as tasty a match up as in Week 1, but he should find the endzone at least once, and yardage to go with it.

KC Spence Ware (at HOU) – Ware won’t match what he did in Week 1, but he’ll will get lots of touches, rushing and receiving and the goal line attempts.

DET Theo Riddick (vs TENN) – A PPR machine who found the endzone twice in Week 1. QB Stafford trusts Riddick plenty.

other notable RB starts: NE L Blount ( vs MIA), TENN D Murray ( at DET), MINN AP (vs GB), NYJ M Forte (at BUFF)

NO Brainer: ARI David Johnson (vs TB), AP ( vs GB)…you have to start him!)

Wide Receivers
Start ‘Em

OAK A Cooper/ M Crabtree (vs ATL) – The Saints lit up the hideous Falcon defense, and so will the Raiders.

JACK Allen Robinson/ Allen Hurns (at SD ) –Neither of these two receivers had a TD in Week 1, but I would be shocked if both don’t have at least one each in Week 2.

ARI Larry Fitz ( vs TB ) – QB Carson Palmer’s go-to-guy in the redzone….and this match up has them both drooling.

HOU De Hopkins/ Will Fuller (vs KC ) – This is going to be a great game to watch, with QB Osweiler airing it out often.

ATL M Sanu ( at OAK)- The Raiders will put up lots of points in this one, so QB M Ryan will have to throw it 30-40 times. Sanu had an impressive TD reception in Week 1.

No Brainers: CINN AJ Green ( at PITT)- The Steeler defense may give you second thoughts about starting Green, but Pittsburgh’s secondary can be burned.  NYG OBJ ( vs NO)

I like….A rebound week for WR Emmanuel Sanders ( vs IND)- WR Demaryius Thomas is less than 100% and the Colts are without three of their starting corners.

WR Sleepers: NYG Stering Shepard ( vs NO), TENN Tajae Sharpe ( at DET), PITT Eli Rogers

Tight Ends
Start ‘Em

TENN Delanie Walker (at DET )- Walker’s 3/5 targets for 42 yards Week 1 against the Vikings won’t happen in Week 2. Detroit is the worst team right now vs the TE position.

DEN Virgil Green ( vs IND)- At home, WR Demaryius Thomas is hurting, and the best safety blanket for a new QB is a talented tight end like Green. Indy is 5th worst defending TEs.

JACK Julius Thomas ( vs SD )- The Chargers are 6th worst defending TEs, and Thomas found the endzone in Week 1.

IND TEs Allen/ Jack Doyle- The INDY WRs are “Sits” for me this week, so if QB Luck has any chance, I think it is with his TEs.

other notable TE starts: PITT Jesse James ( vs CINN). NYG L Donnell ( vs NO)

Defense
Start ‘Em

BALT (at CLEV ) – QB J McCown’s first start since QB RGIII is out. The Ravens are #3 vs the run, #3 vs the pass in 2016.

NE (vs MIA) – The Pats gave the Cardinals all they could handle in Week 1, now they are home.

PHIL (at CHI) – The Eagles are currently the #4 defense, and the Bears are not very good.

No Brainer DEF starts: DEN vs IND

Quarter Backs
Sit ‘Em

BUFF Tyrod Taylor ( vs NYJ )- I probably wouldn’t recommend starting Taylor even if  WR Sammy Watkins were healthy ( which he isn’t)

SF Blaine Gabbert (at CAR) – The Panthers are fighting mad after what happened last post-season, and in Week 1. They will take it out on Gabbert Week 2.

MIA Ryan Tannehill (at NE) – Another “Sit’ week for Tannehill, and most of the weapons in Miami.

CHI Jay Cutler (vs PHIL) – Jay Cutler was the #22 quarterback in Week 1, with only 216 yards passing. Another tough week for him.

WASH Kirk Cousins ( vs DAL)- I am not starting him until he proves he’s better than that hideous performance in Week 1.

No Brainers: CLEV Josh McCown (vs BALT)- McCown may surprise this week, but you have better options to start.

Running Backs
Sit ‘Em

IND F Gore (at DEN) – RB “Sit” of the Week. The Colts simply don’t give this guy enough opportunities, and it’s DENVER!

WASH Matt Jones ( vs DAL) – A better receiving RB than a rushing RB, but unfortunately, QB Kirk Cousins won’t look for him out if the backfield. Very frustrating.

MIA A Foster (at NE) – RB Arian Foster is likely the one guy the HC Belichick is worried about breaking one, so he will game plan against him.

Others I don’t like in Week 2- BUFF L McCoy ( vs NYJ),

ATL D Freeman ( at OAK)- Atlanta HC Quinn likely won’t have a job very long. Lost at home vs TB for crying out loud…..lost with a RBBC…and announced..”still doing it.”

Wide Receivers
Sit ‘Em

SF ALL WRS (at CAR) – Low scoring game for the 49ers. A lot of RB C Hyde.

MIA Kenny Stills ( at NE) – WR Jarvis Landry will likely help PPR owners, but Stills needs a TD to help fantasy football owners, and that’s probably not coming in Week 2.

MINN St Diggs (vs GB ) – 103 yards in Week 1, but this Packer defense is pretty good, and we don’t know who the Vikings quarterback is yet, but not sure it matters. ( IF QB Shaun Hill starts again, then maybe)

WR Tavon Austin (vs SEA) – ONLY 13 yards receiving in Week 1, and with SEA QB Russell Wilson less than 100%, the Seahawks defense will be asked to do a lot.

BUFF Sammy Watkins ( vs NYJ)- He says his foot is OK. ( I doubt it)

Others I don’t like in Week 2- IND WRs, CLEV WRs

Tight Ends
Sit ‘Em

ATL Jacob Tamme (at OAK) – QB Matt Ryan hasn’t looked at TEs way since Tony Gonzalez. The Raiders are currently 2nd best vs the TE.

TB Austin Seferian-Jenkins (vs ARI)- He found the endzone in Week 1, but tough seeing him do it at Arizona. ( 6th best team vs the TE.)

BUFF Charles Clay (at NYJ) – What have you done for me lately- Nothing! ( and he’s hurt.)

SEA TE Jimmy Graham-  One catch for 11 yards in Week 1

Defense
Sit ‘Em

MIA (at NE) – The Dolphins won’t slow down the Pats in Week 2, even with QB J Garropolo in only his 2nd game.

NYG ( vs NO)- The Giants will likely win this game, but they will give up plenty of yardage to the Saints.

MINN ( vs GB )- I prefer a better match up.

No Brainers: SF ( at CAR)

Good Luck Week Two!

Panic or Do Not Panic Week 1

Panic or Do Not Panic Week 1 by Utter-Fantasy Writer & Illustrator Doug Bowles

Most fantasy football owners prepare for weeks, even months for their fantasy football drafts, and when it’s all over, they hope that their team is the best. After week one of the NFL season, some of us are rejoicing in our selections, while some of us are agonizing over them. Now it’s decision making time regarding the waiver wire, and who we have on our current rosters. I like to see a lot of opinions, and I hope mine help you make some of your tough decisions. That being said, it’s only Week 1, so I truly hope I’m re-tracking my “Panic’ players by Week 3. Until then….here’s my list of players to “Panic’ or “Do Not Panic” about…..

PANIC!

QBs

BUFF QB Tyrod Taylor- Never been a fan, and with WR Sammy Watkins ailing, I can’t see him worth starting over many other QBs.

CHI QB Jay Cutler- Even “if” this guy has a big game passing, his “weekly” INTs and fumbles will end up hurting his stats.

MIA QB Ryan Tannehill- One of the most over-rated QBs in the NFL. Game after game, there are guys wide open, whether it be a wide receiver streaking long, a the TE over the middle, or a running back swinging out from the backfield…..Tannehill doesn’t see them.

BALT Joe Flacco- Gritty quarterback, but WR Steve Smith is a shell of himself, TE Ben Watson was lost for the season, and TE Maxx Williams has been a bust.

RBs

TENN RB Derrick Henry- RB D Murray made the case Week 1 for no RBBC. Henry will get some carries, and some receptions, but probably only has real good value going forward if Murray gets hurt.

ND RB Frank Gore- Three things bother me about owning Gore. 1) Luck likes to throw too much…i.e. there is no ground game established. 2) QB Luck rarely throws to Gore, who is actually a good receiving back. 3) Either Luck likes be the hero and always throw the TD pass in the redzone, or he likes to run it in. ( Faces Denver Week 2…ugh )

CLEV RB Duke Johnson- Too many fantasy football owners drafted RB Johnson “before’ RB Isaiah Crowell. Duke is more suited as a 3rd down receiving back, and that’s not what most fantasy football owners drafted him for.

Others almost too good to panic about…but:

ALT RB Devonta Freeman- Damn HC Quinn and his RBBC with T Coleman. ( how did that formula work in the first home game Quinn???)

CINN RB Jeremy Hill – His schedule is BRUTAL.

WRs

MIA WR Jarvis Landry- Likely drafted too high by fantasy football owners because he rarely gets an touchdowns ( only 4 in 2015). Nice PPR machine however.

CLEV WR Corey Coleman- Bad situation to begin with, and now with QB Robert Griffin out, not looking good. 2 receptions in Week 1.

NO WR Michael Thomas- The heralded rookie will take a back seat to WRs Cooks and Snead ( and eventually TE Fleener) all year.

BUFF WR Sammy Watkins- He says his foot is “fine after all”…….don’t believe it.

TB WR Vincent Jackson- He was barely an option a year ago ( #65 Wr for 2015…only 3 TDs). He hasn’t gotten younger, he’s gotten even older.

NE  WR Danny Amendola- He’s now way down the on the receiving pecking order for the Pats.

Others almost too good to panic about…but:

DAL WR Dez Bryant- Here’s what’s really troubling…last year when QB Romo went down, QBs B Weeden and QB K Moore would not target Bryant, and they preferred WRs Williams/Beasley and TE Witten. This year when QB Romo went down, QB Dak Prescott is targeting WRs Williams/Beasley and TE Witten.

DEN WRs Dem Thomas/ Emmanuel Sanders- This is a run first, run 2nd, run 3rd offense and QB Siemian does not have a cannon for an arm ( When asked if he thinks he’ll play Week 2, WQR D Thomas (hip) said, “I don’t know. Taking it day by day.”)

TEs

SEA TE Jimmy Graham- Never 100% and has zero chemisrty with QB R Wilson since getting to Seattle. What’s changed?

CHI TE Zach Miller- Can you really wait around for this guy to finally catch on in Chicago, while there are viable TEs options for you on the Waiver Wire? ( 3 catches- 14 yards in Week 1 ) Utter-Fantasy Waiver Wire Link

PHIL Z Ertz- It’s never good news when the team announces that Zach Ertz (ribs) could miss an “extended period.”

DON’T PANIC!

QBs

JACK Blake Bortles- The #3 QB for 2015 only threw 1 TD pass vs Green Bay, and ended Week 1 as the #16 quarterback. Don’t Panic…SD, BALT and IND are next up.

OAK Derek Carr- Carr only threw one TD in week 1, but he averaged 2 a game in 2016.

RBs

MINN  RB Adrian Peterson- Not sure what to make of his 31 yard performance in Week 1, but rest assured…it bothered no one more so, than AP. Don’t Panic, even with QB Bridgewater out.

DAL RB Zeke Elliott- ( only 51 yards and 1 TD Week 1) Best O-Line in the NFL. The rookie put up huge numbers…soon.

TB RB Doug Martin- 2015, he was in contract year so one has to wonder how motivated Martin is in 2016. Last year’s #3 RB  was 11/ 53 yards in Week 1 of 2015….so he’s done this before, and it turned out just fine.

GB RB Eddie Lacy- Did not find the endzone in Week 1, but he will.

LAR Todd Gurley- Don’t let Week 1 worry you

WRs

JACK Allen Robinson/ Allen Hurns– Zero TDs between the 2….doubt it happens very often…if again this year.

NYJ Brandon Marshall- Only 3/8 targets for 32 yards and 0 TDs in the Jets’ Week 1 loss to Cincinnati. If this scared any fantasy football owner into wanting to trade him “away”….jump on it!

DET WR Golden Tate- Tate got 7 targets, while Marvin Jones got 10, but Stafford does that… he will have a different favorite target every game. Don’t panic on Tate because RB Theo won’t have 2 TDs often, and Ebron won’t get a TD reception often.

ARI WR Michael Floyd- 7 targets in Week 1 ( to WR L Fitz’s 10) but Floyd is a big. fast target and I think he produces the most when 2016 is over.

SEA WR Tyler Lockett- With QB Russell Wilson getting injured, Week 1 cannot be a gauge for the rest of the season. Don’t panic!

IND WR TY Hilton- Faced Detroit Week 1, and faces Denver in Week 2, but then…..San Diego, Jacksonville, Chicago, Houston and Tennessee. ( WR Moncrief is the threat to steal TD receptions)

TEs

TENN Delanie Walker- (3 catches for only 42 yards) The titans played Minnesota Week 1, who are one of the best NFL team’s defending the TE position. Tennessee battles Detroit Week 2, one of the worst NFL team’s defending the TE position.

SD TE Antonio Gates- With WR Keenan Allen going down for the season, Gates will be asked to do a lot more.

PITT TE Jesse James- Only 31 yards in Week 1, but he was targeted in the endzone. QB Roethlis berger likes him ( a lot more than he does WR Sammie Coates) and the chemistry is building.

Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 2

Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 2 by Utter-Fantasy Writer & Illustrator Doug Bowles

Keenan Allen suffered a torn right ACL Sunday in Week 1 against the Chiefs. It is a tough blow for the Chargers and for fantasy football owners of Allen. Bad news out of Buffalo, where WR Sammy Watkins (foot) “could be shut down for several weeks” because of “severe discomfort” in his surgically-repaired foot. NFL injuries are inevitable, and fantasy football owners must roll with the punches and use the waiver wire to survive losses to their rosters and to improve them.

First Bye Week is in Week 4: GB-PHIL

Quarterbacks Waiver Wire Week 2

NE Jimmy Garropolo- If you got BUFF QB Tyrod Taylor in any of your drafts, his 15-of-22 passes for 111 yards and 0 touchdowns in Week 1 likely gave you reason to regret that pick. It’s also looking like Taylor has lost his main weapon in WR Sammy Watkins. Garroplo on the other hand produced 264 passing yards and one touchdown on 24-of-33 passing while contributing four rushes for 12 yards in the Patriots’ Week 1 win over the Cardinals. He has 3 more starts.

HOU Brock Osweiler- The new Houston quarterback is getting more comfortable every week, and has plenty of weapons. He completed 22-of-35 passes for 231 yards and two touchdowns in Week 1.

Deep leagues….CLEV QB Josh McCown- Horrible news for the Browns…placing QB Robert Griffin III on injured reserve with a broken bone in his non-throwing shoulder.

Running Backs Waiver Wire Week 2

KC RB Spencer Ware- Utter-Fantasy’s #1 sleeper for Week 1, and Ware produced in a big way. RB J Charles still is not close to starting.

DET RB Theo Riddick- Another succesful sleeper pick  Utter-Fantasy in Week 1. Theo Riddick rushed seven times for 45 yards and a touchdown and caught 5-of-5 targets for 63 yards and another touchdown in the Lions’ Week 1 win over the Colts.

TB RB Charle Sims- The very quiet #21 RB for 2015, with over 1000 total yards and 4 TDs. Charles Sims rushed four times for nine yards, but caught 3-of-3 targets for 32 yards and a touchdown in the Bucs’ Week 1 win over Atlanta.

SD RB Danny Woodhead- With WR Keeenan Allen out, Woodhead should see even more action- Only owned in 78% of Yahoo leagues.

CLEV RB Isaiah Crowell- Many fantasy football owners drafted RB Duke Johnson before Crowell, which may have been a mistake. Duke is better in the passing game, where Crowell is a better pounder and likely to get more goal line carries. Only owned in 59% of Yahoo leagues.

ATL Tevin Coleman- Unfortunately for RB Devonta Freeman owners, it looks like an equal split of touches in Atlanta. ( they lost to Tampa in Week 1, so it’s not a formula that worked) Until they commit to Freeman, Coleman is a real option,  rushing eight times for 22 yards and caught 5-of-6 targets for 95 yards.

deep leagues- JACK RB Denard Robinson- RB Chris Ivory’s injury looks serious. We don’t know much, but if Ivory is out for an extended period of time, someone has to help RB T J Yeldon’s workload.

Wide Receiver Waiver Wire Week 2

NO WR Willie Snead– Utter-Fantasy’s #1 waiver wire wide out going into Week 2. Snead caught 9-of-9 targets for 173 yards and a touchdown in New Orleans’ Week 1 loss to the Raiders. With the Saints likely down in every game due to their bad defense, Snead could be a good option on a weekly basis. Only owned in 80% of Yahoo leagues.

ATL Mohamed Sanu- Utter-Fantasy predicted prior to the regular season that Sanu could see 80-90+ targets in 2016. In Week 1, Sanu had 8 targets/ 5 catches for 80 yards and 1 TD, including a two-point conversion reception. ( Note: Mohamed Sanu was seen by reporters “limping heavily” following Sunday’s loss)

CAR Ted Ginn Jr– You did not see it much in Week 1, but Ted Ginn Jr (the #25 WR for 2015) is still a big part of this offense.

HOU Tajae Sharpe- Although he did not score in Week 1, Sharpe made some fantasy football owners in PPR leagues. Sharpe hauled in 7-of-11 targets for 76 yards in Week 1.

NE Chris Hogan- The Pat’s new wide out caught 3/4 targets for 60 yards and a touchdown Sunday in the Patriots’ Week 1 win over the Cardinals. He is the clear #2 behind WR Edleman. Only owned in 31% of Yahoo leagues.

SD WR Tyrell Williams- Someone has to step up for the Chargers with WR Allen out, and Williams is a big receiver…6’4″ and 205 lbs. He caught 2/5 targets for 71 yards in the Chargers’ Week 1 loss to the Chiefs.

PITT WR Eli Rogers- An Utter-Fantasy “Sleeper” for Week 1 who found the endzone in Week 1nad who was targeted a lot.

Other decent candidates- deep leagues

NYJ WR Quincy Enunwa- Keep an eye on this guy. Huge part of the Jet’s offense in the preseason, and had 7 catches in Week 1 for 54 yards and 1 TD.

CINN  Brandon LaFell- Fantasy football owners were not sure about Lafell, because he played so little of the preseason. LaFell played 55/57 snaps Week 1 against the Jets…11 more than rookie Tyler Boyd. He is clearly the No. 2 option in the passing game with Tyler Eifert (ankle) sidelined.

Tight Ends Waiver Wire Week 2

SF TE Vance McDonald- An Utter-Fantasy “Start Em” who found the endzone in Week 1. QB B Gabbert  relies on McDonald a lot, so perhaps fantasy football owners can as well.

DET TE Eric Ebron- As a Lion’s fan, I am still sizzling from Detroit’s selection of TE Eric Ebron in the 2014 NFL Draft, passing on WRs Odell Beckham Jr, Brandon Cooks and Kelvin Benjamin, to name a few. Ebron however, is staying healthy and becoming a part of the offense. 5/5 targets for 46 yards and a TD in Week 1 ( which may be his ceiling)

PITT TE Jesse James- After one week, the Steelers receiving corps pecking order looks like WR Antonio Brown ( duh), WR Eli Rogers, TE Jesse James and WR Sammie Coates

DEN TE Virgil Green- 5 targets in Week 1

PHIL TE Brent Celek- The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Zach Berman reports Zach Ertz (ribs) could miss an “extended period.”

Deep league IND TE Jack Doyle– We know QB Andrew Luck is used to having 2 TEs as weapons. In Week 1, Doyle caught 3/4 targets for 35 yards, 2 of them going for TDs. ( I won’t expect 2 TDs again however)

Deep Deep league JACK TE Marcedes Lewis- Perhaps more trusted by QB B Bortles than in #3 WR Marqise Lee. Lewis had 2 receptions for 48 yards but also caught on of QB Bortles TD passes.
